- (PART 1)
Well the time finally came where I had to make a decision. Do I get rid of my favorite most comfortable boots? or try to bring them back from the dead?
I think I made the right decision. Come along with me and let me show you what is possible when it comes to recrafting foot wear. This 2 part video goes through a lot of details explained so you can get a better understanding of what I do for a living. Thanks for watching.

I think saying “I just do repairs” is selling yourself a bit short Steve. My local boot place “just does repairs”……. well, they put new heels on and occasional missing rivets. You, Sir, are an artist and magician.
Burst out laughing at myself, as found myself saying “not too shabby” 😀
I bought a pair of Alden Indy boots because of this channel, and I absolutely love them. I have flat feet and they are the most comfortable boots that I own.
Thanks for everything you do Steve.
All the best Curt
I’m considering getting a pair of 403
Steve, my father came here from Greece and was a furrier for many years and seeing you work with your hands, work with leather, take things apart and put them back together brings back memories.
That's a person who does horseshoes, right?
@@jonfetzek3053 that's a farrier. A furrier makes fur coats.
@@dannyh5937 oh cool. I didn't know that has a specific title. My aunt used to do that when I was little. I still have a pair of rabbit fur mits she made
@@jonfetzek3053 it used to be a very large industry up until the early 2000s. The garment district in NYC was a bustling hub for the fur industry and helped many immigrants make a living. Unfortunately, like everything else that's handmade in this country, as well as changing times, there's only a handful left in the USA.
@@dannyh5937 Same thing back here in Greece Danny. However, the last 2,3 years shoemakers start to appear again and lots of people start to support them.
Beautiful!!!!!! (oh, and I love your pair of little scissors) //Lars
Those split toe suede ones are cool. I normally don't like shoes that look like that, but I think it really works for boots.
When I am wearing my Redwings or Thursday boots I know I am wearing boots. When I wear my Alden Indy boots I forget that I am wearing boots. They
really are that comfortable.
Thanks for the insight on boots Steve.
Curt
Fantastic Steve, Part 2 here we go literally Let’s Continue 👍.
Hands down my favorite videos that you make are you working on your own boots
BEDO'S resurrection magic begins 🙏✌️❤️💪 let's continue
Holy crap that's dedication for one pair of boots.... those things are brutally worn out lol But if anyone can fix it it's you
Can't watch now cause... well, work. But!! Oh hell yeah! TWO videos for tonight's entertainment venue!
Every shoe you do, you do times two. I'm doubly impressed!!!
Steve, I've been in the process of making my own shoes and your videos have been an amazing resource. Thank you for sharing so much of your work.
If you're making them with Steve's help, so to speak, they're going to be bulletproof. 😉
@@angelalane8660 I've looked at a lot of sources but I've watched him so much that it helped identify parts and techniques to use.
Love watching you bring newness back to the footwear. Thanks.
Let's continue 👍💫
My next pair boots will be a pair of Alden Indy boots. If they are worn by Steve, then they must be terrific!
You will love them, he's not kidding when he says they are super comfortable. Right out of the box...
Paul you won’t regret it. Indy’s are the best/most comfortable boots I’ve worn/owned.
Woooo double feature 🤗
Truly reborn into high premium quality NEW Boots! Neat to watch you remake your own personal boots & be SO excited to put finished creations on your feet!!! Ty!
I see you in your casual gear, I think you are either a mafia don or a British football hooligan as a side gig.
Keep plugging away sir, another outstanding piece of work.
Blue Shell Cordovan, can't wait to see THOSE, I bet that will be BEAUTIFUL!!!
Steve! Thank you for sharing some of your favorite boots!!! Awesome!
A hug from Spain🇪🇸
I think I really like the explanation of taking the boot apart that I missed. I watch your videos, so I think I can take apart a shoe now…lol…maybe.
OMG gorilla boots!! I used to live in my rillas. I miss those boots I was bummed when they closed.
i was gutted the video ended but then a saw part 2 right there in the list so i get to continue 😜 excellent.
I would really love to see you make the mockup pair and the cordovans maybe make it a bit longer?. I love to see you do your magic
It always makes me chuckle when you mock your hater . . . (in a squeaky voice) "HEY MAN, why do you. . . !!!" Thank you so much for your videos, they are informative and entertaining. I stumbled across your channel years ago. Your videos have helped me with being at home for extended periods of time.
that blue suede boot with the split toe is super cool
Now THIS is my kind of rebuild video !! Love the nuts/bolts part of how it's built. Good to see these hoof-covers finally getting some well deserved lovin'.
My Whites First Avenue chocolate suede derbies arrived today. Danite sole
Preach about reinforcing speed hooks my man. I had two fall off the same side of one boot… terrible!
Let’s continue!
Amazing resto, Steve! And KUDOS for allowing "Complainer Guy" to play devil's advocate yet again.
Crap I missed it was a 2 part video! I was so surprised when it ended. I was all in for a 2hr video! Thanks for sharing all of this!
Omg I can’t wait to see the blue Shell boots you make! I watch TheElegantOxford here on YT and he posted his blue Shell AE boots and holy crap, I’m in love. Look forward to what you create!
I needed this today, time to put on a nice coffee and relax, thank you
Much love Sir, always a pleasure to watch you work x
Settling down for a happy lazy Sunday watching my fave youtube channels--was delighted to see this *two part* video from you where you work your magic on these well loved, worn boots. It's going to be a good day...
