    I learn so much about HVAC from you! I'll share something about the new piping leak-down test with you from my training. Go past 30 lbs to about 35 or 40, then bleed down to 30 at your Schrader valve (or add an actual bleeder valve to your rig). This is how the gas company verifies your test is valid and that your test rig gauge isn't just stuck.

    Can a home owner run his or her own gas line to the gas meter, prior to the gas company setting the meter? If so, what are the rules/code for Texas. I'm asking cause i keep getting ridiculous bids for a gas line run for a stove and a gas furnace. The gas line run is pretty simple and straight forward and in the shape of an L. It runs in the eave 31' 8" then across the kitchen 12'8" and then straight path across the leaving room to the utility closet20' where the furnace will be installed. Also, the drop downs add 8' for the drop from the eave down a brick wall to the meter and about 8' down to to the furnace inside the utility room. Total run is about 82feet. Any help advice appreciated.

    Is it code to have a metal shield covering the Tracpipe in the wall so johhny lunch bucket doesn't put a screw or nail in the wall and poke a hole in the pipe?

    Great video.
    Do you have to bond your trac pipe at the main panel?

    Another question: do you keep the schrader valve for the test in permanently or just for the test and then a plug in the fitting?

      Just for the test

    Question: do you close the individual appliance shutoff valves for the pressure test?

    • @TaddyDigest
      @TaddyDigest  Рік тому +1

      I usually install a cap on the line and leave shutoff open. never hookup applian until after test

    Another amateur showing dangerous practices
    Never use a bourdon gauge. Doesn't show movement to the naked eye which could be dangerous
    Use an calibrated electronic gauge
