I had 2 NDE's and there was no time. Just pure awareness and everything was simultaneous NOW. Awareness could be directed anywhere at will, past, future, other realms/dimensions all at once! Multiple lives were being experienced simultaneously as if Awareness projected a bit of itself into many various "lives" at once and it felt more real and natural than "here".

@@chrizles The NDE's happened when I "died" twice and literally had doctors trying to revive me and it wasn't working. They were doing chest compression, bagging me and giving me shots to try to get my heart started and they were kind of panicking because nothing was working. I left my body, watched everything that was happening then went to the light which was the light of BEING. That's when the experience of pure awareness, no time and other lives/dimensions happened.

Love this comment, I had a similar experience on a very high dose of psychedelics thirty years ago and your statement corresponds to what I saw there. I’ve reflected on and discussed many times this fact that everything is happening simultaneously and must admit I’ve never really come up with a decent explanation as to how that all works. But I’m convinced that what you are describing is true, I just have no rational explanation of how that can be!

Oh yes! Nothing stands out from God's consciousness, so that answers my own mental dilemma when it comes to Non-duality. They often say that trees, people etc, don't actually exists. "Exist" means to stand out or be apart from something else. God doesn't exist, God simple IS, .. so if God just IS and nothing stand apart from God, then Nothing exists either, everything just IS. Amazing! Thank you Rupert!

Nice mental-masturbation there. You have yet to realize God. In non-Dual consciousness it's easy to say God IS, since God is Consciousness-Being and that word comes easy to humans. But no, it's more accurate to say Exists. Since God actually and really Exists. EXISTS! GOD EXISTS. Simple.

If you were to ask this question to Shri Ramana Maharshi, he would say... enquire who is asking these questions? Once you find out the real "Self" these questions automatically disappear...
Finite mind always asks questions as it can't grasp the infinite! Since there's a concept of time and space for the finite mind, there's also a concept of evolution of things over a period of time and space.
In dreams, we do not question the existence of objects as during dreams everything seems real, the entity within the dream will also find the concepts of time and evolution of things as logical and reasonable.
This is the wonder of the human mind in that it can create things out of nothing....not absolutely"nothing" however. It creates things out of the ever existing Consciousness...

Quantum entanglement suggests there is no space, as two entangled particles can be light years apart and behave identically-with no apparent communication between them. Taking what Rupert said into consideration, there are no light years (i.e., distance) separating them, so the behavior is not at all surprising. The non dual path removes the "spookiness" that Einstein described.🙂

This is close to my question - in the consciousness-only model, what are processes (eg evolution, growth, entropy...)? For example if a plant will grow at a particular rate in certain conditions. If the apparently external things that apparently undergo processes don't really exist and consciousness does not itself undergo any kind of process then what if anything does? Presumably thought and perception? By studying how plants grow given certain conditions, are we not then learning about the world but learning about our own minds? How does this work?

I just read the title and I’d have to say that time is only existent due to the perception of decay and change through the lens of an already evolved being able to precise such changes. So millions of years of trees growing and rock formations poping up and low level life evolution isn’t really millions of years due to nothing being able to perceive time at all. Millions of years to the planet with zero life on it is just one continuous moment of growth I’d assume 🤷‍♂️

It is the subatomic nature of the "dinosaur bones" that might better make Rupert's case for the questioner. That apparent structure of bones is of the quantum filed, so called. According to the principle of non locality, so called, each mysterious particle of the quantum field, including those of the bones, shares the same non-space /non-time as every other particle. Subatomic particles masquerading as matter exist in non materiality. And so the particles are not necessarily particles, but waves, frequencies, what have you, or "mind stuff" within the underlying reality that is Infinite Consciousness, or Being, or Suchness. Whatever you want to call it. Through the lens of the senses though and the human brain we behold the appearance of solid structure within the concept of time and space.
My question to Rupert would be then: How is it that was all behold the same interpretations of matter. We all agree that they are dinosaur bones, when we see them? How is the trance collective?
I suppose it would be that it is not so much that we are all in agreement, but that those bones are the form consciousness takes, given its play in the quantum field. But ultimately, in Truth, they are essentially Brahman. Pure Consciousness.

