I really agree on the point where you said, burnouts are a huge problem and we must take breaks to recover which was of course why you left during Alpha 2 for Hello Neighbor 2, in which made the game change later down the line. I hope that all goes well with HN3 and to hopefully finish it through since this makes Hello Neighbor 2 the first game in the franchise to be incomplete. I hope that with the energy and courage you have brought back will continue with Eerie Guest Studios to make a great third game to the franchise. I really like one of your prototype projects, like Introversion. As someone who suffers from social anxiety and somewhat of depression at the moment, I really like the ideal concept of the game as someone who suffers from it I sort of get the same feelings.
It is sad that there will be no updates in Hello Neighbor 2, but it would be more logical to finish the second part, and then continue working on the third.
@@Haydent472 I am the creator of Hello Neighbor. I was the designer, art lead and music composer for the original game, Hide & Seek and other stuff up to HN2 Alpha 1.5. I think it might be called "game director" 🤷♂ Currently at HN3 I do the same-ish stuff. As for ownership, tinyBuild owns Hello Neighbor.

If say really, I’m literally crying…I’m remember when literally yesterday I am was playing in Secret Neighbor, Hello neighbor, hello guest… this was my favorite game/fandom, I even have a board game with Secret Neighbor… thank you Nikita for everything…
The worst part is I’m not 100% surprised. If it’s a full priced game, that is not treated or branded as a small little project at all, then it only makes sense to finish it before starting work on a sequel project. This is how someone gets into the cycle of being bored of making games, creating unfinished ideas that haven’t blossomed into what they were supposed to be, over and over again. That’s why I’m worried for HN3, that there will be a great foundation but the idea will not be fully realised. After all, that is exactly what has happened with Hello Neighbor, Hello Guest, and Hello Neighbor 2. You can see how great this series can be in its full potential in not only the many fan games created, but also the animated series which is very stellar.

