I have a son wiyh duchenne muscular dystrophy he is basically paralyzed from the neck down. Barely has the ability to use his hands. And I thought I always it was so depressing he actually had issues when he was a teenager with depression. He's almost given up on life until one day girl named Brandy walked in his classroom. She was is a beautiful girl with Selective mutism and it has some autism. My son smiled at her and they started flirting and glass and eventually she came home to meet us. That was it to put together ever since. I never thought in my lifetime I would ever see Jeffrey marriage with children or any of that. They may never have kids and they may never get married officially but at least they have each other she's lived with us for the last several years because I'm his full-time caregiver. So I want to tell you that there's hope there's always hope you may not feel that your son would ever find someone but you never know. This is relatable on so many levels. I am also a 20 year old woman with cebral palsy. But I am a lot more moble than Anthea. But I also went though endless therapy sessions and a lot of surgeries. I feel like me and Anthea are proof that people with disabilities can have fulfilled lives. I went to highschool with all the other kids, I finished high school and am now living on my own with a care giver who comes once a week to help with household chores. And I am a university student. I also have an able-bodied partner. A lot of people in my live probably thought I would never get this far. But I did and I am very proud of myself. I will never take for granted what I have today and what I will achieve in the decates to come. I am just so thankful

This comment section is so depressing. Why do people find it so hard to believe someone can genuinely love someone with a disability without something bad behind it or alternatively think they must be some kind of saint if they do? I’m severely disabled but I have always taken care of my partner and given just as much to her as she gives to me, just in less obvious ways. Even when I can do nothing but lay in bed, she has needs I can meet like listening to her or comforting her or even asking my careers to do things that I would do if physically able and although it’s not actually my body doing the things she knows it’s from me, like when I choose for my careers to cook her favourite meals. In the early years of our relationship she did a lot physically for me and people thought she was some kind of saint, but in the last couple of years she has become very disabled too so we lay next to each other every day and both have to be more creative about ways we care for each other. Who is the saint now? Neither of us! We are both just flawed human beings who both have needs AND things to offer. People who are not disabled can even sometimes be the more needy one in a relationship, trust me. I have been in relationships in the past where I gave far more than I received even though I was the disabled one, because the other person was not emotionally healthy or very easy to be in a relationship with! Please don’t assume a persons body and physical abilities are always the biggest factor in what they have to offer or who they can be to others in their lives. It’s such an over simplistic way of looking at things.
You said this so beautifuly, thank you. I am in the same position. I have been severely disabled and when my husband and I met I could not walk and he had to take care of me like an infant. Iw in so much pain constantly. However I take care of him just as painstakingly if not more because I had to literally explain to him everything to do because he had no idea how to run a household. We have grown a lot since and have both healed but people would look at us from the outside and think I was doing nothing and he everything when in actual fact sometimes I was doing more. Thank you for the way you explained it I'm so glad to know I'm not alone. Oh and his family hated me and thought i was using him! I was thinking "gosh if only they knew how much work he is! Lol" but i LOVE him with ALL of my heart!♥☉ He is my sunshine.
Thank you for your comment. I am also disabled and my boyfriend gets ripped apart bc society norm is physical not mental & spiritual. It tells a lot of someone's true character. We are the fortunate ones, when we do find it, it's genuine.

Anthea is such a lovely woman and Michael has an amazing attitude and his good humour and the way he teases her is so cute, he treats her like she doesn't have a disability and that's what makes a huge difference. He treats her as an equal and you can tell that he genuinely loves her because he does it all out of love knowing the full responsibility before he got involved with her. Wishing you both a very happy marriage forever and beyond. Xxxxxxx
I am disabled, crutches and brace from polio. I met a fire Chief at work, we would’ve been married 28 years this year. He passed in 2019. A lot of people never find that, but when one does, it’s a blessing. Don’t forget, God sends us these remarkable people.
Celisar1 really? Because this girl who has been like this since she was a child found it. This man who doesn't have any disabilities looked past hers and loves her regardless. That says a lot.
