Awesome video! About a year ago I picked up a Duran Duran (I believe self titled) 8 track in horrible, unplayable condition. No comps. Priced at $100 on eBay just to see and it sold overnight. Love 8 tracks!
Never even paid attention to the quadrophonic gonna have to look for those found more than 600 8 track tapes in a storage unit thanks for the info gonna start listing them next week.
There is a resale shop here in town that sell 8 tracks for 25 cents a piece. I'm sure they are all cherry picked by now but I when I go back I'm going to take a closer look at them! Thanks for sharing your information!
By any chance those tapes are from North American Tape Products I worked there in the very early 70's it was a boot leg tape shop what a blast for a 17 year old kid fun memory's
hi my mate has 100s of quad tapes time to time i bid on the same tape he has so if you know people and they are likely to bdn them best to talk to them i have seen new sealed a tracks i missed out on alot from a record shop the old man pasted away leaving gear not it's a good plan to know who got what so if some one has a fall and needs to sell this how i get my gear pallets of it betacam decks were the last deal
I collect 8-track tapes. Don’t worry if they do not play - most collectors know how to restore them to playable condition. Besides 70’s Rock tapes, be on the lookout for tapes with 80’s pop. These were only sold by places like Columbia House Record club since 8-tracks were out of favor by the early 80’s. Think Madonna, Michael Jackson, Buggles, J Giles band and etc... Since they are a bit rare they can fetch good prices.
Commonwealth Flipper 8-Tracks fizzled out in Europe faster then they did here in the US. They adopted the cassette tape faster then we did - around 1972ish. I pick up a few from Sweden and Germany now and then. Quad tapes on a quality system sounds really goods. The audio engineers on a good quad tape were not shy about having the music swirl round you in different directions. Quad was always an expensive niche market - so not as many tapes/players were created - driving up the prices today. Besides music, I like to collect comedy routines on 8-track from Rusty Warren and the like.... many were not made available in other formats...
Do you happen to know the value of the collector cases to hold the tracks? I have 3 metal collector cases. I have the American flag, snoopy and Budweiser cases.
I buy 8tracks all the time even new releases cause they're still making them..i have 2 disagree with u on the Pink Floyd for example that it's not worth that much cause of the shape etc...u have 2 make sure that there's no bubbling on the label cover etc...& that the pads are intact & in good shape & don't have 2 be replaced etc...the roller is in good shape especially if it's rubber etc...& if u can tell see if the splices r in good shape....8tracks can sound great if u have a good deck & take care of them in fact I just bought a brand new 8track player that also has cd & USB port...
It definitely helps. Just bought 50+ 8 tracks for $1 at a local auction. Haven't looked any up yet. Seems to be all junk. Confident I can make my money back though👍
I have 2 of those bratty cats, but the female is far worse at getting into things/places she shouldn't. Oh well, gotta love them Thanks for sharing!!
The dog and the Cats are all female. LOL
Boy does this bring back memories from the 70's. Had about 200 8-tracks stolen from me.
Thanks for the info! A local thrift always has a tub of 8 tracks, next visit I'll have new knowledge!

worth a look
Get em all. Even the ones that have lame music on em. You never know when you wanna dub AeroSmith over boring organ music
@@8tapetrackii446 great idea! Thanks!
Really enjoyed your video. Very informative and to the point.
I've found that grouping them is the way to go..
Essentially exactly what's on the video...
A lot of filler and throw in s cople diamond
I have some new, sealed 8 tracks from the 70's, they won't move. I think it all depends on the artist more than the condition.
By any chance those tapes are from North American Tape Products I worked there in the very early 70's it was a boot leg tape shop what a blast for a 17 year old kid fun memory's
Did they pay you above or below the table. LOL
Yup. It is all about the artist.

You are very welcome.

Thank you so much for your imput. Tell me more about Quads and or European ones. Were many made over seas?

Gotta love Doobie Brothers, and Pink Floyd...blast from the past..😁
I love the Doobie brothers for sure.

The instance you said quadrophonic, I ran to my items and grabbed the 8 tracks I had, haha. None are quadrophonic, lol.
pretty rare.
Thanks for the info on quads, I will keep a look out.
No problem.
I wouldn't sell the case unless it was to replace it with one that is bigger or smaller. Without a case, there is no place for even one cartridge.
learned something about those old time tapes :) never knew about quads. Love the guest appearance of gray cat :)
Boots is her name. Thank you for watching.

Keep us updated.
I've sold a ton of 8 tracks on ebay
I normally don’t care for cats but that one... pretty cute personality! 💕
I know. You like chickens. LOL
Commonwealth Flipper 😂
Good stuff - thanks for the education
Thanks so much friend.
Commonwealth Flipper I’ve sold some 8-tracks, but didn’t know about the Quadrophonic difference. Amazing tip!
What makes the Quadraphonics more valuable?
I don't know other than just rarity I guess.
Its because it's Basically early surround sound. I don't think its worth buying unless you got the money and player for it
Great info!
Thanks for Bolo on the 8 tracks. I know I've bypassed these at garbage sales 😁
No problem. Most aren't good
thanks for the tip on 8 tracks!!!
NO problem.
I found one the other day Michael Jackson “BAD” 8 track tape but don’t know if it’s valuable
Sealed
SEALED. I have know doubt that it is valuable.
@The EsKuichi Is it for sale?
What’s the best way to ship those single tapes ? I saw some U2 tapes selling high ! But I see shipping is cheap on these how is everyone shipping ??
Media mail shipping on these for sure
Padded envelope or boxes just curious haven’t done media mail in forever
My problem is they say update your listing I go in to update and it's locked wth. How do u update ????
Do you have an offer out on that listing?
Thanks for sharing 👍❤️