My Patch 10 / Act 2 Concept: Cutscene: After Quentin gets knocked out in the museum, the LayoutV2 cutscene plays, then Quentin gets up. Gameplay: Go outside the cave and do the Raven Brooks Forest gameplay. Cutscene: After the mannequins resembling Diane and Mya hug Quentin, he faints and wakes up back in the Raven Brooks Banner. Quentin hears a knock on the door and opens it, revealing Beatrix, his sister that went missing years ago. Beatrix shows Quentin her name tag. He gasps and takes out a picture of him and her. She nods and they hug. They finish hugging and Beatrix does the beckoning sign. Gameplay: Follow Beatrix to the Mayor’s fountain. Solve the symbols puzzle and climb down the ladder to end up in the sewers. Cutscene: Quentin examines the corkboard, which has pictures of Mr. Peterson’s luck device, the Golden Apple Amusement Park, the observatory, the Raven Brooks Station of Weather and Meteorology, and Roger and Adelle Peterson. Beatrix grabs a coin with a golden apple inscribed on it and examines it. Suddenly, the Guest bursts through the hatch and chases them. The unused Guest chase track plays. Gameplay: Run through the right tunnel, take a left, then a right, head to the hatch, and climb up the ladder. Cutscene: Quentin boards up the hatch with the hammer. Beatrix holds up the golden apple coin and points to the Golden Apple Amusement Park. Quentin nods and Beatrix puts the coin away. Gameplay: Follow Beatrix deeper into the forest to reach the Golden Apple Amusement Park gates, which are locked and need a key. Go to the Golden Apple Candy Factory and scare off the vandals and find five golden apple candies and drop them into the melting pot, where there’s a sign that shows a golden apple candy with “5x” next to it. Once all the candies are in the pot, they will melt and form a big golden apple candy. Go back to the gates and give the golden apple candy to the crow holding the key in its beak, and it will drop the key, grab the candy, and fly away. Grab the key and use it to unlock the gates. Enter the amusement park. Cutscene: Quentin examines the big wall and gets an idea. He points to the Rotten Core roller coaster track, which is broken at the end. Gameplay: While avoiding the Guest, go to the workshop, which is in the same spot as the security office from Hello Guest. The door is locked and needs a key. Go to the rifle range and scare off the vandals and win to get the key. Bring the key to the workshop and use it to unlock the door. Go inside and find the grapple gun throughout the machinery, tools, and blueprints. Go to the supermarket and grab a generator and two wires. Go back to the amusement park and enter the electrical room and place down the generator. Plug the wires into it and connect them to the power circuit. Power will be restored to the park. Use the grapple gun to grapple onto the roller coaster tracks and walk to the start. With the power on, press the red button on the control panel to start the ride. Cutscene: The roller coaster car starts moving and it falls off the broken part of the track and crashes into the wall, destroying it. Behind it is the Raven Brooks Station of Weather and Meteorology. The Guest looks at Quentin and Beatrix and turns the machine on. The Guest strikes a dramatic pose and Beatrix turns to the observatory to see the Forest Protectors using the luck device in a ceremony. Quentin gets his camera and takes pictures of the Guest and Forest Protectors while the mayor, the baker, and the taxidermist are unmasked. It starts raining and lightning strikes right in front of Quentin and Beatrix, which explains the burning and destroyed houses and the big puddles in the secret Patch 9 photos. The Guest turns towards Quentin and Beatrix and chases them. Gameplay: Run back to the town, avoiding falling debris, lightning strikes, and fire. Cutscene: The storm is dying down, but the town is on fire and destroyed with puddles everywhere. Quentin and Beatrix approach Leslie Kornwell. Quentin hands Officer Leslie the picture he took. He examines it and gasps. He points to the now destroyed Mayor’s house with missing posters of the mayor. Gameplay: Go to the Mayor’s house, where the lights are now powered by generators, and go down to the basement, which was hidden until the storm broke the ground to reveal it. Open an old picture to reveal a keypad with a 16-digit code. There are old pictures around the basement with dates on them. Piece together the dates and put the code in. A secret compartment will open, revealing plans to strengthen the storm. Grab the plans and bring them to Officer Leslie. Cutscene: Officer Leslie examines it and does the beckoning sign. Gameplay: Follow Officer Leslie to the Raven Brooks Police Department. Cutscene: Mr. Peterson comes into the police station, and everybody turns towards him. Mr. Peterson hands Officer Leslie a picture of the Guest taking Aaron. Officer Leslie examines it and nods. He points to the observatory on the map of Raven Brooks on the back wall. Quentin, Beatrix, and Mr. Peterson nod. Gameplay: It’s not storming anymore. Go to the observatory and use the crowbar to get the boards off of the door. Cutscene: Mr. Peterson sees Aaron crying in the corner. Aaron looks at Mr. Peterson and they run to each other and hug. The Guest comes from the right side and three Forest Protectors, which are the mayor, the baker, and the taxidermist, come from the left. Gameplay: Run back to the town. Cutscene: Officer Keith and Officer Leslie see the Guest and the Forest Protectors chasing Quentin and Beatrix, so Officer Leslie arrests the Guest. The Forest Protectors surrender, and Officer Keith unmasks them. He shakes his head and arrests the Forest Protectors. The Guest shapeshifts into a crow and flies away. Officer Leslie nods at Quentin and Beatrix, who nod back. Quentin sees Mr. Peterson and Aaron hugging. Mr. Peterson nods at Quentin and he nods back.
Cool idea but there are 2 reasons why this wouldn't work. 1. If they do all of this, Hello Neighbor 3 would release in 6 years minimum, which is way too much. 2. Updates/Patches are there to fix bugs, performances issues and stuff like that, not add a whole new act.