Brianna Sanchez depends, if you don't have a face it becomes difficult for people to like you at First glance at least, or severely disfigured or disabled
+Brianna Sanchez I think it's possible for anyone, but not inevitable. There are no guarantees in life. And some people won't ever have a relationship (and that's maybe a bit more likely with some disabilities). But others will, you never know.
@Gengar Phantom With all due respect I don't think you can know how it is for him. How he feels. And also it is not time-consuming for him because she has caregivers and he does other things. She mentioned in the video that she wants him to do other things, that it would not be healthy for him to be a full-time caregiver and I agree. I am a person with a disability and my husband is my caregiver and I completely understand where they are coming from. We are happy just like this couple. We are truly in love.
I took it as nerves from being in front of a camera that'll air to an entire country, if not the world. Not necessarily an emotion of concern, but I'd totally be feeling the pressure with that many people "behind" the camera. Lol. Especially if you're already shy.
I have the utmost respect for people like Michael and other men who look past the disabilities and the wheelchair and see people for who they truly are.
Mariah Zalera I don't think that's fair to Anthea. To imply he's some kind of selfless angel just because he chose to date and marry a person with a disability is incredibly offensive and hurtful to disabled people. You're basically saying being with a disabled person is some kind of trial that no normal selfish person would choose. How do you think that makes people with disabilities feel? That someone has to be some kind of special selfless person to ever consider having a life with us? It's demeaning to imply that. What about Anthea brings to the relationship? And what she gives him? It's not a one sided relationship. They're equal partners in their eyes. He's a wonderful person for sure, but so is Anthea. Everyone has hardships and challenges in life. Some more than others. But as someone with a disability, we need to acknowledge that those who support and love us aren "putting up with us" or the "epitome of selfless". People with disabilities are as deserving and lovable as everyone else.
Jessica Gomes Have you any idea, how incredibly stressful, demanding and consuming (time, energy) it is to take care of such a heavily disabled person? To choose doing that for the rest of your life is indeed something very, very, very rare and needs a very special person to do so,
@@AttitudeLive This is to ALL the RUDE People out their NEGATIVE COMMENTS ,IF YOU CANT say anything Good about a DISABLED person in a relationship with an able bodied person , then DONT say anything at all , keep your thoughts and opinions to yourselves Posting from LONDON ENGLAND

This is actually the most beautiful relationship I have ever seen. I couldn't stop crying at how amazing their connection is. I could only hope to find the same.
for all unbelievers and people saying hateful things...this woman has a perfectly functional mind and did you stop to consider that there relationship is built on more than something physical? There is a good possibility that there will come a time in your own life that intimacy is not what is first achieved or expected. I feel sorry for anyone that holds your own relationship to an ideal that can never be achieved. Maybe it is easy to say he will leave or you feel pity on their relationship for whatever reason...because you or your spouse would be the first to turn tail when something bad happens. It's called life and commitment...you know for better or for worse? Your comments and thoughts on the subject are more of a reflection on your self and own relationships than you know.
Tonya go soak your head. Your comment is appalling. As someone who knows many disabled persons who are married, they are quality people who met other quality people. Based upon your idiotic comment, I'd say you are not among them.
The ableism in the comment section here is truly disgusting, and really shows off the worst that humanity has to offer. It's so bad that even disabled people like Anthea think of dating another disabled person as "settling", as if being any different than the norm somehow makes you less than. I really hope she doesn't think that about herself. That made me so sad. And then the fact that everyone assumes her husband has a disability fetish. Anthea is beautiful, although people do not have to be conventionally attractive to deserve and to be able to find love. These two are able to communicate with each other, and that's how their relationship grew. If someone "looks" typical, and appears able-bodied, but is mentally ill, are they somehow also not deserving of love? Do people with chronic and terminal illnesses also not deserve love? If your seemingly "healthy" friend or loved one became sick or disabled, would your feelings for them suddenly change? Where do people draw the line? Anthea loves herself, her husband loves her, and anyone who finds something wrong with that is truly perverse. ALL relationships require work and sacrifice. Stop projecting your own personal failings onto disabled people, or anyone who's different than you.
