Distance runners get better with age and consistent training. This horse has definitely earned his oats.
Fabulous stayer and I hope he makes it 4 in a row this year. I also just want to give a shout-out to Nayef Road - he's had to play second/third fiddle (pun intended) in his races against Stradivarius but what a brave front-runner and a horse after my own heart.

Best horse ever, NO, not even close. Best stayer ever, he's right at the top of the list with the best for certain, and if he manages to tie Yeats record of winning the Ascot Gold Cup four times he may then become known as the greatest stayer ever because the rest of his career CV is better than Yeats's. To me the only stayer in recent years who's been anywhere close to Stradivarius as far rarely losing big staying races is Vazirabad in France, and Stradivarius beat him and Order of St George both head to head in the 2018 Ascot Gold Cup.

What nonsense, Winx lost both of her races at a mile and a half, she'd never stay two miles plus. Strad would play her like a fiddle.

@@davidkent8606 Winx one 25 group ones over all distances. Could also race from the back or the front unlike strad. Aus racing far more exciting over a variety of distances unlike your marathons
@@nicholasthomas2397Wrong. She failed in her 2 attempts at a mile and a half, and never raced over a distance futher than that. I like Winx she's a great horse, but she wouldn't beat The Strad over the extreme distances he runs at.