This is a prime example of why publishing companies should not push for massive expansions without perfecting the original idea first. Props to tinybuild for letting Nikita “do his own thing” with this game so far, hopefully, it continues to be that way for the foreseeable future. He literally admits to stepping down during hn2s development because he was "fighting" for ideas to be added to the game that he didn't even want to work on anymore, It basically grew too big and overwhelming for him which is totally understandable. (3:06) I think it’s safe to assume that his simple hello guest prototype turned into something much larger than he wanted it to become.
Im so glad tinybuild finally let nikita be transparent about all of this. He really deserved to let this all out. Hes literally the reason i still love this frnachise. Im hoping they can pull off something good with hello neighbor 3. Im still gonna put my hopes up.
I want to be happy and I want to be hopeful for HN3, but I just don’t know if I can anymore. I love Hello Neighbor and don’t intend on leaving it, but after wasting $40 on a half finished game, just to wait for patch 10 and find out it’s cancelled, it hurts. Let’s hope that HN3 can redeem this franchise.
What do you mean? You mean Hello neighbor 1 and 2 weren't that good in the end and failed, so you're hoping 3 will be more successful? I mean, even i was a bit disappointed by the first, especially because there was so much hype for it through the alpha and beta versions and all that, i played every single one and was keeping up with the news, and then the final game came out, and it was still full of glitches, and the story didn't explain a lot, and wasn't as mind-blowing as i was expecting it to be, i mean, i didn't think it was bad, but it didn't live up to the hyper for me i guess, i also played hide and seek, but by then, i kinda lost interest to the point where i wasn't keeping up with hello neighbor 2 for example, i haven't even played hello neighbors 2 actually, and i didn't hear anything special about it, but i think i'm willing to give it a chance once more now that they're making hello neighbor 3.
I really hope you all can do this, make the best game in the series yet. You've always had really good ideas and concepts for these games, but I feel like they always never reach the fullest potential or vision, I think this time you can really pull it off, looking forward to more dev logs.
honestly i'd say that the switch from hello neighbor 2 development to hello neighbor 3 was a good call, a fresher start without a negative community input could be really good. The development skills shown by you in the games you show in this video have some really cool techniques that feel very hello neighborish but haven't really been showcased in hello neighbor 2. I played the RBO playtest and really enjoyed it, if the gameplay mechanics shown in rbo are used in hello neighbor 3 I'd say the game shows some promise. Really incredible video with some really incredible messages. Can't wait to see the future of this franchise.
I am a new fan here. Was introduced through the show, and stayed because of the books. The lore of the franchise is messy, a lot of contradictions from media to media, but as a writer (you may be able to tell from the paragraph I am writing here, zero yapping shame) I can tell that someone wanted to tell a story here. A pretty good story too, I'd argue. I will admit I am guarded and don't have too many hopes up yet, but as someone who also does the same mistake of having too many ideas but never focusing enough on HOW to bring these ideas to reality, with this last month being the first time in years where I found the right footing to start improving, I sympathize and want to give this dev team the benefit of the doubt as well. It is a good call to put all focus on HN3 and be frank with the audience. Maybe one day you could make patch 10 as well, better late than never. If things look promising, I am willing to branch out from the lore and try out future games too. Honestly, don't rush development. Games take a long time to create. People in the gaming community are always fine with waiting

I'm sick of this company... Ok, do whatever you want with Hello Neighbor 3, but I'm really disappointed with your decision regarding Hello Neighbor 2. Many people, including me, bought this game for like $40 with high hopes. I understand the problem of Nikita burning out, but Eerie Guest Studios and tinyBuild should have handled HN2 differently. You guys completely rushed it and without any communication with the HN community, you made this project a complete disaster. Many people lost trust in you. And now the worst part is that you had a chance to come back (like Cyberpunk 2077), but you screwed it up, like always... I was a huge fan of Hello Neighbor since the early Alphas, I stayed and supported the series even after HN1 failed. I recommended Secret Neighbor to everyone because it was a really great concept and yes, it WAS because Hologryph under pressure from tinyBuild killed the game. Hello Neighbor 2 was my last hope for this series... and I gave it one more chance to see the final patch 10. Make fun of me and this HUGE essay, but I hope it will make some of you think deeply about this series and tinyBuild... God bless you.

You know what, I agree with Nikita's plan. No seriously. See here's why. If Patch 10 or Hello Neighbor 2 gets completed, fewer and fewer people while be interested in the game all together. When patch 9 along with the previous patches were released fewer UA-camrs played the game. Not even Game Theory played much of the game when it was released. Sorry but in all honesty Hello Neighbor 2 is DEAD among many UA-camrs and I highly doubt that if the game ever got fixed or completed, more UA-camrs would even take an interest in it. To be honest, it's going to take a lot more than just patch 10 to make the game work so no, I don't believe finishing the last game is going to work and it would most definitely be a waste since again, not many people will take an interest in the game or any of its updates or patches. Hello Neighbor 2 is done and over! It's now to use a better plan for the franchise in general. Now unless the fandom can hype up other people to even do some gameplay for those patches or updates that they're asking for then maybe it could work, but until that day will come, in all honesty any plans for Hello Neighbor 2 would be a waste of time and resources since their are lots of gamers not taking that much of an interest in the sequel after its failed aftermath.

