I'm glad Tomita survived such a harrowing experience, I hope she is feeling better both physically and mentally. It reminds me of a dear friend of mine. She was in a relationship, with a guy we (thought we) knew for quite a while. However when he proposed, she declined as she wasn't ready to marry yet and wanted to focus more on her follow-up education. He didn't like this, and basically went psycho on her and stalked her for weeks, even having evidence and showing it to the police but they didn't care, and didn't act. One day, he waited behind her house, and assaulted her with a knife, ending her life. He got 14 years. 14 years for premeditated murder, and likely shortened if he 'behaves'. When I met up with her other friends, we went to pay our respect at her memorial besides her house. We're about ready to leave and stepped back in the car, and around the corner came her mother and her little sister, they stopped briefly at her memorial and then continued. It still saddens me till this day, as the pain I felt that day must've paled in comparison to what they went through, and I'll never forget that. Rest in peace, Saga.

The murder cases don‘t really have to do with anime. This are cases of stalking, attempted murder because of jelousy, murder because of arguments, people being lonely and isolated because of modern society, being bullied, pressured to be successful and more. Anime most likely are not the reason for the crimes. There are so many more crimes done similarly to these, but done by people who have no relation with anime. You even mentioned that in one case they found video tapes of not only anime, but also other horror movies. Better make a video of how horror movies of any kind can inspire people how to do crimes in a specific way. Maybe include how modern society causes isolation and loneliness which can leed to extreme behavior and crime. I don‘t like how the video puts anime in a bad light, even though anime are not really the reason for these crimes.

Don't accept gifts from fans. I know that might turn away customers, but if you accept someone's gift, you have to accept them as a friend. Have to. If you don't, they are in their right to be offended by you and have the right to confront you. Like I said, to avoid that, you should not accept their gifts. You should make that perfectly clear.
nah. It's smarter to not accept gifts to not give people false hopes or illusions of friendship, but youre also not required to be someones friend. A gift is something given with no expectation of something returned. You can accept a gift and not owe people anything. *They* decided to gift you something. But yeah, realistically dont accept gifts or you could open a whole can of worms in the process.

Because one person lost it and hurt people close to him. Doesnt mean others who like watching anime and reading manga for so long is a danger to society okay. Just so you know, tons of people who i introduced to anime and manga in the 90s are still doing those things today. So its actually quite a normal long term hobby

The case with the yandere girl and her man isn’t everything. Both were using each other for their own needs, with the man purposely leading her on for more money while she wanted love. I feel sorry for Tomita's case. How could a the police is so useless when you need them the most.
yeah it was reall tragic but at least she was 1 crucial point to actually improve this situation for other cases
I guess they only rely on laws, and if a law for some crime didn't exist, they won't do anything to it. Kind of sucker to me imo when it comes to that.
@@ArjunTheRageGuy yeah its really unfortunate
@@yapmasterDV it is very tragic but should have never happened in the first place nor been an example to learn off of as their was plenty of warnings and concern from the person themselves, it is soley the justice system at fault and the ones upholding it, yume is correct.
That's messed up pal❤

Disturbing indeed. But at the same time, I'd like more context of the actual situation tbh. not enough deep research if he labels hikimori's as "otakus" and otakus as "crazy for anime" which is false.
That last story escalated beyond anything I expected. It started out the most normal and just grew exponentially in its ridiculousness. Shocking and disturbing.

You should make that perfectly clear.
yeah the psychology behind reciprocation is also a big factor!
And edible gifts can be tampered with
Depends on the gift but something relatively inpersonal and costly you shouldnt accept