I don't think he really answered the question of evolution sufficiently. He started to get there when he challenged the materialist view of reality, but then he kind of spun it into a talk about the evolution of consciousness and the experience of reality from a non-dual perspective. Fascinating, but not really pertinent to the question. I suppose a question like this is hard to answer without first having a discussion about the consciousness model vs material model of reality. Most people are gonna assume the materialist model when asking a science based question. You'd have to challenge their assumption that consciousness emerges from the physical world.

Time does not exist apart from interpretation. If apparent change (time) has been interpreted and quantified in different ways by pre-human minds, those models would be inseperable from those minds -- as our human models of change are inseperable from the human mind. The perception of time and time itself are one in the same. There is no time apart from the perception of apparent change. As Alan Watts was fond of saying, the inch has no existence apart from the ruler.

What about people who were born blind? They cannot dream in color, because they have never experienced color. Infact, we cannot imagine what we have never experienced. When we dream at night, even if the dream Is odd, the contents of the dream can only be filled with that of which you have already experienced. Say a chair for example. It's true, the chair does not exist so to speak. It's definition is only how we percieve it. So there needs to be something there to percieve. I believe we all share one consciousness, we are love itself. Our eyes work like windows to a 3 dimensional realm were not actually a part of. However, we can interact with the 3 dimensional world by means of piloting a 3 dimensional vessel. We "mainifest" our imagination into what we call "reality". But the reality we experience is more so a narrative written by perception.

Paradoxically, in an absence of time/space there would be no "evolution." The question of "evolution" would not arise. An experience of time/space is wholly dependent upon memory. No memory, no time. Unity Consciousness wherein there is no other, expresses and sustains all matter/Maya. In an absence of Consciousness, matter could not precipitate. All matter is simultaneously of and within the Singularity of Unity Consciousness, which is bound by neither time nor space. Duality is for the choosing -- either or, this or that -- Light over Darkness -- Truth over falsehood -- Goodness over evil. Life in Duality, is a pro-active, transient endeavor.

    • @Dantianblue
      @Dantianblue 2 роки тому +2

@@dameerdj5403 Yes one of my favourites is the dream analogy. We experience the phenomena of the dream, it exists, we have to live it out, yet the only thing the actually is real is the dreaming mind. The dreaming mind is not manifest in the dream, it is not a phenomenon in the dream like the other things, yet it is the only thing that is real. Moreover, it is what we actually are. So I suppose the analogy is that in so called waking life, our ultimate reality is that which is aware of the phenomenal world, including our internal phenomena. That which exists is not real and that which is real does not exist. So the second world war in which my grandfather died existed like a particularly elaborate kind of dreamed scenario but it was/is really an appearance conjured up by our limited phenomenal mind in response to the so called activity of consciousness.
As you say these analogies do break down. I wonder if Rupert's indulgence in these analogies and metaphysical discussions is just a concession to the finite mind, to try to pacify it by throwing it meat as it were. In the end maybe we have to just calm down and stop getting wound up by our thoughts and feelings. If vwe pursue the metaphysics, we just encounter the age old ontological issues around the concept of God, eg why does anything exist and why does consciousness dream all this up and if it has dreamed this up, why does it allow suffering - either it has no control, or it is deliberately causing suffering.
I suspect that all this only really starts to make sense if you have some kind of awakening experience.
Like with the dream, we can't escape this seeming exisrence inside this body. It seems we might be able to develop a realisation that we are not ultimately this body/mind, but we will still get toothache and arthritis and get stuck in traffic etc.

