You would be right if we were talking about the pre-facelift z3... The face-lifted z3 came with m52tu or m54bxx with ms43 with an electronic tb. Love the disa valve in them but the e-tb was something to debate about although it was necessary as a whole intake air system.

Ya I know not in same league but at this time? Not much left. 65 now n I’ve had alpines, mgb-triumph omg so many fiat etc all the way to v12 xjs/ so many vettes too- l Allroad Audis but always wanted to try these! 007 car ya??🏆

I'd vote for the comparison with an NC hardtop.
Wonder if the throttle cable just need to be readjusted/tightened. It has a M54 engine, which should have very linear power and great response.
Its electronic throttle, version 1. A tune would fix it.
