“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” ― Sun Tzu, The Art of War
i just finished the Guardians scenario a few days ago on Insane difficulty with chaos moon, with no game rules i had a massive warehouse with thousands of resources my final attack was over 1000 bots, it was nuts
Soooooo many people don't realize the game has changed with this Dlc AI has been adjusted for the robots to be able to use guns. I've heard many people complaining that the game is cheating, it is ridiculous how many people learn the "Meta" and don't change when the game does. 😅
@@TacticatGaming same here. Not many puzzles I games anymore and that's why I'm gravitating toward these types of games. I'm excited to play frostpunk 2
I'll disagree with the original points you had. I always play on insane and I always build a base that is 150x150. Given this, the mid and late game is entertaining, but still fairly easy. The thing that makes it easy is that more enemies doesn't really matter. At year eight or so I typically get about 600 enemies, but it wouldn't matter if that was 6,000. If you have your walls set up right, you have a choke point where you can aim your machine gun turrets and missile turrets. Air enemies die almost instantly from concentrated flak turrets, so these are really nothing. For the early game, the only way this is difficult is if you do what you are doing here, a solo game. If you can get to a point where you are able to build enough fortifications and flamethrowers to have an initial defense, you can breeze through the rest of the game. The key is to be able to get to this point.
if you didnt play a insane chaos solo you should try before saying all those stupids things. it doesnt matter the number of bugs? yes IF you have strong walls, flatt turrets and optimal defences.. If you dont have it rly matter a lot, and controlling ressources and size of the base IS the key to win this. solo insane chaos is way different from a 3-4 survivors start, actually its still unbalanced. i could finish my first insane solo after watching this video, i won in 8 years and it was hard the whole game, with one attack every 2 days or less.
@@ikinari4485 I have now finished insane solo, and I stand by everything I said. The number of bugs doesn't matter. I am now done with the game as I have every achievement except the eight survivors because I never had the patience to save-scrum for it. The main difference between a 3-4 survivor start and a solo run is it just takes longer. 8 years is a pretty good time. I finished mine in 10 years, but I was probably just screwing around too much while having fun. What is hard? 1) Air attacks are not hard because they stop attacking you when you faint. They only cost time. 2) The first few ground attacks are not hard because your survivor can melee the bugs and kill them with no weapons. 3) Subsequent attacks are not hard because you could use flamethrowers to deal with all ground attacks at any point in the game. The only reason to upgrade from flamethrowers is that it takes time to repair and refuel them after every wave, and I wouldn't say there is anything hard about that. It only takes time.
@@whistlingwind5900 Well congrats for your run and achievements, but... If you reached the flyes of course you can say it doesnt matter bcs at this point you have found weapons and had time to build your defences, but AT START if you didnt use mods or special options you need to be very lucky in your scavenging, ofc you can kill bugs without weapons but if the first attack is 22 bugs you will get dammages. and just have the time to heal before another attack, unless you can cancel waves with travel stuff. and for this, luck is also needed to be able to build a baloon early. so its a bad idea to harvest tons of food and build a big base (the first year at least), i dont know how you managed your start but the conditions should be there (finding at least benzin early, or a gun) bcs if not you couldnt have won without paying attention to the size of your base and ressources. ofc if you can pass the stepps, specially with flammthrowner defences, then with turrets, in mid and late game the ammount of bugs per wave is way less important. and if you get the luck to find a mech core its way more easy bcs its rly powerfull and building op def is no more needed and for info i also won a insane chaos solo with krista, which means i didnt have the possibility to craft anything at all. on crashlanding scenario, without mods or any tricks. and yes it was very hard, i didnt get it on my first attempt.

well i put a like on your video, sure it's a good video, but for stratagy i would not say its a great run... u waste so much time letting him walk everywhere and produce nothing, at start he needed to walk each time to hold a emergency meal. survivors walking is what costs the most in this game, according to me. I also do not understand your choice for the fence: u have no sticks and need to craft them, why not doing a wood fence instead? would have been so much quicker;) thank you for sharing so precious infos at start, thanks to you i found the post u mention and learned a lot from it, i was hard trying insane chaos solo since almost 3 weeks and was giving up each time after less than two years. Now i corrected the stockpiles and im fine in my end-3st year with rita;) i do not appreciate all changes in the last dlc update, i do not see new challenges, i see mostly new problems and i less enjoy some parts of the game (new roof mechanic is so boring now..) Edit: i saw your comment about stickfence, but i still let my question: what advantage having a stickfence instead of wood?
3 wood = 10 sticks = 3 wall pieces fences break easily and require repairs - stick fences also have lower score value and don’t increase raid points as much 2 wood per fence would work well initially and not a bad strategy - but in the long run the cost of repairs would be high.
g @TacticatGaming Thanks for you answer. I understand, but for me its too heavy on time spend still. On your map there was no sticks and as wood as you want. Cutting bushfruits gives you fruits plus 10 sticks. I also tested the "dont use" option, i can avoid increasing stuff by letting on the floor a maximal ammount with the "do not use" tag. Anyway not finding fuel and metal is boring, a victory condition is the luck by material found at start.
Yeah the RNg killed me , no fuel for flames or even a laser gun. If I would have found a sniper for instance I would have easily won. Even a laser pistol
ye sure, on my run i found benzin and metal very early, i dismantled my vest and killed an ulfen for skin, then baloon very early. scavenging chances to find a weapon are too low, but on expedition it has been way easier if u try again i gonna watch for sure@@TacticatGaming
Antibiotics are actually inside of the first aid kits, that's what healed Talas when he was going crazy!
That lightning strike tho 😂😂😂
on your stick problem. highlight an area that gives you a readout of all within that square for easier discovery.
13:40 lol That was fast... maybe it's the pants. :)

Pacifist solo would be a real challenge.