I can't believe how Nikita was able to make those prototypes simply just to learn from them for future projects. He's one of the realist game developers I've seen.
It turns out that the second deception, the first time when the second part was released, the second time when they promised that there would be updates, now they officially abandoned the game, I hope that this will not happen with the third part.
Even tho I didnt really like the release of HN and HN2, after watching this vid, I have a hope that Nikita and TinyBuild will make finally a great Hello Neighbor game. We all saw what they can do in Alphas, so these guys can cook if they really want it. Seeing Nikita not giving up on developing games, and trying to create something cool and unique shows that he is good dude. My opinion: Come back to concepts and thoughts you had during the development of first game: Dev-gam, Prototype, Pre-Alpha and Alpha 1. And then, HN3 will be a success, well, at least OG fans from 2016 will enjoy it.

This cancellation makes me think that the animated series will have to tell the story of HN2 for the devs, which makes me a bit worried if they have to shove a completely unrelated plot into the next season
Even though it is unfortunate that HN2 has been abandoned, it is nice to finally know the truth about what has happened to it. I am looking forward to HN3, so are many others. Hopefully this time we will get the game we have been waiting for.
tbh this is still only part of the story of HN2's development, we still have yet to receive confirmation about what caused so many features to get outright scrapped

While am sad to hear Hello Neighbour 2 isn't updated anymore, am more happy to hear they aren't giving up with Hello Neighbour entirely, and giving us something more, I hope they take all the time they need, everyone needs a break every now and then after all.

Why did you announce Hello Neighbor 2 in 2020? If, as a result, they scored completely and deceived everyone, in addition , they threw money at them , promised one thing, got another , promised updates, got nothing.
it was a mistake to announce hello neighbor 2 at all it literally began as a prototype made in like 2 weeks, and even if they already had a considerable amount of stuff when they revealed the prototype in january of 2020, tinybuild fucked up so hard on overhyping a project that was barely even on pre alpha,
Not gonna lie I feel like the only reason why people wanted patch 10 is because everybody was thinking that we wouldn't have the Halloween menu screen anymore which could have been good either way but to think Hello Neighbor 3 might not be single player might make it a bit harder if you gotta get things out of players houses to progress the story but if it is single player then that would be a whole entire new level to the franchise but if there were perks in the game if it is online story progression then it could be a bit easier like how secret Neighbor has resistance to accident's or sprinter then it could be better and cosmetic's would be good if you were to think about it like for instance the detective outfit with the neighbor mask or Quentin's outfit but I feel like all the outfits are going to have masks on them if there are cosmetics but not gonna lie though special roles could come in handy like a dodger role or a parkour role heck even a fighter role were you could temporarily stun players by punching them in the gut would be great to see in Hello Neighbor 3 if it's online multiplayer and cosmetics don't really matter like at all and are the people you play as those people that do property damage in Hello guest and if they are would we be able to see the walls from Hello guest but we're on the outside of them actually it could explain the lore of Hello guest and Hello Neighbor 3 of when it's taking place because Quentin's shift was presumably the night before Beatrix's shift every time………
I like the concept of hello neighbor 3, I've loved hello neighbor for a long time I've never played the alphas and batas but I was there watching youtubers play them and I hope the devs know what thay are doing not just for nostalgic purposes but to advance the world. I understand completely if people give up on the hello neighbour franchise, but ever my optimistic personality or my attachment to the franchise, I can't give up on Hello Neighbour

@Vladis-c1g To be honesty, even if hello Neighbor 2 were to have an update or a completed story, I doubt there would be any traction. When the past patches were released fewer and fewer gamers play the game. It would be an ultimo waste to focus on the game.
Honestly a remake of hello neighbor 1 would feel so much better in my personal opinion. I was so excited about hello neighbor from 2016-2017 and I really miss what it was back then. A lonely man with a sinister secret in his basement. While I know there is a big part of the community who genuinely like this whole franchise and I don't want to sound like a big baby. But seeing what this game has become compared to the countless Days of 9-10 year old me getting excited for this *horror stealth* game, watching UA-camrs play alpha 1 and 2 and now having 2 very disappointing games and unnecessary spin-offs, it stings a little. (I'm not trying to sound mean but this has been on my mind for years honestly, games are just very important for me and have lots of nostalgic values)

