- The War Within just released its pre-patch of a pre-patch to World of Warcraft, bringing with it a new questline that introduces us to the upcoming story we're about to dive into. Sent off to Dalaran to meet Khadgar and Alleria, Nixxiom in this video takes us through the events of the patch, step by step, while also sharing some of his thoughts and plans for the future World of Warcraft expansion. Mistake on my part! Apologies. This isn't the pre-patch for War Within, but more of a pre-patch of a pre-patch. The more major patch with all the new features comes down the road. This is more focused on the lore and establishing characters.
Regardless, enjoy my little adventure into the patch.
Pvp ain't use be in retail nixxiom trust me. It’s a part of the pre-patch.
It is not ,this patch is a prelude to war within , also the pandaria remix is the major part of this patch which releases next week. The pre patch will be released when remix ends in July or August

not shocked Nixxiom forgot Locus walker from legion and not shocked either he forgot about where you learn about the etherials in Netherstorm and the void entity that took their planet. This is a big callback to Burning Crusade of all things that i never thought would get mentioned ever again.
Was very pleasantly surprised to see this lore come back up ingame. The real question is: are they going to successfully weave this into a coherent long-term narrative, or drop it like a sack of potatoes next patch?
This isnt the pre-patch. There are no WWI features nor the pre-expansion event. Its simply the time after the last raid and before the actual pre-patch which is still months away.

Unfortunately WWI is off the table, but WWIII is just around the corner, so sit tight!

Honestly i thought this was an awesome small patch. Neat rewards, a copl short story, and a sneak peak at xal working behind the scenes vefore the big pre patch where she attacks. I hope this is something they do this for future expansions too
Comments about to explode as everyone says this isn't the pre-patch; this is the epilogue to DF, just a story breadcrumb for tWW; tWW pre-patch is mid summer.
Who the hell was expecting more than just a quest line? Thats all they said we were getting.. lol
All these people bitching forgot that before Legion we never even got an epilogue patch at all. Nevermind name dropping Dimensius which is a huge callback to TBC which is hype for me.
6:33 Hey Nix, lil refresher jic - the "Harbinger", Xal'atath, was the Shadow Priest artifact weapon in Legion. Or rather, the Void entity inside the dagger. We can officially blame the Shadow Priests (or thank them if Blizz nails it) for whatever's coming in TWW lol

Last night i had my yt sub videos playing and fell asleep. It got to this video and the audio came thru in my dream. So my dream turned into Nixxiom showing up at my house and explaining the dragonflight patch stuff to me. 😂😂
I don't know why I found nixiom saying "magical space mummy" so hilarious, but I did.
If you really want stuff to do in Dragonflight I highly recommend doing the Taivan grind. You'll realize how much stuff there is to do Outside of Raids / M + or PVP
I just want to know who the genius was that designed the quests... 30-40 ppl waiting for one spawn for Alleria, a less than 50% drop rate on mobs for the Draenai heritage quest... I play classic for that 😂😂😂
Hey Nixxiom! I really highly suggest doing the new Heritage questlines for Draenei and Troll! I've only done the Draenei but I was honestly kind of blown away, it was VERY very good and addressed almost everything draenei that I could think of being established since they came in. If you like the incorporation of the old world, plus just knowing you love the draenei vibe, you would get a lot out of that questline! I thought it was amazing and very lovingly done :).
Excited to do the troll one next.

Don't forget to do the weekly quest in Valdrakken for some upgrades. And the world bosses can drop high level stuff too. This week the one in the Emerald Dream.

MoP remix is going to make season 4 amazing. It’s like a free level 70 character for how fast the leveling will be. I think imma do frost mage as well!
I'm always reminded I live in an upside world because Horde dominate anytime I try to do RBGs, haha.
Locus Walker is an ethereal, the dudes we met in Outland.
Also if you want to get some decent gear you can actually build yourself up through regular Heroic dungeons and Mythic 0.
I was pretty much expecting what we got.
I enjoyed the reveal that the Radiant Song wasn’t some stupid phenomenon unique to Azeroth, but an apocalypse warning that has plausibly happened many times across the cosmos.
I'm sad you missed the minor NPCs like the void elf paladin called "Wielder of the Eclipse".
So cool. I’ve been waiting patiently for an Antipaladin, and the DK has filled that well enough, but in this specific cosmology they’re not antipaladins because Death isn’t the opposite of Light, Void is, so they’re more battle-necromancers. Wielder of the Eclipse, now that sounds like void paladin I’ve been waiting for since that tree elf became a pally in Legion.
The quest was so short but I didn’t expect much from blizz.
Still enjoying raiding and some mythic plus casually.

