I love how using a tube source can add some magic to a solid state amp. It's great when you have planars which typically work best with solid-state amps, but want some tube glow.

Great first impression review Koji! I have the Poseidon and I can't find the words to describe how good it sounds, it is breathtaking, I paired it with OG Valkyria and MK 465. I don't think I'm ever upgrading but if I do Horizon is the way.

To move to something like this you had to have had the greatest day ever at the office. Gear in price range of great cars is a place I could not go unless my wealth was truly unlimited even then if purchase it would be for a gift for someone as that would bring me more joy than the gear.

Tubes in a DAC strikes me as a oxymoron. It’s a contradiction in terms, or at least it would seem to be on the surface without completely knowing the design and topology of the DAC. Most tubes are there for their harmonic distortion aka, Van Halen’s brown sound, and not for a true accurate reproduction of a signal. So it seems really gimmicky to me, at least on the surface. If you want a tube sound you typically add it after the DAC in the pre-amp stage for best results.

Storm But I don’t think this is the right use case for this, DAC is designed for two channel world and absolute insane end of the hi-fi category To be honest, you are really bottleneck in this DAC for hi-fi in the first place anyways
