I disagree with 5 people seating in nexon. The rear comfort is like a hatchback in case of sonet. This is quite a biased review as sales of nexon has gone high and increased waiting period after sonet price reveal. Rational users should compare htx+ and nexon. This is clearly a paid review.
Drive modes is the biggest deal breaker here. This is where Nexon can give better mileage than SONET. 2022 Nexon XZ + HS model now comes with Air purifier and tire pressure monitoring system (now even SONET get TPMS). And the 60:40 split seat is also such a convenience. Also better build quality. All in all Nexon clearly takes the edge.
Excellent comparison.. But you see there are more factors to consider here.. Nexon has better cabin space, better suspension n ride quality, better rear seats n comfort, better handling (cornering & high speed stability), better steering.. These are huge factors in favour of Nexon!!.. Yes the Sonet might have more consistent interior fit n finish.. Yet Nexon overall is the best car in the segment due to its inherent additonal capabilities n quality!!
Great. I had seen both the options. Car looks are personal choices but Personally, look wise and front/rear seat comfort, I found Tata Nexon has advantage over Kia Sonet.
Very interesting verdict based on actual on road price. No other channel compares like this all they do is spec comparison and say "if you need this buy this otherwise that". This channel is such a gem.
I'm your subscriber and admirer of your great work. However, I disagree to your verdict based on below points 1. The moment any car comes with 5 star rating is superior and by default add more value irrespective of its higher cost, compared to 4 star or below safety ratings of other cars 2. With Electronic stability control and Traction control, Nexon would offer better driveability, superior handling and dynamic handling compared to other cars with non ESC and Non Traction control. Again with such features the value of Nexon is much higher irrespective of higher price. 3. Had both cars been equipped with similar safety features such as 5 star rating, ESC, Traction control and on par handling, then one can add value based on servicing cost, warranty and other style related features. I am an NRI and feel pity on consumers who rely on Auto experts for their decision making process. In general, I feel Auto journalists in India haven't done justice when it comes to educating or sharing the knowledge to consumers on safety features. Everytime, I see emphasis on sun roof and other style related features. On the contrary, there shouldn't be any compromise on the safety, driving dynamics and handling. These features should be the number 1 priority and not the other way round. 1. Can we please educate consumers on Safety aspect? 2. Can we teach the importance of Electronic stability control and Traction control to our consumers? 3. Can we teach the importance of 5 star rating to our consumers? How long we fool consumers with Mileage, sun roof and other less important features over safety? Before I conclude, would anyone of you travel in a plane which has less safety features, or any train which has less safety features? As a loving husband/son/brother, where do you want your loved ones to be; a car with 5 star rating, full safety features such as ESC, Traction control etc., or in a car with sunroof, better mileage bigger touchscreen but no safety rating and absence of essential safety features? And lastly, not always value can be quantified. The real value is immeasurable.
Hi. When we started V3Cars, we wanted to make sure that we will make car buying decision easy. We came to a point where we realised that there is a need to associate some value to everything in a car to rate it objectively, so that there's no bias in our work. So we ended up with a thoroughly researched data, which became the backbone of V3Cars' analysis. It has not changed since the beginning. We understand that safety is and should be a no-compromise subject for every buyer. We also understand that features like ESC, traction control, etc. are key safety features. At the same time, we also understand the importance of features like adjustable rear headrests, auto-dimming IRVM, etc. that can prove to be equally useful in safeguarding a life or averting an unfavourable situation on the road. A perceived value was associated with all the safety features by evaluating incremental cost of these features by various carmakers and by understand the value of these features. There are viewers who believe that there should not be a value associated with safety features -- we agree to an extent with them, but then there is no scope of confusion for such people. For example, in this case, the XUV300 W8(O) becomes the default choice for such buyers because NCAP rates it over any other car in terms of safety at this price. The question is -- should every car buying question in this price range end with the XUV300 as an answer? Try to answer this question yourself and I'm sure you'll come to a point where you'll agree that a car is a combination of more things than just safety, safety being one of the more important criterias. Also, we don't hold NCAP's ratings in high regard, because it doesn't present a crystal clear view of how safe a car is -- there're a lot of ifs and buts there. For example, it doesn't rate a car on impact from rear, the strength of roof is not taken into account, and there are more such loopholes. Like carmakers have flouted efficiency tests in the past, it is also possible to get better ratings on NCAP with modifications to just the frontal part of a car. While we do mention the rating, whenever it is available, we can clearly say that our assessment doesn't take into account NCAP rating, and we do not have any plans to add any value to this rating unless NCAP's ratings evolve. So this comparison of Nexon and Sonet is based on our data, the same data on which we rated the Nexon in all previous comparisons where it managed to easily win over some of its competitors. We did not change it for this particular video. In fact, we made it more transparent by giving out the difference between both the cars according to our assessment, because we knew a lot of questions will be raised. We know that we're true to our work, and we intend to remain unbiased, no matter what viewers have to say. We don't intend to single-out safety, fuel efficiency, power or any other single criteria to recommend a car. A car is a combination of a lot of things, we are in a continuous stage of evolving our tool to make sure we add dynamic values like ride, handling, comfort, etc. in our assessment, and that's how we intend to go forward. We may agree to disagree, but we are sure that V3Cars is made to help car buyers take an informed decision, and we will never put the buyer in the backseat, ever.