Yes, of course consciousness evolves! 💖🙏🏽 we are consciousness decended and extended into density by a vision of ourselves in this time, space, reality, dimension and timeline we have chosen to experience in this Now moment by powers emotional magnetism. We have attracted into coalescence through the intensity of our emotion. Through this manifesting power, as a singular perspective of all of reality (our ego). So as such, we are God (consciousness) evolving through the infinite experiences of sentience (and beyond) as each ego chooses, lives, loves or rejects love…dealing with the impacts of those choices and discovering anew. Yes, we have a mind, but ultimately it is the vehicle for consciousness through our ego for the purpose of evolution, self-healing, a coming back to love (self-love) and personal sovereignty through a rediscovered and aligned divine vision. 🤍🙏🏽🕊️

You might talk of obfuscation that occurs where something happens that makes it limited to one perspective. But how could that be because the awareness that sees that perspective is the same awareness that also sees all the others. Awareness could never be limited in its seeing by anything that could possible happen in awareness.
Plus the infinite fact cannot be named because that would give it a definite nature and so limit it’s possibility. It might not be giving it objective qualities to call it awareness but it’s giving it something.

The most important conclusion follows from his theory: consciousness preceded life.
“Conventional science and philosophy suggests that consciousness emerged at some point in evolution, perhaps as recently as the advent of the brain and nervous system. But Eastern spiritual traditions, panpsychism, and Roger Penrose’s theory of objective reduction suggest that consciousness preceded life,” writes Hameroff.
And these traditions turned out to be right (again, how did the ancients know? ). Hameroff describes in detail the early universe, filled with the light of the Big Bang - the universe was then a megamind. But then the substance became cloudy, and a period of unconsciousness set in. When it ended, complex molecules began to appear. With their help, the Universe began to “think” more clearly and precisely.
Thus, the entire universe is conscious because consciousness follows directly from quantum mechanics and relativity. Man is “more conscious” than stone only because the neurons of the brain are a more convenient environment for quantum transition than the crystalline structure of stone or wood fibers, but man is definitely not the only, and certainly not the first thinking being.
Just by thinking something, we turn on (not “we”, it turns itself on) a quantum transition that connects us to any point in the Universe and to any complex mind that exists anywhere.
We are the Universe, and the Universe is us.
Imagination - Process of Pure Creation
The process of creation starts with thought
    - an idea, conception, visualization. Everything you see was once someone's idea. Nothing exists in your world that did not first exist as pure thought.
This is true of the universe as well.
Thought is the first level of creation.
Next comes the word. Everything you say is a thought expressed. It is creative and sends forth creative energy into the universe. Words are more dynamic (thus, some might say more creative) than thought, because words are a different level of vibration from thought. They disrupt (change, alter, affect) the universe with greater impact.
Words are the second level of creation.
    Next comes action.
Actions are words moving. Words are thoughts expressed. Thoughts are ideas formed. Ideas are energies come together. Energies are forces released. Forces are elements existent. Elements are particles of God, portions of ALL, the stuff of everything.
The beginning is God. The end is action. Action is God creating - or God experienced.
“The idea of the atom being formed of electrons and protons which go whirling round each other like a miniature sun and planets is an invention of the imagination, and has no relation to the real nature of matter.
“Virtually all progress has been achieved by physicists, discoverers and inventors; in short, devotees of the science which Newton and his disciples have been and are propounding.
“Personally, it is only efforts in this direction which have claimed my energies. Similar remarks might be made with respect to other modern developments of thought. Take, for example, the electron theory. Perhaps no other has given rise to so many erroneous ideas and chimerical hopes. Everybody speaks of electrons as something entirely definite and real. Still, the fact is that nobody has isolated it and nobody has measured its charge. Nor does anybody know what it really is.
“In order to explain the observed phenomena, atomic structures have been imagined, none of which can possibly exist."
    -Nikola Tesla
“Great Scientific Discovery Impends.“ The Sunday Star, Washington D.C., May 17, 1931.
    CREATION AND SACRED GEOMETRY
How is it that we are Conscious Spiritual Beings living in a physical world, in a physical body and don't remember Who We Are or how we got here?
It has to do with the whole process of Creation and Sacred Geometry.
Spirit is the essence of consciousness, the energy of the Universe that creates all things.
Each one of us is a part of that Spirit Energy - a Divine Entity. So the Spirit is the Higher Self, the Eternal Being that lives within us.
Form is the physical world: body, mind, personality. We as spiritual beings created the physical world as a place to learn. We're here to learn how to master the process of creation - to learn how to consciously channel the creative energy of spirit into physical form.
    A Source Deep Within
As we explore the process of creating our own reality, we begin to realize that the creative power we are feeling is coming from some source other than our personality/ego selves. It seems to come from some place deep within ourselves. We become interested in discovering what this creative force is and how it works. We realize that "it" (our higher self) knows more than "I" (our personality self). We find out what the inner guidance is telling us and follow it.
    Enlightenment
When we begin to open up to a spiritual path, we may go through many different exoeriences and processes in our search, but eventually we come back to an experience of our true selves, the god-like nature or universal mind that is within us all. Through this experience we are eventually restored to our full spiritual power. The emptiness inside us, the fear of loss, is filled up from within and spiritual healing has restored us to our true self. This is the process known as enlightenment.
To the best of our knowledge, we may assume that our universe existed way before we (as humans) appeared. Quantum physics suggests that for a particle to stabilize and acquire a fixed position within the space-time reality of our world, it needs to be observed. Arguably, the only power that can make observations is consciousness. Since not we humans, what observed the world that we found?
An attractive answer would be that we consciousness observed it before we became humans. A slight sparkle of consciousness may have caused the Big Bang and subsequent orchestration of this universe. Some sort of consciousness may have imagined that a such-and-such world can be derived out of possibility waves and set to create it.
Though our imagination is seemingly unrestrictedly opulent, we still have hard time to imagine how galaxies or birds came to exist without something having priorly imagined them. We can clearly understand how any of our creations was created but we feel utterly powerless to comprehend how anything that preceded us was created. That may be so because we mistakenly search for a different creator. What if we created everything? Remember, not we as humans but we as imaginative consciousness.
Consciousness, imagination, creativity must have pervaded the universe all along. It only lacked technical solutions. Whereas by setting a simple set of parameters such as nuclear, electromagnetic, and gravitational forces it is a straightforward process to create simple things such as atoms, stars, and all sorts of condensed, orbiting balls… it required vast amounts of time and experimentation filtered by natural selection to create things that can create things, such as ribosomes, hands, and automated factories.
The entire history of the universe seems like an arduous strife to organize itself geometrically; a valiant endeavor to order chaos directed by imaginative consciousness. And this process is only at the beginning. What is the universe set to make out of itself? A universal brain? A God? Does it know? Is the outcome of this universal evolution deterministically predefined? Or does it also create the process? Will it eventually dissolve and perish before entropy within its own boundaries? Or will it escape space-time to outer dimensions and keep evolving indefinitely?
What exactly consciousness is and why it does what it does is another question. For now we may only speculate that consciousness is imagination acting as a link between our observable universe and the underlying quantum field: imagination extracting reality out of possibilities.