Crazy just was looking today for the Alden suede boots.by the way great video
Started watching this video late. Should I go for part 2? Of course I should…
Enjoying this Steve. Onto part 2
Shine on.
I’m saving up some money to send you 2 pairs of shoes. One cap toe work boot type thing, and one pair of Alden plain toe that I got on eBay that needs some love. I can tell how much you take pride in your work. I know you will do awesome work.
Thanks for that sleeved speedhook detail. Good approach/experiment!
They are all beautiful boots . The cobbler definitely needs to wear good boots 🥸 oh let’s get going , haha .
I worked a post machine for 30 years x
You can get bench top 'jack' stands for lasts
Exceptional details and craftsmanships.
Love seeing you work on your own shoes for a change, Steve, Bedocizing them well worn Aldens with a little TLC!.
Between repairing/rebuilding these and the test pair you’ll build, you should be good to go with that Shell pair. Can’t wait!!!!!
Hello my friend Steve,, I see why you're taking the whole boot 👢🥾 apart so you can make a pattern for your new blue boots love 💕💕😘😘 you lots like family and may God bless you always and forever and always keep you extra safe and healthy these days hope to hear back from you soon thanks 🤗😊😊
Steve, you take shoes apart and rebuild them all the time, so you can make shoes. You just hadn’t previously made them from scratch. I’m looking forward to seeing the shell cordovan pair you make using the pattern you make from these Indy boots.
I am honestly surprised you haven’t made a mold / last of your foot long ago.
I think your pair looked just fine. Where i came from, we got a saying - a bootmaker without boots, in sort of sarcastic manner.
Awesome! Enjoyed hearing you talk about your own choices for what to wear and working on your own kicks!
You are such a humbled yet skilled craftsman. Love the video!
Awesome job Steve, going to binge watch and go right to part 2!!!
Loving this series, can't wait for the next one
If you ever get a chance, would you do a show comparing the differences in the way American and British shoes are sized?
Those boots look like they could tell some stories. 👍🏼
He likes boots and he cannot lie
It pains me to see your hands shake and if I could, I would give you my steady hands in a heart beat, that’s how much I care and wish you the best my friend
Thank you friend but I’m ok, I promise
Wow! Looking forward to watching part 2.
Would like to hear a longer discussion some time, about the relative skill sets of shoe/boot maker vs shoe/boot repairer. I'm guessing that some of the skills are common, while others are particular.

HI, STEEEVE!!! I am in 💕💕💕with those blue suede boots!!!
Hello Steve 🙋🏽. How are you feeling today ❓ I hope that you are doing well. Have a Awesome Day ‼️.
You too
@@BedosLeatherworksLLC 👍🏽😊
Love watching your videos, what a nice and needed skills you have i always tell people to save good shoes and repair them👍🇨🇱🇺🇸
Awesome!!!! I’m going to second part.
Now you know how bootmakers at nicks work in the restoration department.
I love the shoemaking art; much respect. You're doing really good work, as far as I can see.lol
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your passion!
Looking good , now for pt.2
Are you going to do a video when the owner sees the boots for the 'first' time?
Haha!! A bit of split screen editing. Can’t wait. Specially if he’s a complaining customer. Could be a classic bit of comedy footage.
A bedos double bill, prefect evening watching ☕️
LET'S CONTINUE
Nice place to work I'm from Guatemala
Steveroo, alias the "bad ass repair artisan" does it again...! This is not shoe repair, this is shoe, boot, jacket and bag artistry...!!! GG...IN
I am so excited to watch! Thanks for sharing
Can't wait let;s continue :)
Interesting I’m learning so much thank you
I hate those staples to Steve, and hate it more when you leave them in any shoes you repair. 😋
So far, so good!
STEVE, THERE WILL BE A PART 2, WRIGHT I HOPE, IFSO GREAT VIDEO, GREAT JOB, TELL EVERYBODY HELLO...
its literally next to part one
"Let's continue" {thumbs up} -- I nominate this as a positive, encouraging meme for when things get difficult. We'll put that on your statue :)
Steve, brilliant rebuild. Would you be willing to share which speed hooks and eyelets you use?
i had speed hooks once .i now call them trip hooks or fall on your face hooks lol
Very cool boots!
Along for the ride
Long Videos
Another great feat of shoe engineering I say engineering because nothing else describes the skills you demonstrate As to the last perhaps drilling a hole and tapping it and screw in a bolt to stop it moving around JUST A THOUGHT from one who cannot do what you do to leather goods
Steve: The Alden and Florsheim Imperial king
Awesome
Awesome
Awesome
Love watching u Steve!
As usual very educational .... great work Steve ...
Did you give your self a discount on job ? Lol
I knew this was going to be good 👍
Looking at your work mate, I'm so sorry you are far from my place, Geneva Switzerland, cause I could have some projects for you man, ok c'est la vie, maybe one day...
Say, man it's not a Rolex that you have on your wrist, is it?
As a life long hiker, backpacker and mountaineer, I am no stranger to boots. I normally dont like speed hooks. They tend to snag on brush when you need to walk through it. As always, love your channel
That beard is getting whiter, Santa.:))
he's my favorite shoemaker 🤪
I have a bottle of Bick 4 on my nightstand.
Love it