You guys at V3 does a pretty good job. But it could have been better if you could throw some light on internal measurements too. Sonet has a boot advantage, but it misses on rear leg space compared to Nexon. Both cars have two rear headrest but nexon can comfortably seat a 3rd person unlike sonet. We indians likes to travel passenger packed rather than full boot luggage. Also some details like 60:40 seats really makes a difference and should be properly highlighted.
Very informative and well presented. Thanks to V3Cars. Such quantitative analysis really helps buyers in making their decision. Good research. Thanks again. Also, can you please make similar comparison between Sonet & Nexon automatic?
Clearly Nexon is the winner. With just 25K more Nexon is providing ESC, TPMS and many more practically useful features with much more rear seat comfort. On top of that Nexon is proven 5 star rated car. 👍
Well i really don't want to debate as i understand your love for nexon. The difference in value is considering the perceived value of all these features, just pay attention when video is running However as i said don't want to debate, if you feel nexon is better go for it No comments on it

The saftey rating of Seltos is pathetic as shown in a recent UA-cam post. Seltos is more premium than Sonet, then Sonet is definitely not a safe car. In this situation, Nexon seems to be a sensible option
Please make a comparison video on current 2021 model sonet HTX vs nexon XZ+S. Kindly do it for both type of transmission as the current prices are almost similar for both cars in each transmission. Would really appreciate an early video on this from your side.

1 litre engine churning so much power will be awful and overstressed in long run, sonet has large boot and cramped legroom still sonet is better, great review
Hi @V3Cars, the revised price of Sonet HTX Diesel is now ₹10,19,000 which is very much close to Nexon's. So, what makes a better buy now? Please advise. I've booked Sonet when it was priced ₹20,000 lower and waiting for the delivery this month. Thank you.
I disagree. Nexon is far more wider than Sonet. Five ppl can sit comfortably in rear sear in Nexon. Also recline angle and thigh support in Nexon is far better than sonet. And when it comes to sepakers Nexon gives Harman audio and sonet gives Arkamys, no comparison can be done of these two based on no. of speakers
As tata has now launched a middle variant XM S With AMT, which is priced lower than Sonet 1.0 Turbo Petrol HTX variant, a new comparison between the two is requested. I like the logical and structured way of your analysis and that definitely helps. Thanks
@@ritukishayri4775 but HTK+ still has 1200 cc engine, which is not comparable with 1200cc turbo engine of Nexon. So, if you consider Nexon XM S AMT, the nearest Sonet match is HTX IMT which has 1000 cc turbo engine.
thanks for the video, if you can help understanding about the negative reviews of nexon where they say axel issues seemed during all 12 accidents reported in last one year.
Price difference is not much in case of petrol but look at the diesel. Sonet htx diesel retail at 9.99 itself but Nexon is costlier by 1.5 lakh at least

Today I have cancelled Kia sonet htx diesel. I have booked on 24th oct 2020 on road 10.92 lakh. Dealer has assured me to delivered in dec 2020. Still I don't get delivery. Dealer is not giving suritiy to delivered me in january end 2021. 1-1-2021 Kia has increased price of htx diesel on road 38k. So i have cancelled Kia sonet and booked maruti brezza zxi plus model 10.4 lakh on road with 46k discount and free accessories. I have complaint regarding attitude of kia's sales agent and fooling customer regarding delivery on kia's customer care.
