- George Carlin talks about the death penalty, i didn't see this one up so i thought i might upload it ;] If you like George Carlin, you might want to check out Bill Hicks as well.
Taken from his 'Back in Town' special in 1996
This video belongs to HBO and is used under fair use law.
"Give a man a gun and he can rob a Bank. Give a man a Bank and he can Rob the World!" Thanks George, RIP
McHaazelnutz give the right man a gun and he can shoot a school
McHaazelnutz Give the right man a gun and he can overthrow his government, giving foreigner chance to invade their country and steal their resources.
Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank and he can rob a gun.
That was actually said by black mask, not George.
'a man with a briefcase can steal more money than a man with a gun!' thee eagles !
"I think even in a fake democracy people should get what they want once in a while" One of my favorite of Carlin's quotes.
i read your comment at the exact same time he said that
why does this haapen
Hey Keegan
@@keeganmoraes9905 Hello other keegan
@Dr. D Motherfucker no
@Dr. D The US isn’t a democracy.
It's really bizarre to me how many people here in the comment section don't seem to get this at all. He's not advocating for more violence, he's exposing how violent we already are, just in a "polite", "discreet", and "civilized" manner. Sadly, his entire point is going over so many heads. Don't believe me? Consider this line: "The blood is already on our hands; all we're talking about is a manner of degree." (after people start to feel uncomfortable after the handsaw line)
Ikr. Sounds like most people in this comment section thinks he's just some random guy up on stage protesting about killing people. Aren't COMEDIANS supossed to just tell jokes to make everyone laugh???
Yeah, it went waaay over their heads.
who are you two talking about? I had to scroll down for too long to reach your comment and no one thought he was serious.
2:06 "Now I don't care about capital punishment one way or another cuz i know it doesn't do anything except maybe satisfy a kind of biblical need for revenge."
Agreed.
This is sarcasm at its finest.
The real joke was on the people who were agreeing to what he was saying.
He just was merely proving the point on how ruthless inhuman people we generally are.
And some extra points for the religious “Judeo-Christians” for the excessive brutality over the recent history.
It just flew over most peoples heads.
RyGuy913 its ok we get it , we love it ! humans are violent animals , always have been . i would hang the bastards for free . just for fun !!!!
Even when George is being brutal as hell, his great intellect still comes shining through. George was as close to a perfect stand-up as this world is ever likely to see.
Really makes me wish he were alive today to see the shit show unfolding. But then again, he checked out at the right time. He knew shit was gonna get bad. If he saw how things were today, he’d probably be happy that he’s dead.
@@UnclePhil1112 Couldn't agree more. Although part of me wishes he was still around, he is well out of it, that's for sure. He was so ahead of his time, it's part of what made him so great. He definitely checked out at the right time, but what a legacy he left behind. There's been some truly great stand-ups over the years, but none can match George, at least not in my eyes.
@@Sara_Kane not at all. In today’s climate how would be cancelled for being too vulgar. Or for just simply speaking the truth.
@@UnclePhil1112
What's funny about this comment is that I am coming to this video right after seeing a video where George talks about euphemisms.
@@UnclePhil1112 the cons and libs would both be trying to cancel them because he so meticulously deconstructs the bullshit presented by both sides. his bits on "saving the planet" and "pro-lifers" being exceptional examples
Wow this is from 1996! Yet it seems like it could have been taped in 2018. We needed George Carlin to live forever. What an amazing warrior against BS.
Yeah weird how he mentioned jumping off of the world trade center before the guy who accidentally jumped out of it and the 9/11 incident happen.

This man was a genius. I never consider him a comedian because he never told one joke he made honest observations and we laugh because it’s 100% true
In history of the world part 1, Mel Brooks coined the term "stand up philosopher" and that's what George was
Well basically his expressions and word forming was flawless, which made him funny,if he would've spoken about growing grass, people would have still laughed
Carlin is a genius. True definition of Woke. Not the mental illness on display today. Modern day mix of William Shakespeare and Mark Twain.
Just think - he said this all back in 1996. 4 Years before Bush took office and 9/11, Gitmo, Water boarding, Abu Ghraib, Bagram, Trump and the other shite we are now living with.
He was a philosopher
“How about we throw a couple of guys off the World Trade Center?”

@@skater0224 Exactly, we should be f*cking hanging these people from lamp posts outside the courthouses.