I wouldnt judge or blame Anthea for prefering "normal" guys, it is just the practical side of life where two severely disabled people would need to be taken care of 24/7, but in this situation they are independent as a couple. And he is an amazing young man. And the fantastic technology that allows her to speak also shows her sweet personality. Best of luck for both of them and good health for us all!
ĶTV that’s what I was thinking makes total sense to try to find someone that can enrich and support her life in a practical sense first. It’s no different to what the rest of us do - when I left uni I was after a graduate or hard working person myself because I wanted a particular partner for a certain life style! Everyone strives first for their ideal whatever that maybe - whether they admit that from behind their keyboards is another matter lol
What a beautiful love story. Makes our everyday trivial "obstacles" seem much less important. Here's a beautiful woman and all she wants in the world is to be able to speak & move her body correctly. Makes me feel ashamed for even complaining about everyday things. God has certainly blessed both of you by having you in each others' lives.
What a absolutely beautiful love story ❤ really bought tears to my eyes, with happiness! Life is so cruel such a wonderful lady who doesn’t deserve this disability.. I’m so glad she is happy.
Stef Doyle I was lucky that a friend recommended I try working as a caregiver. To my surprise I ended up managing two group homes and it was a very inspiring and humbling because I quickly realized that it was we the majority with our narrow ideas of what love and normal is that truly hinders people with special needs. Give people the supports they need and get out of the way. Also, LOVE her dry erase board. You tell ‘em honey !! Your life your rules 😉
What a fantastic beautiful couple they are! Just because someone has a disability doesn't mean they can't love and just because she can't speak doesn't mean they can't communicate, I too am disabled I have curvature of the lower spine (scoliosis) and my lower lumbar from my L1 to my S1 all my discs are bulged and herniated so as u can imagine I am in constant pain and discomfort and have to take morphine liquid 4 times a day so some days I sleep a lot too and can't be woken up sometimes, I had an accident when I was 14-15 yrs old but it didn't effect me till I turned 28 and then my life gradually went down hill, I went for a scan and was told that I had my condition it broke my heart because I had 3 kids at the time and my partner is 4 yrs younger than me, but he's fantastic they told me I'd never be able to work again and that one day soon I'd be wheelchair bound, but he still loves me and takes care of me and our kids, we've also fostered a family members son too and he's a great dad to him too, I'm so glad I had my kids when I did and I'm so glad that I have my husband too, even though he knew my condition is degenerative and I'm going to need more and more care as time goes on he still went and married me! And when I tell him I'm lucky to have him he says no we're lucky to have each other!! Sending all my love and best wishes for the future to this amazing and cute couple, I loved watching this it made my heart melt xxxx ❤️💚💛❤️️💜💙🍀🍀
I can’t even imagine that this will happen. Michael is really selfless and he really loves his wife. But I was moved watching Anthea says this, "This is the only body I've got. If I don't love it, who will?" That was a very powerful words that I've ever heard.
Just loved this story of two people who are so much in love truly inspirational ,Michael you are such an amazing young man to care for beautiful Anthea the way you do ,it takes a very special person to be able to do this ,Anthea i admire your courage and determination in every way and good luck with Boccia i had never heard of this game until watching your video ,Thank you so much for sharing ,wish you both a wonderful Xmas xx
Rosco Pico pretty sure if you ended up severely disabled in a wheelchair and had someone look after you like he does to his wife he would be your "hero" too, give up and stop being so nasty
Having watched over 90,000 videos and researched Mental Health and Disabilities and Science and Technology since I was 14. This video shows that there is always someone for you no matter what, I use AAC all the time to communicate to the group. I had my first client at 17 I helped her when her Mother died. The guy in this video needs a huge high five and a smile for doing great . One in a million mate ;-)
You two are adorable! I have so much admiration and respect for the both of you. Michael, you’re an amazing man; you’re patience, tolerance, unconditional love, gentleness, and good attitude are things everybody should strive for daily. Anthea, I don’t know how you’ve kept such a chipper demeanor throughout all your struggles. You are such a strong and courageous woman! May you both have a long and fulfilling marriage.