Please suggest best value for money 💰 kia sonnet petrol car and comparing with other car like venue and W-RV please. According to you which car is best for my budget 10.5 lacs.please help
200cc diff !!! Doesnt it give a tick to nexon engine over sonet ? You talked about Torque and Power but not about CC? Im not really sure whether more CC gives advantage or not. Would you please reply to the comment about CC factor?
Please share genuine ownership experience with sonet paid service of diesel. I booke sonet htx diesel automatic, after reading reviews of after sales service and DPF issues worried if i should even go with kia or go with nexon petrol automatic.
Does ESP, HSA matter much? As I was planning to go for Seltos HTK+ AT diesel (since none other lower or mid variant come with Automatic gear box), but this does not have ESP and HSA are these 2 features that important that I should go for Sonet instead?
btw, if one wants a diesel engine, the same variants would have a price difference of almost 2.10 lakhs 😐 Nexon Diesel manual XZ+ (S) = 13.7 lakhs Sonet HTX diesel manual = 11.6 lakhs
if you refer to the owner's manual it mention what is included in periodic maintenance like consumables replacements frequency and service schedule. Match that up with the cost at what the consumables are charged at service centers you get periodic maintenance cost. It is hard to believe and mostly you may not believe me, however same consumables are charged higher at TATA service centers which is having this impact on the periodic maintenance cost. I agree Kia will raise prices in near future however it is an effort which should be appreciated with which Kia has decided to settle in India and they are leaving no stone untouched. Tata should look how the customer care for KIA is handling the difficult cases with customers.
People who are commenting about ESP, Traction control as mandatory, please checkout the No 1 Selling Maruti Brezza do not have it. Still it's the Highest Selling Car all time. In India 90+% of the cars do not have ESP and Traction control in them, are they all facing accidents ? If that is the case, nobody would have bought car without these Features. We should think Again

Very well explained. much needed information. How would you rate Sonet iMT vs Tata Nexon AMT petrol?
Sonet IMT is the best as these fall under mid power range cars. Amt doesn't allow you to enjoy the full potential of the engine under this segment.
Great. I had seen both the options. Car looks are personal choices but Personally, look wise and front/rear seat comfort, I found Tata Nexon has advantage over Kia Sonet.
if sonet had alloys it looks way more better spec. in white
ajay jadhav yeah but do drive the imt , the drive ease and pleasure is a level above
Drive with safest car is more life benefit pleasure to drive
We need a new comparison video after Kia HTX upgrade. Now it got Hill Assist, BA and other safety features.
Mind-blowing auto vlog channel♥️. I am watching this channel since 1 year
I would say Best car review channel I have seen till now which considers user perspective. Really appreciate ur background work for all videos
Very interesting verdict based on actual on road price. No other channel compares like this all they do is spec comparison and say "if you need this buy this otherwise that". This channel is such a gem.
I'm your subscriber and admirer of your great work. However, I disagree to your verdict based on below points
1. The moment any car comes with 5 star rating is superior and by default add more value irrespective of its higher cost, compared to 4 star or below safety ratings of other cars
Most awaited comparison
Hi can you pls guide, what us your view, which one to buy Sonet HTK+ (MT) or Nexon XZ?
The difference in value is considering the perceived value of all these features, just pay attention when video is running
However as i said don't want to debate, if you feel nexon is better go for it
No comments on it
Besides values for money which is the more sturdy, safe and has driveable enjoyment in the long run.
Hi sir.. Between Sonet & Nexon in Automatic petrol... Pls tell me which is best... Value for money
Which version I should take...
The way you are explaining very good... Pls give reply
I think Sonet HTX and Nexon XZ+ is a better comparison. Because price wise they are similar and less than 10l ex Showroom. Kindly do this comparison and pls don't be biased towards Sonet 🙏
The best place to understand which car and which version suits you the best sounds easy but I know how much calculation and detailed comparison is required to get the best option awesome guys you guys are best 🙏♥️
The saftey rating of Seltos is pathetic as shown in a recent UA-cam post. Seltos is more premium than Sonet, then Sonet is definitely not a safe car. In this situation, Nexon seems to be a sensible option
Which one is better in terms of long running in diesel please suggest Kia sonet or tata Nexon
Please make a comparison video on current 2021 model sonet HTX vs nexon XZ+S. Kindly do it for both type of transmission as the current prices are almost similar for both cars in each transmission.
Would really appreciate an early video on this from your side.