Herman Goring, the highest Nazi official sentenced to death at Nuremberg, objected to being hanged. He was OK with the firing squad, the usual execution method for soldiers. Free enterprise is great, yes, but not at the extremes. Socialism is good, but not too much! You need a delicate balance. It is not all black and white. You need to be careful and always keep adjusting the delicate balance carefully. Look at Venezuela (all corrupt and all left) vs Switzerland (very little corruption and middle ground for socialist vs capitalist balance). If we WE THE PEOPLE let it happen, Feudalism is surely coming back! Please look up Feudalism. In it, the people did not know any better, they worshiped a King that pretty much OWNED them. They were very near slavery, yet they were brain washed to think the King was on their side, ... until The French Revolution, when the Kings lost their heads! The 1% better know, there is a limit to how far they can stomp on the 99% until another revolution to really clear the swamp! No matter how many morons claim socialism is Nazi like, and no matter how many idiots bend-over-and-spread for the 1%, the people will one day wake up like the French did. That WAS a surprise for the Kings, they never expected such a revolution to happen because they took it granted that centuries of abuse of the people was just the norm.

George carlin a teacher who never taught us in school.
Satan to Carlin: "Let me just say, I'm a big fan!"
Jeffery Dahmer didn't think of that.
God would say this
@@AxenfonKlatismrek Both would, tbh
I'm glad alot of the younger folk are discovering George Carlin, thank God for the internet! Otherwise you would've missed out on a GREAT era of his existence!
Hahaha did anyone hear that guy screaming " Fuuck yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa" lol
I did
Lmao sure did haha
That was me dude. I had a little more to drink that day
+Emil Goubasarian Oh yes. Too much! xD
AMEN!!!
George was one of those people who knew he was losing his hair but he didn't want to cut it. That was awesome.
The infamous skullet
Carlin did say about white guys shaving their heads that they look like freshly circumcised dicks.
No fucks given
It actually matches him well tho
That "Jeffery Dahmer Eat your hear out" line was the height of comedic genius. 👌🏾
Anyone wish he was still with us
Hell yeah. I love him and miss him very much.
Got to see him live for my birthday, it was the most awesome show i have been to yet. Got to sit second row. George even poked fun at me cause i couldn't stop laughing my ass off.
oh he would fucking be *seething* if he had to be alive right now
I do!
I just realized that he even existed and I want him back
The budget still hasn't been balanced.
Man they've been doing hardcore Corporate Socialism lately, at an unprecedented level not thought possible anymore since the last crisis and its stimulus bills
bankers love debt
It never will!
@merchandise 7X it's not supposed to be... debt=slavery. the masses are enslaved
@merchandise 7X Jimmy Carter
naked upside down cruciffictions at half time of football
people would actually watch football then
Nope, you're wrong. They would only watch the half time festivities.
You mean more people would watch.
Probably would still be better than Sicko Mode
@kurgan highlander this comment has no likes. But in all honesty but I totally fucking agree. Best comment in this shit bro
Darkness in light
That’s how sick we’ve become. We are not much civilized under the customs and make up. We r still in the Middle Ages .
The only loss of watching George Carlin is, that now you are left with one less masterpiece. Carlin is BOSS.
George Carlin is the ONLY comedian who can make people laugh at these outrageous things.
Bro ur name
deesz nots what about it?
Er hes not the only one, but he was damn good at it
I think his act was therapy for him, he was extremely cynical.
Nah it was critique of how moronic American society is, while everyone acts like they shit gold
Motorcityman Man
Yes cynical. How old are you and sheltered???
@@lilianflower3017
Im 58, how old are you??? Whats your point??
@@lilianflower3017 how old are you and sheltered?
John Martinez it’s actually true, my best friends uncles job was to calm him down if he got to out of control
we need george carlin in these times.
so smart
+Kitty cats I love him. When you laugh so hard.... you can't breathe.... You feel better... Can't go wrong with that.....
He was a mean spirited bigot who wanted us all to die!!! yeah, real smart. never did he say one real thing to better humanity. not once..... and before you respond, go find one quote where he said something to better this planet. if you do I'll eat my hat!!!
+Glenn Frazier Kill the bankers that laundry the drug money is a good start as far as i am concerned
+Glenn Frazier Carlin was incredibly intelligent and insightful. So fed he was smart. However, I think he saw the human race as beyond redemption in a lot of ways, hence his nihilistic outlook. This is why Bill Hicks is the best comedian, while Carlin is 2nd in my opinion. Hicks was just as critical of modern society, but he always had this sense of hope that we could do better if we could just break free of the imagined shackles of the powerful.