Relationship goals. You can see the love between them when they look at each other. He has eyes for no other woman and she only sees him. It is so sweet and pure.
Oh my goodness! The way Anthea and Michael look into each other's eyes makes me so happy! They clearly love and care for each other so much. I wish them a life time of joy!
At 1st I assumed this man had an alternate motive. But after watching the whole doc I realized their love is real. They have this deep connection. it's obvious my assumption was way off. I feel bad for prejudging.
Anetha is a truly remarkable lady who is a great inspiration to people who with her beautiful smile and her effervescence personality she would be a delight to everyone she meets . I am so happy that she has met the love of her life in Micheal and wish her all the best of luck in her pursuit in boccia .
I got a lot of smiles from this video, also a lot of understanding about people with disabilities as Anthea. Nice smile you have, Anthea. Awesome man, Michael and amazing woman, Anthea. Unspoken communication you can't get any better than that. I remember when I was a child and we did something our parents didn't like, my mother gave us a look, that was unspoken, we knew exactly what she was saying . I think you are soulmates, unspoken communication proves it, in my opinion. Your power walks back, when Michael plays too much, was hilarious, had me laughing out loud. I just want to let you know....you are a great couple. Thanks for sharing

You are such a wonderful brave young lady, and you are independent which you should be I loved hearing you laugh and smile, you are beautiful inside and out xx bless you stay strong Debbie and family
Wow! That’s true love right there..I could never do this or have the patience.. and this might sound mean and I don’t mean it to be but would never get to the point of even falling in love with someone this disabled. Happy for you both.
Anthea & Michael, thank you SO MUCH for sharing your story with us!!! What a special priviledge for you to allow us to look into these personal moments of your lives... Anthea you are SO right, you & Michael appear that you truly DO make a MAGNIFICENT TEAM!!!! May God ALWAYS bless your socks off!!!!!Each of you seem SO AMAZING as individual's & as a couple!!!😉 I've never seen you all before. My husband has Muscular Dystrophy...diagnosed 20 years into our marriage. Caregiving is hard work...you are such an inspiration to me. He is using mobility equipment ..what will be coming soon is the Hoyer and the custom power chair. Blessings to both of you.
Simply AMAZINING!!! Okay Anthea. You're going to have to share with us, HOW you got such a good man like Michael. We who have NO disabilities can't even find half as good as man as Michael.
Loved this episode! I smiled from the moment it started until the very end. How awesome are these two :) I learned a lot about cerebral palsy, how capable people who have the condition are. Just love this channel!
Despite having a milder form of cerebral palsy (I have spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy), I can understand what this woman is going through and how difficult things are for her. The more severe forms of cerebral palsy can make it difficult for a person do things on their own, but that doesn't mean that their cognitive abilities are affected. She's clearly a very intelligent woman who's able to make her own decisions even though it feels like her mind is trapped inside a body that wouldn't cooperate with her. It's a shame that people who have the most severe cerebral palsy forms are treated like they aren't cognitively capable. Yes it is true that in some cases cognitive skills are affected by the brain injury or related circumstance that caused the form of cerebral palsy to develop, but not always. Besides I would love to meet Anthea and get to know her. For me it's actually pretty difficult to find other people who have cerebral palsy here in Phoenix Arizona.
I always love interable relationships when they both just light up around each other she was just as happy seeing him as when she was walking omg beautiful

Brianna Sanchez depends, if you don't have a face it becomes difficult for people to like you at First glance at least, or severely disfigured or disabled
nicolochan leo
+Brianna Sanchez I think it's possible for anyone, but not inevitable. There are no guarantees in life. And some people won't ever have a relationship (and that's maybe a bit more likely with some disabilities). But others will, you never know.
Rule one on the 'instructions' board:
DO NOT TOUCH MY PHONE!