Feel like you guys really need to regain people's respect especially since hello neighbor 2 will now be left in an unfinished state, and hello neighbor 3 NEEDS to be good you guys need to not OVERPROMISE things, overprice the game, leave it in such a bad state and also buggy on release, and most importantly I think you guys NEED TO TAKE FEEDBACK from the playerbase, among other things. I enjoy this video was more open on development but I feel this kind of stuff really shouldve been said earlier and needed to be more indepth.
The game has potential related to AI. But please make graphics like in hello neighbor 2 alpha 1-1.5. That style of graphics looked fresh and interesting for the franchise. And please leave at least a few hints about the story in hello neighbor 2

The worst part is I’m not 100% surprised. If it’s a full priced game, that is not treated or branded as a small little project at all, then it only makes sense to finish it before starting work on a sequel project. This is how someone gets into the cycle of being bored of making games, creating unfinished ideas that haven’t blossomed into what they were supposed to be, over and over again. That’s why I’m worried for HN3, that there will be a great foundation but the idea will not be fully realised. After all, that is exactly what has happened with Hello Neighbor, Hello Guest, and Hello Neighbor 2.
You can see how great this series can be in its full potential in not only the many fan games created, but also the animated series which is very stellar.

My Patch 10 / Act 2 Concept:
Cutscene: After Quentin gets knocked out in the museum, the LayoutV2 cutscene plays, then Quentin gets up.
Gameplay: Go outside the cave and do the Raven Brooks Forest gameplay.
Cutscene: After the mannequins resembling Diane and Mya hug Quentin, he faints and wakes up back in the Raven Brooks Banner. Quentin hears a knock on the door and opens it, revealing Beatrix, his sister that went missing years ago. Beatrix shows Quentin her name tag. He gasps and takes out a picture of him and her. She nods and they hug. They finish hugging and Beatrix does the beckoning sign.
Gameplay: Follow Beatrix to the Mayor’s fountain. Solve the symbols puzzle and climb down the ladder to end up in the sewers.
Cutscene: Quentin examines the corkboard, which has pictures of Mr. Peterson’s luck device, the Golden Apple Amusement Park, the observatory, the Raven Brooks Station of Weather and Meteorology, and Roger and Adelle Peterson. Beatrix grabs a coin with a golden apple inscribed on it and examines it. Suddenly, the Guest bursts through the hatch and chases them. The unused Guest chase track plays.
Gameplay: Run through the right tunnel, take a left, then a right, head to the hatch, and climb up the ladder.
Cutscene: Quentin boards up the hatch with the hammer. Beatrix holds up the golden apple coin and points to the Golden Apple Amusement Park. Quentin nods and Beatrix puts the coin away.
Gameplay: Follow Beatrix deeper into the forest to reach the Golden Apple Amusement Park gates, which are locked and need a key. Go to the Golden Apple Candy Factory and scare off the vandals and find five golden apple candies and drop them into the melting pot, where there’s a sign that shows a golden apple candy with “5x” next to it. Once all the candies are in the pot, they will melt and form a big golden apple candy. Go back to the gates and give the golden apple candy to the crow holding the key in its beak, and it will drop the key, grab the candy, and fly away. Grab the key and use it to unlock the gates. Enter the amusement park.
Cutscene: Quentin examines the big wall and gets an idea. He points to the Rotten Core roller coaster track, which is broken at the end.
