8-track tapes are amazing! They're so fun to collect, they're fun to fix, and they actually sound really good when you have good quality tapes and equipment. I've had my Zenith Allegro all-in-one unit for 12 years and it still plays perfectly. It has an 8-track recorder, record player and stereo receiver, along with about 80 tapes.
Love that collection! No way I'll hit that number but kudos to that dude's passion and focus to have such a collection. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 My little 8-track library is microscopic in comparison. lol

Nice collection! But some of the 8 track tapes appear to be in rough shape, and they are missing the original boxes. I see a truck stop bootleg 8 track there too.
here is the point- after the master tape ORIGINAL MASTER THAT SPEED MIGHT BE TO 30 ips. the next master tape for pressing is to 15 ips. commercialy 8 track has a better quality than a CD or an LP. the only cons is the tedius to maintain and keep it playing. splicing and remplacing the pad and foil. but 8 track is an amazing format that really beats. 8 track quality, for example is the same as a SACD
8 tracks only need repair because you need to realize they are 50 years old and have been abused and abandoned for 40 of those years. Everything rots. Once you clean the tape and put new foil, felt, and rollers on, they are good for the rest of your lifetime. You only have to repair them once.

Didn't know that a Chevy Celebrity had an eight track player, much less a cassette and eight track player!
