- Chris Tracey, Unit Bridges Manager, and Alasdair Allen, Severe Weather Manager, explain how new ice sensors on the Queensferry Crossing will help BEAR Scotland to monitor the weather conditions that we know can cause ice accretion.
A bit of cold weather and central Scotland comes to a standstill again! Amazing design. Congratulations.
What a bloody joke. What happens when we get a freak ice storm like we had that brought pylons down? Is the Shanghai bridge going to collapse too?
I've researched a bespoke solution that will prevent ice forming on the cables. Google -

Why cant the old bridge not be used for traffic as a temporary measure when the new bridge is closed due to icing? In would save motorist a twenty mile diversion to get to Edinburgh What a joke
16th century cable stay design lol.