Gameplay: While avoiding the Guest, go to the workshop, which is in the same spot as the security office from Hello Guest. The door is locked and needs a key. Go to the rifle range and scare off the vandals and win to get the key. Bring the key to the workshop and use it to unlock the door. Go inside and find the grapple gun throughout the machinery, tools, and blueprints. Go to the supermarket and grab a generator and two wires. Go back to the amusement park and enter the electrical room and place down the generator. Plug the wires into it and connect them to the power circuit. Power will be restored to the park. Use the grapple gun to grapple onto the roller coaster tracks and walk to the start. With the power on, press the red button on the control panel to start the ride.
Cutscene: The roller coaster car starts moving and it falls off the broken part of the track and crashes into the wall, destroying it. Behind it is the Raven Brooks Station of Weather and Meteorology. The Guest looks at Quentin and Beatrix and turns the machine on. The Guest strikes a dramatic pose and Beatrix turns to the observatory to see the Forest Protectors using the luck device in a ceremony. Quentin gets his camera and takes pictures of the Guest and Forest Protectors while the mayor, the baker, and the taxidermist are unmasked. It starts raining and lightning strikes right in front of Quentin and Beatrix, which explains the burning and destroyed houses and the big puddles in the secret Patch 9 photos. The Guest turns towards Quentin and Beatrix and chases them.
Gameplay: Run back to the town, avoiding falling debris, lightning strikes, and fire.
Cutscene: The storm is dying down, but the town is on fire and destroyed with puddles everywhere. Quentin and Beatrix approach Leslie Kornwell. Quentin hands Officer Leslie the picture he took. He examines it and gasps. He points to the now destroyed Mayor’s house with missing posters of the mayor.
Gameplay: Go to the Mayor’s house, where the lights are now powered by generators, and go down to the basement, which was hidden until the storm broke the ground to reveal it. Open an old picture to reveal a keypad with a 16-digit code. There are old pictures around the basement with dates on them. Piece together the dates and put the code in. A secret compartment will open, revealing plans to strengthen the storm. Grab the plans and bring them to Officer Leslie.
Cutscene: Officer Leslie examines it and does the beckoning sign.
Gameplay: Follow Officer Leslie to the Raven Brooks Police Department.
Cutscene: Mr. Peterson comes into the police station, and everybody turns towards him. Mr. Peterson hands Officer Leslie a picture of the Guest taking Aaron. Officer Leslie examines it and nods. He points to the observatory on the map of Raven Brooks on the back wall. Quentin, Beatrix, and Mr. Peterson nod.
Gameplay: It’s not storming anymore. Go to the observatory and use the crowbar to get the boards off of the door.
Cutscene: Mr. Peterson sees Aaron crying in the corner. Aaron looks at Mr. Peterson and they run to each other and hug. The Guest comes from the right side and three Forest Protectors, which are the mayor, the baker, and the taxidermist, come from the left.
Gameplay: Run back to the town.
Cutscene: Officer Keith and Officer Leslie see the Guest and the Forest Protectors chasing Quentin and Beatrix, so Officer Leslie arrests the Guest. The Forest Protectors surrender, and Officer Keith unmasks them. He shakes his head and arrests the Forest Protectors. The Guest shapeshifts into a crow and flies away. Officer Leslie nods at Quentin and Beatrix, who nod back. Quentin sees Mr. Peterson and Aaron hugging. Mr. Peterson nods at Quentin and he nods back.