Hey. I’m a bit stuck understanding who I really am. With the following thought experiment I can cancel out already a bunch of things I am not:
Let’s say we would copy someone’s atoms exactly to teleport him/her. Would that copied version be you? Intuitively and maybe logically, the answer is no.
So we can conclude that our DNA (which was exactly copied) does not define us. Neither do our memories.
‘I am not him, because I am not watching through his eyes!’
Also, If we would ask that person if he was still the same one, he would say yes, because that’s what all his/her memories tell her. Also, the person would act exactly like the ‘original’ would. There would be no way to prove or to be sure it is the same observer.
So that made me think, what if this is actually always the case? We just think I am that, because our memories are telling that we are that.
But than, who is observing? Or is every fraction someone ‘else’ observing? And why does it feel smooth and are all those ‘different’ observers each fraction of a second, or maybe always the same observer, always observing through the same body system? It really feels like there is a constant, why through this eyes?
Oh god, I don’t even know what to think anymore haha, I’m really thinking weird stuff. Than I thought, maybe if we could cut out the concept of time, it would make more sense?
Could you help me a bit please? And btw, sorry, I’m a bit stoned so forgive me if I wrote weird things.

I am yet to understand the idea that time does not exist. Rupert suggests that it cannot exist if it cannot be experienced. I agree that I cannot experience the past but I did and I have a memory of it, my body has changed. Time exists in every moment you experience and is then consigned to a memory, no? Just because you cannot experience it now does not mean that it did not happen and therefore had existence. You can only experience now but if there was no time my heart would not beat.
