I just completed the Ruger 10/22 version with the heat shield, extended charging handle and a binary trigger. The red dot and 110 rd drum makes plinking so much fun.
Cool I have some other 10/22 builds and they are fun and cheaper to plink with. I wish someone could make a magwell conversion for the ruger to stanag pattern mags
You need the 40 round stainless or nickel mag, nickel upper handguard, and the birdcage flash hider w/sight. Then you’ll have a strong look-a-like to the A-Team gun.
To get really nerdy here... I think my favorite version of the stainless mini-14 folder is the 90s ban era with the silly law enforcement only markings and the GB bayonet lug. It's just so wrong in 4 ways - bayo lug, folding stock, flash suppressor and markings.

No idea about international you know it depends specifically what country you are in and the laws for importing. It can use 556 or 223 ammo. 7.62x39 version can run ak ammo.
Was your Mini-14 the tactical version with the barrel already threaded and the flash hider already installed, or was it in fact a ranch rifle model and you had the barrel threaded and/or cut and the flash hider installed later, and if so what did that cost? I think it would be cool to get a front sight with a bayonet lug but I've only seen that part available as 3D print-on-demand and wonder how durable such a part would be.

You can get them online I’m sure. Ruger mini is a popular rifle been in production for decades. There should be original and aftermarket stocks available. Google it or try gunbroker. You can try posting on armslist to find see if anyone wants to trade stocks with you.

When I first went to a gun store Mini 14 and Sks were the only options no ar15 allowed back then. I’d certainly run ak47 before a ruger. But probably choose ruger over DI ar15.

I realized now that in movies and tv they don’t actually look down the sights or cheek weld so they didn’t ever have cigar interference

I do have a stainless mag for it. I Can have my handguard plated I guess. Flash hider site a bit more tricky.

Damn good point - I didn't think about that! It's fun watching A-team now as an adult after seeing it as a kid in the 80s.
The A team used transferable mini 14 full auto conversions. They used an M14 type selector. Civilians can have Ac556's because one resides in my safe.

Yeah a lot of 10/22 kits out there but you could keep the original stock and switch it back and gun and this stock hold their value separately.

Mine came like this I’m not sure if it’s threaded or pinned and welded on. I wouldn’t go plastic 3d print it won’t hold up to use.
It’s tha Tactical model 16in. Barrel threaded with flash-hider, series 584 (newer) model with thicker profile barrel with improved accuracy.

The A-Team used AC-556s not Mini-14s. The 580 series mini14s are much more accurate.
I think ac-556 is select fire so not a civilian option.
