A friend of mine and myself agree that if you guys ran this song with david draiman on the same song, you guys would sound absolutely sick together. I put a mix together with my friend and put david in background vocals, it's intense. Still, your version is better than the tears version. Keep it up.
I feel like I've finally found a cover of this song that respects the original. All this unnecessary quietening, all these tonal shifts, all of that shit that just ruins other covers for me- I can't find them here. And it's not that those covers are bad, quite the opposite. Many of them have great production and sound, but to me it's just too far from the original song to really work for me. It's more like a remix, almost. To me this is exactly what a cover should be. Same tone, key, and rhythmic style as the original, but allowing the new musicians to put the unique spin on it that simply comes with the use of new and different instrumentation and vocal style. In other words, it's different because you're not the original artist, not because you're trying to turn the song into something else. That's my kind of cover.
