  • I had not been enjoying playing lately but then this ladder session changed everything! The win streak is incredible but more than that it reminded me that it's okay to strip things back to the basics and enjoy improving again

      Idon't know. i love to play but i only could enjoy the wins. I tried many times to engage less competitive and enjoy the game by it self. But only it works at games, were i have the feeling of beeing at an even level of skill and it was no utter shoot cheese, i can't handle.

    I love to see it man. Im having a resurgence in my passion for music after having to sell my drums and end my drum lesson studio during COVID just to be able to buy food and not go broke.
    Almost the same situation too except for me it was going through the motions of trying to practice every so often and telling friends what I do despite me not having done it in awhile. Something hit me and I told myself - stop telling people youre a musician and go back and do the thing.
    Very happy you found your passion again and heres to many more years of SC2 casting, gaming and content creating! 🍻❣

    I was also struggling a lot with SC2, especially my frustration at the game as I have to do so many things to get a win
    But recently, I started taking the approach of "I don't care if I lose, I wanna try and make this work." And I stopped SCV scouting because if they wanna ravager all in me, that's fine. I am here to practice, not try hard. If I lose, I will get an easier practice opponent next time.
    My MMR was irrelevant to me because I know if I try hard, I can hit 4k, but I want to sit comfortably at 4k so I am doing various builds for fun and to practice working on getting to certain situations and adjusting my weaknesses

    Positioning and army control affect the outcome by tens of thousands of minerals. I wouldn't sweat the small stuff. Dark does just fine while getting supply blocked on occasion. Put your focus on what matters and that's positioning & control.

    The timing of this video is incredible. I have lately started to give up on ladder. I am hardstuck master 3 and I just can't improve. I have a positive win rate vs Z and T but I am just so bad vs protoss. I just don't enjoy the matchup even when I win, I feel like I am not even playing starcraft. It really swings my mood. Lately I have been lucky and got to Masters 2 because I got basically 7 Zergs and 5 Terrans and maybe 1 protoss, but I feel like thats as far as I can go. I don't know.
    Glad to see you are enjoying your games though

    • @KulaGGin
      @KulaGGin 2 місяці тому

      Well, are you going into replays and analyze their build order and what you could've done to win? Scout here, do your reaction, then jump into practice mode and actually do it. Then if you don't understand, ask people on Harstem's, Pig's and Competitive Starcraft 2 discords. That seems to be the recipe forever. I only got to D2 in 2023 but I did it in under 400 games total in life in a few weeks following Pig's B2GM and going into replays when I encountered a new strategy that I haven't played against yet, so I'd play the replay and understand what I should've done and at what point. Mostly it was 9000 different rushes that players do, but it helped a lot to very quickly progress and get to D2 with 90 APM.
      Stopped playing since then but it works and I'm still fun of the series and watch videos.

      Have the same problem, specifically against skytoss toss.
      89% winrate vs zerg
      47% winrate vs terrain
      11% winrate vs protoss
      My rules vs toss that have helped slightly are as follows.
      1. Early lair in all protoss games (exception being early cheese)
      2. When lair is done immediately overseer scout every game
      3. During midgame squeeze out 20 zerglings and hotkey them. Then during any major engagement just hotkey and move the zerglings into the mainbase. Chances are at Diamond/low masters it's left open.

    • @glamodrama287
      @glamodrama287 2 місяці тому

      @@KulaGGin Oh I've tried, but they can just do 20 different builds and you have to respect every single one of them. And if you don't and get behind they just do whatever they want. Expanding non stop, cannons and batteries everywhere, storm, mass zelot runbys, carriers, archons, immortals and yeh good luck with that

    • @glamodrama287
      @glamodrama287 2 місяці тому

      @@liampett1313 Skytoss is not that big of a problem if you learn to do a good queen drop with roaches at 6/7 minutes. You can end the game pretty fast. Like if he opens up with a voidray you know he is gonna either do some kind of all in or go skytoss. And that's good for either of them. But ehm yeah ZvP is so bad. Let's keep balancing the game around serral though, while in regional tournaments there like 10 protoss, 3 terrans and 3 Zergs. I guess when there gonna be only protoss in tournaments they will win something

    I hit a hard block at 4.5k for like 2 years. Couldnt seem to improve, couldnt get anywhere, same thing.
    Stopped mass laddering, took 3 of the hours I laddered and put them into either watching streams, watchign replays, or just generally thinking about the game made a huge differences..
    2 months later I was at 4.7, 3 months after that i was at 5k. There is a big balance that you have to find for yourself in the types of training you do, became fun all over again.

    Been watching you play some amazing zerg games the last month of so, Mr. pig. Some technical, manoeuvring, close, high tech macro games, and it's been very inspiring and a pleasure. To be honest tho, was never a big fan of your random play. I remember your Protoss as quit basic, solid but nothing special and predictable. And your Terran as painfully bad and hard to watch :D Weirdly panicky and desperate and reactionary and low tech and half baked and never set up properly and falling apart, like you try to do 100 things, but end up doing 100 things badly instead of 50 things well. My take anyway. Good to see you really pwning up dem pros with zerg. keep it up :D

    I played during WoL and HotS but left way before LoV. When I play the AI now it's rough. Like.. I don't lose, obviously, but I am constantly around 100 apm, most games I am below that, I get supply blocked, I stock up on minerals and gas, I mess up the simplest build order and don't know what to do or how to adapt to anything.
    I basically win every game because the extreme AI is bad. It doesn't feel natural at all anymore... what can I do? I don't dare playing ladder as I am concerned I might just be so disappointed in myself I never start the game again.

      Dont worry play ladder. Most gold players now have lower apm lol. My 12 year old brother plays lader and he knows nothing about the game has like 50 apm and somhow wins as zerg in bronze he does not even know what is inject xd and his only strat is massing upgrades cuz he wants his soldiers to be strongest. When i started half year ago playing i had like 90 apm now i have like 180 most time and im low dimond and i just mass ling bane. There is a giant group of people in sc2 who dont know what they doing and just have fun you can beat them and learn.
