This was the best location/removal video for a Kia Sorento BCM I found. Yep, verified with my scan tool all inputs good but weak output to the shift interlock solenoid on our 2017. I should have recorded it but didn't when replacing mine but as an addendum, if you do remove the passenger side dash trim and fasteners, you can pull the lower dash away far enough to easily snatch the BCM out and snake it back in. My scan tool identified the BCM part number so I could order it before tearing the dash apart. I ordered the Kia OEM exact part number as a replacement. Everything operated as expected with the exception (physical key) neither of the fobs would lock/unlock the doors. I used the scan tool key program function to program the keys and they then both worked as expected.
Was this due to the car not wanting to shift out of park into other gears? My neighbors sorrento wont shift out of park unless you take a screwdriver and press down to release it. We replaced the brake switch hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't. Satan (the stealership) said that it could be a electrical problem or the BCM. I think it's the shifter solenoid on the gearshift.
If it has the exact same specs as the one you're replacing you shouldn't need to reprogram it. Your key fobs will likely need reprogrammed though. The reprogram procedure is beyond my knowledge

Did you have to get the used module you got programmed?
You can take out from the glow box compartment.
Is it the same for the Sportage
Man! I wanted to see you replace!! Don't blame owner for not authorizing. A $1 screwdriver will do the same thing.
Thanks mate, good info
Good video
After replacing the BCM does it require reprogramming in order to work properly?
Most likely
@@CrowtownAuto How can I reprogramm it?

Any idea where the airbag srs modile is located?
For sure! It's either under the center console or up under the dash to the right of the gas pedal.