I got to the end of the Harbinger line and said "OMG IT WAS XALATATH", you know, because she's been plastered everywhere for MONTHS and people for mad at me for spoiling, lmao.
Well, in all fairness. WE knew it... but our characters don´t have the slightest clue. Nor does anyone who doesn´t visit Wowhead or other fansites and avoids spoilers.
But what I have to say is a positive change, We´ve been telling them to tell at least the major story beats in the fracking game for years now..... And for the first time since we left the Classic-era, maybe incl Cata, if you´re just casually playing WoW and doing the MSQ and megadungeon and patch qs as they roll out, you actually have a modicum of understanding of what is going on and who our next problem child is going to be.
It still needs improvement, but IMO it´s much better than in the MoP-Shadowlands Era where you either bought the books, or you had no idea wtf we´re doing in this new place and who the hell this new wannabe ender of worlds is, esp if you didn´t actively occupy yourself with the lore at least to some degree as a newer player. Imagine for Example someone who started playing in WoD or legion with no prior knowledge outside the ingame presentation..... Gulwhot? IlliDemon Batman and Sargerwho? Titans= big cosmic guys that fight demons, ok, check, got that... but then first N'Zoth and then Zo'WHAT? And wait, what, the titans are actually dickheads that semi- enslaved the dragons?
But this time we at least saved the world and stole the axe from the evil dragon we only ever learned about in chapter 1 that was kind of the main foreground baddie of the expansien whie his brother was off doing really evil shady stuff and his sister somehow forgot why she was mad, right?🤣
And now they finally at least understand who the hell Xal'atath is and why shes a problem going forward even if they didn´t play a shadow (because Crucible in BfA), and that she was always kind of shady at best..... And the overarching narrative of "What exactly is iridikron doing, does somebody know? SHould we be scared?" in the background, and don´t have to pay 20 bucks to understand either one 🍻
Just glad got some lore finally for the mummy void people! I missed the back story in vanilla and the few quests left in Shattrath didn't give much lore.
For someone who’s experienced PvP and pve this expansion and patch, raids and M+ are definitely more popular and in my opinion, more fun, until that changes, no point stepping into PvP unless you want the 1800 cosmetic elite appearance

I know everyone said this but.... THIS IS NOT THE PRE PATCH lol.... it's just a patch that's it. There is 1 more final patch 11.0 which will put us into warwithin aka the pre patch to the launch of the expansion. In that one we will have more catch up and world events and all new features and re works.
But it still fucking sucks

edit: bg's have always been my focus in this game rerolled to alliance for TWW because I'm tired of the super long horde queues and horde getting their butts kicked...you'd think for how long the queues are they would try but nope just keep giving alliance with the short queues faster wins for faster gear. but i'll have 2 of each for both sids for Warbands, Outlaw Rogues, Prot/Ret Paladins, and 2 Frost/Blood Deathknights.
It was lacking in interesting content, and I beat it so quickly, but two things to take away is the gorgeous cutscenes, a big step up from Shadowlands and maybe even Dragonflight, as well as the ending revealing some possible reasoning for the Dark Heart trinket thing being used by Zalatath.
I would that blizzard actually fixes the leveling instead of providing boost from the shop but there's no real incentive to fix it when they are making money out of the boosts. Well the incentive is to keep the leveling boring, tedious and broken
Yess pvp is where its at!
You quest for almost 3 hours to get a personal tabard.
Then when you finish the quest and go to customize your tabard, its the customization system from 2005 where you have to click left or right over 300 times to find something you like.
I did the quest. Got my tabard. Found out how convoluted the tabard creating system was. And discontinued payment already.
WOW is still such a joke.
i re-subbed after a couple months break…just really wish these types of quest lines weren’t so damn easy…the story setup was cool but it was over way too quick.

Nixxiom, this is not the war within prepatch. The prepatch will come with the new login screen and warbands etc, this is a minor content patch just like you even mentioned #outraged ;)

It was so underwhelming it would of been better is the quest was never added at all. They should of just waited for the pre patch.

DO THE WEEKLY QUEST! Get the quest for whatever the weekly is (example: this week is superbloom/dreamsurge), get those quests for those activities. Make sure to get the A Worthy Ally quest for rep/gear. DO THE AWAKENED WORLD BOSS! Between that and flightstones/crests, you can get that ilvl up quickly! Been doing that on my alts.
Not going to touch on the complete dumpster fire that LFG is for arena/rbg players right now? Cant remember a time when LFG has been bugged for the better part of a week since its launch...

Yeah, pvp has been dead for me since pandaria ended and lately by what i can see from venruki's thumbnails pvp is mostly dead in retail. PvE has been booming tho, but unfortunately still a lot of elitists meta slaves so you gotta make your own group and make friends so you can have fun and maybe teach em a thing or two about the dungeons and raids. Wow becoming each day like an e-sport, disappointing to appeal just to the 1% of players who do more than just KSM and KSH portals...

A few years back, when Nixxiom started to play ESO, I was happy that he got away from WoW, and its really sad to tune in years later and see that the sunken cost falacy, and most likely the fact that this game is his main income, forced him back to this crappy Shadow of an MMO...
I hope he can get away one day...

frost mage pvp isnt frost mage pvp anymore lol. theres no kiting and perfect positioning. its just face tanking and cooldown trading. the pvp is TRASH since legion and beyond.
