- Sat 3 Feb 2024 was Jigger day, where owners of old NZR motor trollies could be all revved up and have somewhere to go, with the assistance of the great folk at the Kingston Flyer, and the NZTA, the environment was set for a safe, albeit soaking wet and freezing, day out.

Thanks to the owners and staff of the Kingston Flyer, and the owners of the dog friendly Garston Pub.
The Kingston Flyer is a vintage steam train in the South Island of New Zealand at the southern end of Lake Wakatipu. It uses 14 kilometres of preserved track that once formed a part of the Kingston Branch. Originally, Kingston Flyer was a passenger express train between Kingston, Gore, Invercargill, and less frequently, Dunedin. It was operated by the New Zealand Railways (NZR) from the 1890s to 1957.
Great Video, thanks for sharing
Youre welcome Tony
Love this. Memories of holiday as a child and railway just outside the house and the jigger would go by daily. A little bit further down the road than fairlight.
