Ecamm's Virtual Camera: what it is & how to use it

Ecamm is a powerful live streaming and video production studio for Mac. But did you know that it also has a built-in virtual camera?
Ecamm's virtual camera allows you to bring everything you create in Ecamm into other apps like Zoom, Discord, FaceTime, Google Meet, and more. This includes graphics and overlays, interview guests, animations, video clips, sharing your screen, lower thirds... really anything you want to share, present, and record. Whatever you add into Ecamm will automagically show up.

It is clear that a lot of resources have been used to create this setup. Even reflection in the glasses is avoided. Therefore, it also surprises me that the mistake we can all see is not corrected. The light in the background reflects disturbingly in the lens, filter or teleprompter if one is used.

Thank you! Will install the latest Ecamm and follow your instructions for the virtual cam. On 4:54 when you open Zoom instead of going all the way left to the preferences, you could have just gone to the top right of the zoom window where you have your profile pic. You click it and the menu options open, then hover down to SETTINGS.

Thank you! I've used the virtual cam for quite awhile.... but now it's somehow built in to the Mac OS? Not sure what the difference is in this "new" update.... Can you clarify?

Correct. The main difference is that it's now "always on" and available and you can use it in more apps like FaceTime, Discord, Keynote that weren't previously available. The functionality of what it does remains the same.
