LSU RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire
Junior 5’7 207 lbs
It might sound crazy to call a playmaker on a National Championship team “underrated,” but LSU RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire still manages to get overlooked as a draft prospect. He’s a dual-threat difference maker, who is quick & runs bigger than he is. He’s not afraid of contact & will hit the hole without hesitation. Joe Burrow wasn’t the only who took a big leap forward. While people will say having Burrow helped Edwards-Helaire, the same can be said vice versa. Without a consistent rushing game, defenses would only focus on stopping the pass. With CEH doing his thing, defenses had to account for him. On the year, Edwards-Helaire rushed for 1,414 yards & 16 TDs while also getting 453 yards receiving.

he a small guy, but he is bouncing off tacklers. however, i'm not convinced he's gonna last a full season. if he falls to the 2nd i'll grab him, but definitely not in the 1st.

Of all the picks in the draft, this one makes me the most happy. Throughout the process all you heard was JK Dobbins here, JK Dobbins there or Jonathan Taylor and nobody was talking about how much of an IT factor this guy has. Singlehandedly made Alabama look foolish. CEH is gonna make an awesome, versatile back in the league!

I think the Chiefs just got themselves arguably the best RB in college football. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is a multi faceted RB and with how the Chiefs do things offensively just gave Mahomes another huge weapon. Edwards-Helaire is without a doubt in my opinion the top RB because of his ability as a receiver. He had 55 receptions with 1,414 yards on 215 carries and 17 total TDs. He had more yards per carry than Taylor, Dobbins and Swift with 6.6. Many are saying he could be a Priest Holmes clone. The Chiefs could be really scarier now offensively.

You will NOT regret this pick. Edwards-Helaire occasionally caught passes from Burrow as well. He's a dual-talented guy, and gave Alabama's defense fits last fall.