:') hahahaha
Mark Sneddon hahaha that made me LOL, she's og!!
Honestly that’d be mine too, lmao. But I love that her personality comes through even on an instruction board for caretakers.
Apparently she has paid caregivers messing with her personal cell phone while she can't do anything to stop them, which is obviously unacceptable.
Daleen Jones ... what’s the question?
wow its like we watched the exact same video???
Is it me or does he always look like he is about to burst out laughing? Guess he is just a happy guy
Phoebe Mclellan OMG! ROFLMAO!! Nailed it girl!🤣🤣🤣😆
He's in love
@Gengar Phantom
With all due respect I don't think you can know how it is for him.
@@pattym9182 true and he looks like a really sweet and possibly shy person to begin with. I think he's lovely♥
For me, HE is a Perfect human and simple DEVOTED MAN and a Husband. High 10 to this amazing MAN!
Great wife great husband.... Proud of both of you... Love you guys...
7:57 holy crap she looked so cute in that picture with the two boys.
Thank you for watching Taylor!
I have the utmost respect for people like Michael and other men who look past the disabilities and the wheelchair and see people for who they truly are.
they help me to think differently about myself. I love their story.
Thanks for watching Ju!
Now I can't get a relationship that would even treat me a good as he treats her. Such amazing love.
You can tell this man loves her he's such a good man 💕❤️💕
She is a lovely and he a great husband to her ,
wow michael is the epitome of selfless. IF there was a heaven he'd have a first-class ticket there.
Mariah Zalera That big if 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching Mariah! Hope you enjoyed the episode!
Dallas Wise lol
Jessica Gomes
Have you any idea, how incredibly stressful, demanding and consuming (time, energy) it is to take care of such a heavily disabled person? To choose doing that for the rest of your life is indeed something very, very, very rare and needs a very special person to do so,
Awe! This made me cry!!! These are stories we need to see more of! 😭😭😭
Thanks for your comment Nicole! We hope you enjoyed and watch more!
There are no words to describe how wonderful these two people are. I'm sure I will be thinking about them for a long time to come. They are the kind of people that you can never forget.
I wish them a happy, healthy life together ❤ ❤
Michael is amazing you can see how much love he has for his beloved wife,
every time he looks at her he has love in his eyes.😍🕊
BEAUTIFUL COUPLE! SO HAPPY FOR THEM!
Wait!! Did she win?! I hope she did! They're awesome together! What an amazing husband the universe has sent her.
I would love to be able to have a man like Michael , he has a LOT on his hands with Anthea to look. after , but he seems to take it all in his stride , GOD BLESS you BOTH
Two very wonderful people--they will always be winners!
Absolutely adorable, you can really see the love in their eyes when they look at eachother
This is actually the most beautiful relationship I have ever seen. I couldn't stop crying at how amazing their connection is. I could only hope to find the same.
This is so beautiful, I'm so happy for them! I pray that they have a long , joyful marriage. 💜
Thank you for watching!
..🙌🏾🙌🏾💗💗💗😻😻😻
for all unbelievers and people saying hateful things...this woman has a perfectly
functional mind and did you stop to consider that there relationship is built on more than something physical? There is a good possibility that there will come a time in your own life that intimacy is not what is first achieved or expected. I feel sorry for anyone that holds your own relationship to an ideal that can never be achieved. Maybe it is easy to say he will leave or you feel pity on their relationship for whatever reason...because you or your spouse would be the first to turn tail when something bad happens. It's called life and commitment...you know for better or for worse? Your comments and thoughts on the subject are more of a reflection on your self and own relationships than you know.
Thanks for your support and for watching Radiation Therapist!
The Radiation Therapist there are creative ways to be intimate. I'm sure they're a passionate couple. Both have endless amounts of energy
The Radiation Therapist he has a fetish for handicapped people!!!
Why is it gross? Disabled people have sex, get over it!! My crippled ass has sex, too. Bet you are prude
Tonya go soak your head. Your comment is appalling. As someone who knows many disabled persons who are married, they are quality people who met other quality people. Based upon your idiotic comment, I'd say you are not among them.
beautiful story. I'm glad she got her dream wedding. they both are so lucky to have each other.