Covered well but you miss nexon has a full digital instrument cluster with Harman sound vs Sonet
also Nexon has a button for DRVM on touch screen with rear wiper washer vs Sonet
Also if Tata xz+(s) petrol could price below 10.0L
Than its a killer to Sonet HTX petrol
Nearest kia service center from my home is 100km away. And Tata service center is 2km away. I like sonet. Should i buy it or should i go with nexon?
Tata should concentrate on petrol engine...it should develop 4-cylinder refined turbo petrol engine...
Service should be 15000KM/1.5Year.
In this way it will burn less pocket for consumers
Kia sonet HTX IMT vs Tata Nexon XZA for next 5-7 years , 1st priority SAFETY, 2nd priority durable gear box.. any comments??
Please make an updated comparison. Sonet 2021 got many new features with increased price. So which one do you suggest now.
I am really confuse with Tata Nexon XMAS and Kia Sonet HTK+ IMT. I like driving experience of sonet but really worried about safety. Nexon AMT is ok but provide good safety. Not sure if I should compromise with with driving experience and go for safety any suggestions
What would be the verdict for 2021 model of both the varient, as there are price hike as well as change in features in both the cars, please reply. #V3Cars @V3Cars V3Cars
1 litre engine churning so much power will be awful and overstressed in long run, sonet has large boot and cramped legroom still sonet is better, great review
What do you mean,anand?
Please suggest Sonet HTK or Nexon XM which is value for money model?
Hi @V3Cars, the revised price of Sonet HTX Diesel is now ₹10,19,000 which is very much close to Nexon's. So, what makes a better buy now? Please advise.
I've booked Sonet when it was priced ₹20,000 lower and waiting for the delivery this month.
Thank you.
Finally we have the comparison between them. Great work V3👍
I disagree. Nexon is far more wider than Sonet. Five ppl can sit comfortably in rear sear in Nexon. Also recline angle and thigh support in Nexon is far better than sonet. And when it comes to sepakers Nexon gives Harman audio and sonet gives Arkamys, no comparison can be done of these two based on no. of speakers
Which is best?! Harman or Arkamts?!
Compare Nexon XM(S), Venue 1.2S+ and Sonet HTK+.. they come under 10lakh budget..
As tata has now launched a middle variant XM S With AMT, which is priced lower than Sonet 1.0 Turbo Petrol HTX variant, a new comparison between the two is requested. I like the logical and structured way of your analysis and that definitely helps. Thanks
XM(S) competes with HTK+, XZ+ Competes with HTX
@@ritukishayri4775 but HTK+ still has 1200 cc engine, which is not comparable with 1200cc turbo engine of Nexon. So, if you consider Nexon XM S AMT, the nearest Sonet match is HTX IMT which has 1000 cc turbo engine.
@@chemical_locha16 HTK + also has 1 L turbo petrol I think
@@ritukishayri4775 you are right, but it's least value for money variant, even as per V3 cars,a delta of only 50k wrt HTX variant, so that's why.
Good detailed analysis. Cleared many of my doubts.
thanks for the video, if you can help understanding about the negative reviews of nexon where they say axel issues seemed during all 12 accidents reported in last one year.
My first video but this is how I want a video... good work keep it up man
Price difference is not much in case of petrol but look at the diesel. Sonet htx diesel retail at 9.99 itself but Nexon is costlier by 1.5 lakh at least
Wrong info provided of sonet htx
It has ESC, HAC
And it has alloys also
excellent video, going for the sonnet, just impressed with the NEXONS rear space
What would be best comparison to HTX diesel in same range?
Also even if someone drives 15000 KM every year then do you suggest diesel cars considering future norms?
Hi Jagdev Ji
I really like your channel.. currently I am planning to buy car and your contents are really good and helpful.
Somehow i am confused with sonet HTK+ and Nexon automatic variants.
Can you help me.
same here...
Hi. Thanks for writing. We’ll try to compare all the automatic variants in a separate video.
@@V3cars-Official by the time what ll be your choice from sonet HTK+ and Nexon
Nexon XZ+(S) also has sunroof right ?
If u compare sonet htx with Nexon XZ+ .. Nexon has even more value for money
pankaj kumar Panigrahi but xz or xz+ don’t get the sunroof , so that’s why xz+ is more comparable
I am planning to buy nexon xz s or creta manual petrol s or sx. I live in himachal remote areas where roads are not that much good. I want to keep car for atleast 12-15 years. Can nexon be reliable enough for long run.. like creta
Sir, I am planning to buy a vehicle in petrol variant and my budget is 12-12.7 lakhs.
