@S S I wouldn’t own it for the internals. It would only be worth it to me if the folding machinism made the phone more durable. I work for a construction trade so durability matters a lot to me
1 year later the phone barely sells for 400 bucks on swappa. Talk about a missed opportunity. Motorola priced this thing into the sky and nobody bought it
This phone could be HUGE if they could just get the price low enough & more accessible for people on a budget 😩. The nostalgia factor is just that powerful, trust me
The problem is they aren't even close with the price, I really don't see something like this being worth more than 499, so there isn't much hope for now.
I feel like the price is the only real issue with the phone. Seriously, make it 500 - 700 cheaper and so many more people would buy it. I'd imagine the profit margins on this phone are incredible, now if they could only get people to buy it...

I'd assume they want people to buy it, so pricing it a bit more reasonable would make the most sense. Even $1000 is expensive for these specs but it's a lot more acceptable to consumers as they're kind of getting used to the $1000 price point. $1399 is simply too much. It's also competing with the Galaxy Z Flip 1 and 2, which both have better specs than the Razr 2. There just seems to be too many incentives not to choose the Razr 2 with the price being the most obvious one.

Cost isn't just parts, is the people putting those parts together and the people who created the brand new parts for the specific phone. Sucks that the cost is so high, but I'm glad they're trying and I hope people but it. In time the price can get down, but $500 is as loooooong way away

Seeing the trends toward foldables, I'd decided to make the Razr 5G my daily. Picked one up on Mercari, unlocked and like new for $550 with a 2 year accidental warranty👍The icing on the cake and what I do with all my older tech is sell it online to offset my purchases. After selling my S8 Active, got the Razr all in under $400! At that price point, well "Hello Moto" 😊

damn, this thing looks so damn slick!!! i mean that gold color looks amazing, not as flash as the z flip gold but very toned down and with a matte finish, still very expensive sadly.. love the design change with tapered edges and an overall less edgy design
Why though? The biggest complaint with the Razr looks to be price, but the Z Flips costs about the same. Neither have flagship specs or cameras either, but the Razr has its outer screen. What makes it so much worse than the Z Flip?
@@abubakrakram6208 Better processor, display, battery, hinge; wireless charging, maybe better cameras, flex mode, etc. The razr has a better design: outside screen, unique design, no crease (the hinge is worse though) and of course, the nostalgia factor. At the end everything is subjective, but the Z Flip is far better. I'd like to see how Motorola is going to keep improving and polishing (alongside Samsung) this form factor.

I still believe folding phones will have their nische, but the majority of users wont just pay twice for a foldable mini-tablet with cellular function. Most of us I guess are hoping some tech company is gonna get rid of the hand-device altogether and we can have some of that futuristic lifestyle.
I liked flip phones and slider ones. I always thought of smartphones as "bricks"; eventually, the designs were improved and vary. Now is once again stuck in the same form, all the phones now are ridiculously similar. I like foldables, whenever they start getting below $800, I'll try to get one for sure.

damn, this thing looks so damn slick!!! i mean that gold color looks amazing, not as flash as the z flip gold but very toned down and with a matte finish, still very expensive sadly.. love the design change with tapered edges and an overall less edgy design
I bought it for the form factor and design alone. Love it.

Why though? The biggest complaint with the Razr looks to be price, but the Z Flips costs about the same. Neither have flagship specs or cameras either, but the Razr has its outer screen. What makes it so much worse than the Z Flip?

@@abubakrakram6208 Better processor, display, battery, hinge; wireless charging, maybe better cameras, flex mode, etc. The razr has a better design: outside screen, unique design, no crease (the hinge is worse though) and of course, the nostalgia factor. At the end everything is subjective, but the Z Flip is far better. I'd like to see how Motorola is going to keep improving and polishing (alongside Samsung) this form factor.

I still believe folding phones will have their nische, but the majority of users wont just pay twice for a foldable mini-tablet with cellular function. Most of us I guess are hoping some tech company is gonna get rid of the hand-device altogether and we can have some of that futuristic lifestyle.
I liked flip phones and slider ones. I always thought of smartphones as "bricks"; eventually, the designs were improved and vary. Now is once again stuck in the same form, all the phones now are ridiculously similar.
I like foldables, whenever they start getting below $800, I'll try to get one for sure.
It's more like a folding screen on a folding phone.

He has very sensitive mics so probably it's AC or fan.