This is heaven sent...GOD BLESS THEM
The ableism in the comment section here is truly disgusting, and really shows off the worst that humanity has to offer.
You are so sweet!
@Malini yes, 100% yes
Malini, I wish everyone in the world had the open mind and rationality that you do. I wish that so much, because you're absolutely right.
This story is more beautifull than Cinderella..really made me cry..God almighty...God bless this couple..
Thank you for watching Maya! We agree!
Meme Mey YESS
I cried too
What a beautiful love story. Makes our everyday trivial "obstacles" seem much less important. Here's a beautiful woman and all she wants in the world is to be able to speak & move her body correctly. Makes me feel ashamed for even complaining about everyday things. God has certainly blessed both of you by having you in each others' lives.
Thanks for your kind words Lauren! Hope you enjoyed the episode!

Today I turn 32..watching this made me appreciate life even more and respect others.
You two are a beautiful couple. Very beautiful!!!
What a absolutely beautiful love story ❤ really bought tears to my eyes, with happiness! Life is so cruel such a wonderful lady who doesn’t deserve this disability.. I’m so glad she is happy.
Wow. So beautiful. He is so kind and selfless. So happy for them. True love.
Her comments about body image are so insightful! I would love to have half the confidence she has❤
She truly is amazing isn't she! Thanks again for watching Clai, good to see you are enjoying the episodes!
She looked so beautiful in her wedding! 😫😫😫🥰🥰🥰
Sooo glad they recorded all that they did over the years..great to watch

I was lucky that a friend recommended I try working as a caregiver.
Thanks for watching ! Hope you enjoyed!
Wow. Now that's a story I'd like to hear more often.
Thanks for watching Elle!
they are an amazing and adorable couple.
Thanks for watching Mayra! Hope you enjoyed!
Beautiful. full of hope and love. Thank you for sharing your life.
Elaine Tungatoa you're so right. This guy has earned the right to be considered a hero and unique.
Elaine Tungatoa
so nice
Rosco Pico pretty sure if you ended up severely disabled in a wheelchair and had someone look after you like he does to his wife he would be your "hero" too, give up and stop being so nasty
Rosco , Michael is a hero and you are a zero.....you suck
O can't even imagine the courage Anthea demonstrates day after day while remaining joyful.
She is such a beautiful person inside and out! So many of us could learn from her!
I'm crying a river! This is one of THE MOST beautiful stories and people I've ever seen. Many of God's blessings to them both. Love truly cover's all.
Your relationship is AMAZING! You guys communicate so well!
absolutely beautiful both of them
Oh i remember Anthea! She came over to dinner once with a friend, shes amazing! so much funny!
Thanks for sharing Liz, hope you enjoyed the episode!
Its amazing the love between these two people. It speaks to the best of what it is to be human
This proves, love always prevails. Such a beautiful and heart warming story.
Hope you enjoyed the episode Redinna! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for you comment Sara, hope you enjoyed the episode!
Hope you enjoyed the video Mercedez! 😄
Hey, that's what these videos are for. To help get rid of prejudice.
Love transforms every heart and you to have had a great transformation! Just love watching!
Anetha is a truly remarkable lady who is a great inspiration to people who with her beautiful smile and her effervescence personality she would be a delight to everyone she meets . I am so happy that she has met the love of her life in Micheal and wish her all the best of luck in her pursuit in boccia .
Thanks for watching Kylie! Hope you enjoyed!
Thanks for sharing
this is the purest most beautiful love i've ever seen!!! Anthea is a beauty and too wise for this world and Michael is damn cutie! really melts my heart. only had smiles as i watched this

Thanks for watching !Hope you enjoyed our channel and keep coming back! 😀
Now they know how to enjoy life...most awesome...lovely couple.
I always love interable relationships when they both just light up around each other she was just as happy seeing him as when she was walking omg beautiful
