  • Tosicam takes on FOSI and Aiyima for the budget amp crown.
In a budget amp free for all, Tosicam's T200W goes for the low blow in an attempt to out budget Aiyima A07 and FOSI v3. But does it stack up?

Randy's having a meltdown after seeing this awesome review. Can't wait to see his wacky shocked-face thumbnail.

Love the channel, and it has educated me so much in that I should be boldly wearing way more orange.

Last night, for f@rts and giggles, I unhooked my homebrew speakers and hooked up my old AudioEngine B2. It was the cheapest (~$200.00) speaker Stereophile ever Recommended. It was dubbed D+ once upon a time in Sereophile's jargon. Class D has come a long way in the interim years. The Tosicam T200W replaced the internal technologies. I wired direct to its crossovers. The resultant system was much improved. I am now satisfied that the Tosicam T200W can drive ANY speakers, not just my homebrew masterpieces :)

A potentiometer with a power switch is more expensive than a potentiometer and a simple power switch. Also the most logical placement on the circuit board is not the same for power, volume, treble and bass. I once had to deal with cost benefit analysts - they are heartless.

I have had my beloved Tosicam T200W for over a month. I use it to power my homebrew speaker (every driver cost more than the T200W) (most of the crossovers parts did, too) arrays from my MinisForum PC via BlueTooth (BT) on UA-cam music.. It is a delight. The price is not important, just very low. You may spend as much as you want, you may get better sound, but, you may not. The blinking LED only matters if you can not find a piece of black tape to hide it. I just turn the little amp to hide the constant red (BT active) LED behind its treble knob :) The treble and bass knobs allow you to adjust the sound to your ears. That is all such knobs ever do. For the price of a tolerable bottle of wine, you could add Music to your life. It is a good idea 8*O (Music and Science do NOT mix.)

True, but music and wine mix very well.

Wine is far inferior to cannabis for audiophilia.
If you won't move to a better state or grow your own then you don't deserve hearing 9th dimension audio.
Alcohol is like Dolby 1.5 audio.

Power switch? I turn my units off at the breaker to avoid any resonant power causing distortion into my nearby audio devices.

I liked the Tosicam T200W (not the PRO!) using the RCA inputs. I LOVED it using the BlueTooth 5.1. It rocks!
Get a BlueTooth source ;) It will make you Grin in Glory, too: B*D

By this review,it seems like,by incorporating a few more goodies to this platform,it could rival the big boys for a few hundred more.I’d gladly pay hundreds for less compression at an extended range for something like this.Someone, please make it happen.Hard to believe that access to the chip could be gained for less that $100.

    • @scientificaudiophile
      @scientificaudiophile  9 місяців тому +3

FYI: The chip used in the T200W can be bought in bulk (500 units) for $2 each.

@@scientificaudiophile Would never have thought that.Seemed that the little amp’s big punch was due to its advanced processor. Some of these 5-7 thousand dollar amps f could be a lot cheaper with hardly noticeable performance. As a music fanatic,I’d love to have a great sounding system, but at many thousands per component they are out of reach to millions of us.

Even a passive monitor attenuator at this price from a major brand is lousy; can only imagine how this sounds. Nailed it with the slave labour, as nothing this cheap is made without questionable methods.

No idea, especially since video compression is so awesome, you’d think audio compression would be even better.

Sound. Play a cd through a system and compare the same track in mp3 format. Even at 320kbps, an mp3 will not sound as good as a cd. I've ripped my 800 plus cds to a Seagate 1TB portable drive in wav form. The portable drive is connected to a TV's USB socket. An optical cable from the TV connects to DAC and the DAC is connected to an amplifier. The sound is great.

I don't care how cheap they are that's the waste of 39.00 on a piece of crap is disposable that's a waste of resources😢