Initially I was very much impressed with Kia sonet htx imt.
Later on when I am seeing reviews I found Tata nexon xz+s is also considerable.
Now I am in much confusion in these 2 vehicles. Please suggest and help me out in choosing best one from these two.
Will be ever grateful for your advise.
Thanks.
I am torn in between Nexon XZ+S or XZA+ variants, both cost exactly the same any insight will be helpful @v3Cars
Was searching for this comparison and you already had it. As usual great presentation by you. You should add your final verdict like which one you would go for
Today I have cancelled Kia sonet htx diesel.
Waiting for this video.👍
Your videos are always on point.
Good work team V3 Cars 👏
If just Sonet would have provided some more safety features and Alloy wheels in Htx, do doubt it would have been the most value for money car.
Your wish has been granted. 2021 sonet htx has allow wheels
@@ishaansejpal249 that comes with an extra price too 😂
Please suggest best value for money 💰 kia sonnet petrol car and comparing with other car like venue and W-RV please. According to you which car is best for my budget 10.5 lacs.please help
You are great,,, interesting details,,,, depth analyzer 😀👌
200cc diff !!! Doesnt it give a tick to nexon engine over sonet ? You talked about Torque and Power but not about CC? Im not really sure whether more CC gives advantage or not. Would you please reply to the comment about CC factor?
Sontet HTX imt vs HTX diesel manual. Which one is better? In terms of power and maitanance
Nexon is much better
Please share genuine ownership experience with sonet paid service of diesel. I booke sonet htx diesel automatic, after reading reviews of after sales service and DPF issues worried if i should even go with kia or go with nexon petrol automatic.
I love the through explanation of these videos. Very well done! And thanks for sharing an unbiased and logic driven verdicts.
Thank you sir for making videos on your viewers' demand.
I hope diesel variant video will come soon.
Thanks & Regards.
Plz do Sonet HTX Petrol vs Diesel
Which is better for yearly maximum 10k running ??
The moment you said Nexon seats 4 passengers, I understood you are doing a paid review for Sonet.
What a load of crap, lol!!! 😂
Bro he said that mesin is better than sonet then too you are blaming him
Why are you nexon guys so angry when someone says wrong about nexon
Sonet 4 seater hai
Sir plz suggests mei which one buy kia sonet HTK/HTK + OR NEXON XM/XM S
Very Good Comparison kudos to you but...
As far as safety is concerned TATA nexon XZ+(S) is value for money.
Don't think only in monetary terms. Safety is must be first priority over 50k.
If price isn’t a point, which car is better where kia service center is 250km away and tata’s 50 km only.
Hi team, since both of these cars have got updates in term of specs and prices, can you make an updated comparative video?
Indeed I was waiting for this comparison from you V3😅👍 truly a worth channel for auto reviews and technical comparisons of automotives 💯👍 keep it up.
In our state Assam, tax slab increases at 12L ex showroom.
Does ESP, HSA matter much? As I was planning to go for Seltos HTK+ AT diesel (since none other lower or mid variant come with Automatic gear box), but this does not have ESP and HSA are these 2 features that important that I should go for Sonet instead?
btw, if one wants a diesel engine, the same variants would have a price difference of almost 2.10 lakhs 😐
Nexon Diesel manual XZ+ (S) = 13.7 lakhs
Sonet HTX diesel manual = 11.6 lakhs
Nexon isn't worth spending 2 lakh over sonet
@@manoja538 exactly... HTX diesel manual variant of Sonet is pure value for money
Hi , thank you for this comparison... may I know what’s the inclusion in periodic Maintanence?
if you refer to the owner's manual it mention what is included in periodic maintenance like consumables replacements frequency and service schedule.
Good video... Please do diesel comparison with Nexon, Xuv300, Sonet, Venue and Ecosport...
Hello v3cars how come sonet is more good than nexon though nexon offering safety and good features
Bcoz you buy a car at on road price not at ex showroom price
Cuz paid by Kia
Sonet HTK+ Petrol OR Nexon XM S Petrol me konsa lena better hai?
People who are commenting about ESP, Traction control as mandatory, please checkout the No 1 Selling Maruti Brezza do not have it. Still it's the Highest Selling Car all time.
In India 90+% of the cars do not have ESP and Traction control in them, are they all facing accidents ? If that is the case, nobody would have bought car without these Features. We should think Again