Alex Jackson agreed , but I like the nihilism of carlin, and I think he was super smart way beyond the comedy, he actually was a master of distilling very complex ideas that he could elucidate in interviews to very simple jokes with an emotion twist. He turns what seems like butter knifes into swords
Absolute genius..... uncomfortable for some but George delivers everytime.... Says it like it is
“Throw a guy off the World Trade Center”
That aged poorly
Yeah, now they'll only fall a few feet now.
I'd argue it aged so well it actually happened
Not much throwing but a whole lot of jumping 😂
Not really. A bunch of religious fanatics made it happen
Surely some one won the publishing clearing house on its last day.
I wish George Carlin was running for president
+Lewis K
Would be interesting having a dead guy in a major political role I guess.
+KoJ1337 He still wouldn't need as many strings to move him around as some of the other candidates
+KoJ1337 We have unfortunatly elected many a brain dead president in the past....just my views...
think you missed the point.
It doesn't matter who is president, the whole system is a fuck up.
Don't vote
yaaaaas
It’s just like “A Modest Proposal.” This guy is an OG 🔥
Greatest comedian of all time, easily. Rest easy George 🤘
George wasn't a fucking "standup comedian", he was a brilliant social commentator YEARS ahead of his time! His more pissed off later years in the 90s and 00s as he got older was his best material.
Can we resurrect this man and make him emperor of earth?
you could if you were successful enough in promoting his ideas. the difference between a leader and a comic is that people are silly enough to take the leader seriously.
no
No, he could have Cheeto land though.
This stuff is 24 yrs old and still relevant😰👏
Try 180 years old. The ideas originated from the philosopher Carl Marx in the mid 1800's.
One of the greatest mind who ever lived. R.I.P legend.
I wish to see a country governed by comedians.
+Dhruv Gupta Guatemala.
+Dave Mitchell President David Letterman
VP Norm MacDonald
Attorney General Jerry Seinfeld
+Dave Mitchell John Oliver? he said comedians, not cucks
There is one: Guatemala. A former comedian is now the president.
+Dhruv Gupta Well, Donald Trump is almost president.
"He wouldn't know if he was cumming or going"
That had me dying.

"You dip a guy in brown gravy and lock him in a small room with a wolverine who's high on angel dust"
*I CAN'T BREATHE* 😂😂😂😂
Best Execution ever
Or, "take a small, tactical nuclear weapon, and STICK IT UP A GUY'S A**!!!!" XD ROFLMAO
It's not as much fun as it sounds. A lot of those little guys got fleas.
@@fatheroflatus pretty sure the fleas are the least of your problems lol
Lmao
I love the way he eases in, then runs it to its extreme conclusion. He knows how to get a point across.
Classic bait and switch techniques that are the heart and soul of comedy.
He would say the things everyone thought, but they were too scared to say it. What a master!
We've lost a great stand up comedian. What a shame! RIP - George Carlin
absolutely, a comedian in the actual definition; intelligent presentation of the satirical in everyday dogma.
He died at 71, which I think is a decent age to die. Let us celebrate his life rather than counting it as a loss.
BRBallin1 With respect, I'm going to disagree with the first part of your comment, I think 90 is a decent age to die....and yes I know we actually have an age group over 100!
BRBallin1 You may be right, and maybe my opinion is Jade cause I've had relatives pass 90, and I've lost some under 50 due to wrong place wrong time! Take every day that's all I can do!
***** I didn't know that!
I don't agree with the death penalty, but, I mean, he's got a point. Things probably would in fact work out that way if we put up a public execution channel on tv.
I don't know how it's possible to watch this thing and get to a conclusion where this guy was sincerely FOR death penalty instead of being against it?
@@Jakkomies I didn't mean to imply he was sincerely for the death penalty, sorry if you took it that way.
Okay guys line them up for the firing squad.
Yeah, he said he didn't care one way or the other. His intention here is to not predispose the audience to what is coming next: An illustration of a totally barbaric society - those criminals who should be executed and the rest of us who is watching it.
Actually we used to do that, public executions were the norm, the whole family would show up. For hangings, beheading's. It did not stop the crimes being committed.
Such a great comic and super intelligent man...
I'm concerned about that one guy shouting "Fuck yeah!" when nobody else was cheering.