Cool idea but there are 2 reasons why this wouldn't work. 1. If they do all of this, Hello Neighbor 3 would release in 6 years minimum, which is way too much. 2. Updates/Patches are there to fix bugs, performances issues and stuff like that, not add a whole new act.

This is a prime example of why publishing companies should not push for massive expansions without perfecting the original idea first.
Props to tinybuild for letting Nikita “do his own thing” with this game so far, hopefully, it continues to be that way for the foreseeable future.
He literally admits to stepping down during hn2s development because he was "fighting" for ideas to be added to the game that he didn't even want to work on anymore, It basically grew too big and overwhelming for him which is totally understandable. (3:06)

Im so glad tinybuild finally let nikita be transparent about all of this. He really deserved to let this all out. Hes literally the reason i still love this frnachise. Im hoping they can pull off something good with hello neighbor 3. Im still gonna put my hopes up.
I want to be happy and I want to be hopeful for HN3, but I just don’t know if I can anymore. I love Hello Neighbor and don’t intend on leaving it, but after wasting $40 on a half finished game, just to wait for patch 10 and find out it’s cancelled, it hurts. Let’s hope that HN3 can redeem this franchise.

What do you mean? You mean Hello neighbor 1 and 2 weren't that good in the end and failed, so you're hoping 3 will be more successful? I mean, even i was a bit disappointed by the first, especially because there was so much hype for it through the alpha and beta versions and all that, i played every single one and was keeping up with the news, and then the final game came out, and it was still full of glitches, and the story didn't explain a lot, and wasn't as mind-blowing as i was expecting it to be, i mean, i didn't think it was bad, but it didn't live up to the hyper for me i guess, i also played hide and seek, but by then, i kinda lost interest to the point where i wasn't keeping up with hello neighbor 2 for example, i haven't even played hello neighbors 2 actually, and i didn't hear anything special about it, but i think i'm willing to give it a chance once more now that they're making hello neighbor 3.
I really hope you all can do this, make the best game in the series yet. You've always had really good ideas and concepts for these games, but I feel like they always never reach the fullest potential or vision, I think this time you can really pull it off, looking forward to more dev logs.
honestly i'd say that the switch from hello neighbor 2 development to hello neighbor 3 was a good call, a fresher start without a negative community input could be really good. The development skills shown by you in the games you show in this video have some really cool techniques that feel very hello neighborish but haven't really been showcased in hello neighbor 2. I played the RBO playtest and really enjoyed it, if the gameplay mechanics shown in rbo are used in hello neighbor 3 I'd say the game shows some promise. Really incredible video with some really incredible messages. Can't wait to see the future of this franchise.
I am a new fan here. Was introduced through the show, and stayed because of the books. The lore of the franchise is messy, a lot of contradictions from media to media, but as a writer (you may be able to tell from the paragraph I am writing here, zero yapping shame) I can tell that someone wanted to tell a story here. A pretty good story too, I'd argue. I will admit I am guarded and don't have too many hopes up yet, but as someone who also does the same mistake of having too many ideas but never focusing enough on HOW to bring these ideas to reality, with this last month being the first time in years where I found the right footing to start improving, I sympathize and want to give this dev team the benefit of the doubt as well. It is a good call to put all focus on HN3 and be frank with the audience. Maybe one day you could make patch 10 as well, better late than never. If things look promising, I am willing to branch out from the lore and try out future games too.
Honestly, don't rush development. Games take a long time to create. People in the gaming community are always fine with waiting

Nikita's stories always made and make sense, that's a fact. but there's other writers for the books and the cartoon etc, not just him.

I'm sick of this company... Ok, do whatever you want with Hello Neighbor 3, but I'm really disappointed with your decision regarding Hello Neighbor 2. Many people, including me, bought this game for like $40 with high hopes. I understand the problem of Nikita burning out, but Eerie Guest Studios and tinyBuild should have handled HN2 differently. You guys completely rushed it and without any communication with the HN community, you made this project a complete disaster. Many people lost trust in you. And now the worst part is that you had a chance to come back (like Cyberpunk 2077), but you screwed it up, like always... I was a huge fan of Hello Neighbor since the early Alphas, I stayed and supported the series even after HN1 failed. I recommended Secret Neighbor to everyone because it was a really great concept and yes, it WAS because Hologryph under pressure from tinyBuild killed the game. Hello Neighbor 2 was my last hope for this series... and I gave it one more chance to see the final patch 10. Make fun of me and this HUGE essay, but I hope it will make some of you think deeply about this series and tinyBuild... God bless you.

You know what, I agree with Nikita's plan. No seriously. See here's why. If Patch 10 or Hello Neighbor 2 gets completed, fewer and fewer people while be interested in the game all together. When patch 9 along with the previous patches were released fewer UA-camrs played the game. Not even Game Theory played much of the game when it was released. Sorry but in all honesty Hello Neighbor 2 is DEAD among many UA-camrs and I highly doubt that if the game ever got fixed or completed, more UA-camrs would even take an interest in it. To be honest, it's going to take a lot more than just patch 10 to make the game work so no, I don't believe finishing the last game is going to work and it would most definitely be a waste since again, not many people will take an interest in the game or any of its updates or patches. Hello Neighbor 2 is done and over! It's now to use a better plan for the franchise in general. Now unless the fandom can hype up other people to even do some gameplay for those patches or updates that they're asking for then maybe it could work, but until that day will come, in all honesty any plans for Hello Neighbor 2 would be a waste of time and resources since their are lots of gamers not taking that much of an interest in the sequel after its failed aftermath.
And for the record, those previous patches didn't set well that much.

