KYPRIOS gets the job done in the Saval Beg, and all roads lead to the Ascot Gold Cup

- Kyprios triumphed as the 1-12 favourite in the Saval Beg Levmoss Stakes at Leopardstown.
Trained by Aidan O’Brien and ridden by Ryan Moore, Kyprios landed the Group Three contest before going on to claim the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in 2022, with his outings limited due to injury last term.
Kyprios’ stablemate Queenstown set the early pace although Sunchart was similarly eager to be in front and took over after a couple of furlongs, with Kyprios settled on the heels of the first two by Ryan Moore.
The rider appeared to be pushing along on the market leader with around three furlongs to run, with Kyprios slowly making up ground to be in front in the final furlong.
Queenstown tried to make a battle of it but Kyprios was always holding him, coming home a one-length winner, with Yashin staying on for third.
Coral left Kyprios unchanged as the 11-10 favourite for the Gold Cup, with O’Brien satisfied by his Ascot prep run.

@@Dwayndibb I read it was an infection he had that took ages to clear up so if that's true it wasn't an Injury and he should be OK. Vauban is going to go back to Willie's and he will improve. His first race since November they will be pleased with that. Ascot Gold Cup is booked for those 2

Gonna see Galileo's and danehill's offspring go at it in gold cup... Vauban has Galileo and danehill on his dam's side and Montjeu on his sire side in him... and Kyprios has Galileo on sire side and danehill on dam side. So we will see if the offspring from Galileo's dam side and sire side go at it, Blood vs Blood, Quality vs Class. Mullins vs O'Brien.

Kypros is a good horse and has had a nice prep I think confidence is high but last term and providing the horses progression is still coming forward Courage Mon Ami impressed me immensely even in defeat to Coltrane he could be really top draw to bring it on
11/8 for the Ascot Gold Cup seems a good bet
I'm just always worried watching him since he came back that he is not the same horse. But the 2m4f at Royal Ascot should show his strength better.

@@trevorwills3356 Not much the bookies do makes sense only make more money. I'm a massive fan of Aiden but his record in the Guineas is really bad lately. The bookies won't tell you that 😂
I mean COT is never a 1mile horse. I'm repeating that is Dubawi, Kingman, NightofThunder and Frankel sired. Unfortunately Aiden hasn't got the steady flow of those guys.

I'd say getting this fella back on the track is a feat in itself. Bit early to judge season yet. Aidan has had a slow start and jump on it. These horses are not machines and some take time patience and a bit more understanding and believe it or not they are not all gd.

@@niallsheehan474 If people really looked closer Coolmore record in all the Guineas isn't great. Part reason they don't own Kingman, Dubawi or Night of Thunder. 1mile races in general for Aiden isnt their strength. Wotton Bassett might have a few good ones this year.
But they have success with Siyouni obviously not their own too.
1mile Guineas horse seems not there presently.
