I don't often do these kinda videos, but i spent a lot of time putting this review and guide together for Tobii, so i hope you guys found this useful! If you did, let me know! And if you didn't, let me know what I could improve for the next time. Thanks for watching!
I was one of the few who Beta Tested the Tobii5 for CIG before it was even released to the public. With 10+ years in TrackIR experience this is hands down one of the best products I've ever used. THIS GUIDE is also hands down the best I've ever seen for Tobii Setup in Star Citizen and will be now my go 2 link for people to view! Great job dude.
Cricky, I have been using my Tobii ET 5 for about 18 months now, after watching this I have realised I had only done the absolute minimum to set it up, I didn't know about half of these settings existed. I'm going to have to watch this a few times now, pausing a lot while set it up properly. Great tutorial Dtox - 5 ⭐'s
Dude this was a great video. I've been meaning to put effort into my Tobii settings. And because of you, I actually understand more than 10% of the shit you can do with it!
i bought the tobii pre mm mode and it was a blast... when mm patch released was the month of uninstalling star citizen. glad it works nice with my flightsims and racing sims to its close to vr and much more comfortable for long stints
I always saw the Tobii eye tracker advertised in Star Citizen videos but never understood how it worked, I thought you needed some fancy vr setup. Seeing that you just move your head is amazing ill have to pick one up soon! Thanks for the review and clarity man.
I have recently just gotten back into star citizen and have picked up a Tobii 5. I have only had it for a few hours now and still going to take a few more play sessions to really dial it in but my word what an interesting and positive experience it has been.
I could never get my Tobii Eye Tracker 5 to work, it's been sitting in a box for about a year now. Seeing this video and I'm a 2012 SC backer, I'll give it another try.
when u use only ur eyes to look around in the game how do u do that cus its not working for me and i did what u did in the video. im using tobii eye tracker 5
But how do I eliminate DEAD ZONE??? I hate jerking my head awkwardly to the side just to get my character to slightly move my head then it zooms off to the side WAY too far. I need help to find what settings ELIMINATE dead zone and I can’t find that anywhere.
I just got one, I was under the impression that you cannot see the red lights and only cameras pick them up but I can see them clearly, is this normal or is there something wrong with mine?
Hey Craig! Yes you can see the red lights, for me they're a dull red glow, but you would only see them flicker through a lens, based on the lens' shutter speed. I do not notice them, but they do serve to let me know when its working/active.
I personally never noticed such a difference, and I used Track IR for about 4 years prior which is why i was comfortable sticking with tobii when i moved. Especially with the updates in 3.23 I'd say it's snappier than ever but everyone's experience seems to vary slightly.
Hi guys, I just bought a tobii eye tracker, it works for head and eyes, I tested it on microsoft flight simulator. But when I wanted to use it for SC, nothing, it just doesn't work. I tried to use it in 3.24 and 3.24.1 not before as I couldn't get it to work and I'm absolutely sure that I've set the right parameters to restart the game/PC. Does anyone have the same problem? If not, I'd also like to know if it works for everyone except me. Thank you!
Hey man, what doesn't work exactly? Do you have your tracker set to the Tobii in the COMMS / FOIP section? Is the Tobii Experience program running before you open up Star Citizen? No reason it shouldn't be working if those things are done.
@@DTOXTV yep all the settings are donne i selected tobii, tobii experience runs at the start of my pc but no mouvements are transcripted to the game. I verified multiple times that i had it toggle on but nothing move. And i also verified that tobii was working with Msfs20. I'll ad that i verified all the drivers. But thank you for answering my call in the first place
Waiting for Tobii eye tracker 6 , because the 5 has already age , even 5 has more years than tobii 4 from 5. Imagine the cameras of your smartphone every year they becomes better , and Tobii 5 haven’t innovative all this years?
Curious, what is it you're expecting/waiting for from a new version? This already does everything i could want, next stop would just be VR? Which to be honest, I'm not even interested in personally. Its a different game at that point.
With how low quality game play and the bug fest and simply broken state of SC, there is no way I can justify an expence/convenience of hardwear to support such an alpha that has only progressed in adding teir zero mechanics and minimal game play to its development.

Just picked up a tobii 5 and super stoked! Thanks for doing a video and breaking down all the settings. Would like a share of your settings maybe.
@@wiredyo4577 Sweet, enjoy the tracker! Good point, i should share my settings in the description.

Thanks Mate! I was just about to search for a "how to" vid about configuring my Tobii and yours popped up. Meticulous guide, very helpful!
Perfection! No problem, i hope it helps!

Hello everybody, my name is Klaus and I cant live without a headtracker anymore.

Tobii used to suck before 3.22.
Now it's really nice, although TrackIR5 is snappier which can be better.

@vallmer8012 that's so strange. The light is on while playing? Eye preview is tracking in the software before you launch star citizen?
@@DTOXTV all yes
@@DTOXTV excuse me again but you never had a y problem like that