We all saw what they can do in Alphas, so these guys can cook if they really want it. Seeing Nikita not giving up on developing games, and trying to create something cool and unique shows that he is good dude.
My opinion: Come back to concepts and thoughts you had during the development of first game: Dev-gam, Prototype, Pre-Alpha and Alpha 1. And then, HN3 will be a success, well, at least OG fans from 2016 will enjoy it.

tbh this is still only part of the story of HN2's development, we still have yet to receive confirmation about what caused so many features to get outright scrapped

This is gonna go over poorly with so many people, you guys released a buggy mess of a game that was left on a cliff hanger and had almost none of the features promised, then said you were gonna fix it with updates, and now your telling them the game isn't going to be fixed? Hopefully hello neighbor 3 is better, but you guys messed up hard with 2.

Why did you announce Hello Neighbor 2 in 2020? If, as a result, they scored completely and deceived everyone, in addition , they threw money at them , promised one thing, got another , promised updates, got nothing.

Not gonna lie I feel like the only reason why people wanted patch 10 is because everybody was thinking that we wouldn't have the Halloween menu screen anymore which could have been good either way but to think Hello Neighbor 3 might not be single player might make it a bit harder if you gotta get things out of players houses to progress the story but if it is single player then that would be a whole entire new level to the franchise but if there were perks in the game if it is online story progression then it could be a bit easier like how secret Neighbor has resistance to accident's or sprinter then it could be better and cosmetic's would be good if you were to think about it like for instance the detective outfit with the neighbor mask or Quentin's outfit but I feel like all the outfits are going to have masks on them if there are cosmetics but not gonna lie though special roles could come in handy like a dodger role or a parkour role heck even a fighter role were you could temporarily stun players by punching them in the gut would be great to see in Hello Neighbor 3 if it's online multiplayer and cosmetics don't really matter like at all and are the people you play as those people that do property damage in Hello guest and if they are would we be able to see the walls from Hello guest but we're on the outside of them actually it could explain the lore of Hello guest and Hello Neighbor 3 of when it's taking place because Quentin's shift was presumably the night before Beatrix's shift every time………

I like the concept of hello neighbor 3, I've loved hello neighbor for a long time I've never played the alphas and batas but I was there watching youtubers play them and I hope the devs know what thay are doing not just for nostalgic purposes but to advance the world. I understand completely if people give up on the hello neighbour franchise, but ever my optimistic personality or my attachment to the franchise, I can't give up on Hello Neighbour

I'm so excited for hello neighbor 3 , and i'm very Happy you've followed your Dreams , because now hello neighbor Is One of my favorite franchise , and for hello neighbor 2 , i'm not so angry for no having patch 10 , because in hello neighbor welcome to Raven Brooks season 2 , you've given more information about when hello neighbor 2 takes Place , and how the neighbor escaped from prison , ( i can't wait for season 3 and the movie) , technically the "end" of the last patch for hello neighbor 2 , make actually sense , because It sets some new questions about the Man Who knock out Quentin , and how the hole between hello neighbor 2 and the act 3 of hello neighbor 1 Will be filled , i can't wait for another devlog , i'm so excited about all the new project for the hello neighbor franchise

@Vladis-c1g To be honesty, even if hello Neighbor 2 were to have an update or a completed story, I doubt there would be any traction. When the past patches were released fewer and fewer gamers play the game. It would be an ultimo waste to focus on the game.
It’s also sad that the Og hello neighbor has no updates I still play it to this day

Days of 9-10 year old me getting excited for this *horror stealth* game, watching UA-camrs play alpha 1 and 2 and now having 2 very disappointing games and unnecessary spin-offs, it stings a little.
(I'm not trying to sound mean but this has been on my mind for years honestly, games are just very important for me and have lots of nostalgic values)

Feel like you guys really need to regain people's respect especially since hello neighbor 2 will now be left in an unfinished state, and hello neighbor 3 NEEDS to be good you guys need to not OVERPROMISE things, overprice the game, leave it in such a bad state and also buggy on release, and most importantly I think you guys NEED TO TAKE FEEDBACK from the playerbase, among other things.

Hello Neighbor alternative reality is the best we can get out of a HN reboot. You can tell it was made with genuine passion and love for the series
The game has potential related to AI. But please make graphics like in hello neighbor 2 alpha 1-1.5. That style of graphics looked fresh and interesting for the franchise. And please leave at least a few hints about the story in hello neighbor 2
I agree, especially (so to speak) a hint about the fate of Quentin and Aron, if they spoiler the new design of the neighbor, then everything is fine with Aron, but Quentin is questionable.
