Congrats on picking up ssgt, you were a great senior drill instructor for our platoon last cycle in 3032. I agree with berry, please slay their souls lol thank you for making us who we are today
damn, SSgt. Montague, he was my kill and knowledge hat back in 2012, plt 3077, I owe that Marine everything I accomplish in the Corps. wish I could thank him
This is to “structured”. I miss the TOTAL chaos that happened when I went through. SSGT Nichols has an awesome Black Friday video when he was a Kill Hat. That is more what I had.
I would imagine that when they first meet their DI's and see how almost superhumanly disciplined and organized they are and understand that those DI's will expect the SAME standards from them, there might be the odd recruit quietly thinking to themselves "oh boy, what have I gotten myself into here?...nah...I think I want out, I can't do this", and I wouldn't blame them, it's very hard, both mentally and physically, especially mentally, but I guess MOST at this stage will be pretty sure they want this.
Platoon 3070? Funny, that was the same exact platoon number as mine. This looks like the same barracks I had too. I was Lima company plt 3070. Graduated September 13 2019. Won't ever forget it.
I had 3 in '68.....back then SDI's were called Platoon Commanders. GySgt. Gallihugh was my mine. He had a wild animal-look in his eyes....when you had a chance to glance @ them. We 4 squad leaders would knock on the duty hut to request he drill us instead of our pick-up DI, Sgt. Weaver aka. Sgt. "No Cadence"!
A few years ago I had a part time job. Most of the other employees were high school students. One in particular was a senior and she told me she was talking to the Marine recruiter. " I wonder if Marine boot camp is as hard as people say it is?" she asked me. '" there are videos on youtube that show recruits going through boot camp, Watch them and you will see what boot camp is like." she watched them and decided not to join.
I remember SSgt as my series chief DI, SSgt Smith's brother was in my platoon, that was interesting lmao.but last I heard Smith was a DI now and SSgt Smith is now a company 1stSgt on the depot
This has got to be staged for this video! These recruit already know all of this and know their chain of command! How do we know this! Look at the rifles on those bunks! You don't get a rifle and then get introduced to everyone!
I honestly respect how they go at acting like idiots themselves so the recruits do not have to be the only ones feeling like the dumbest form of life in the universe. And no, this is not a hate comment. I can assure you the only person not feeling like an idiot when he has to go through things like shouting "YES SIR" a million times to the point that his lungs and throat get close to bursting, is the only true idiot in that place. What they do is damn useful for many and various reasons, but hell does it look dumb as fuck. PS: Haven't gone through any tough training, but went through 9 months of military service in my country (Greece). Nothing serious training wise or life-threatening, but I know very well of these "rules" and term of conduct of the military. Seeing videos like this reminds me a lot of examples.
Ah brings back memories. Platoon 3113 1987 mcrd san Diego. Drill instructors for the win Hoorah!! Every young american needs to join the service. We've have a lost generation of young kids who know nothing about honor, sacrifice, and tradition. Marine Corps will provide that.
The drill instructors physically abuse the recruits by yelling in their ears, causing them hearing loss .What is the Marine commandant doing about it. that
The USMC really needs to order all DI's at USMCRD Parris Island and USMCRD San Diego needs to significantly tone down all their DI's! Screaming accomplishes nothing, talk in a calm voice, if you're a little firm believe me you'll be heard but if you're screaming you'll be hated!
