@@ipseite without the music the edits and right shots it makes it really awkward to see dialogue and frames out of context with a bunch of people around the actors watching them try to be serious.
Great movie . I saw this at the Toronto Film Festival w the stars in the next row and it is always amazing to watch the movie w them and you tend to like it more cos you are rooting for them. But regardless the movie was awesome. And Jake's partner in the movie is very good and acts completely realistic and natural, and is a really good choice for this style of filming
I had no idea that the guy wearing the beanie cap at the beginning is a real police officer. He who played the Capt. who walked into briefing congratulating Taylor and Zavala after their first shooting.
@@alejandritaag.8028 I know im kinda late but the chase was real except the end but what whats crazy is that the director bought the exact same car in the chase for the ending scene. Supposedly the footage was a year before the filming
This movie I think actually was the one that made me recognize and like to see Michael Peña and Jake Gyllenhaal. It’s honestly my number one most favorite buddy cop movie by far, because it’s honestly way more realistic than any of the other ones out there. It really makes you feel for the cops and it’s honestly what makes me respect real cops. They don’t deserve they shit that gets thrown at them for doing their job.
Jaime FitzSimons first guy talking, also played Captain Reese , is actually involved with law enforcement. That must’ve been so cool to have his experience and knowledge to make this film even more realistic
2:35 there is a scene like that in "the stranger" by albert camus- the officer slaps the cigarette out of the smoking guy's hand avec les mots "sortez la seche quand je parle avec vous" i get stomach pain thinking about the knife- in- the- eye scene
stefan kureljusic Yes and no.End of Watch brings, I believe, something that is entirely new to big-scale productions in that it introduces a ton of new angles and makes you as physically close to Taylor and Zavala as you can get while making the film still watchable. They probably had an idea of all the angles they wanted going in, but the problem with having to re-shoot is that unless the character is doing something that requires little to no emotion or physical activity, it's almost impossible to replicate. So, instead, they probably would have filmed in short segments and gotten the angles wanted for that part of the scene instead of re-shooting. The reason they shot that scene for what seems like a disproportionate amount of time with a plethora of new angles and shots is because End of Watch is essentially a real-life situation put onto film. There can be no errors, no mistakes in how a real reaction would happen. If Jake and Michael weren't coughing enough from smoke inhalation or the mother wasn't upset enough, it alerts the viewers, who've been wrapped up in becoming part of the story, every actor's and filmmaker's goal, to the fact that it's just that: a story. I'm guessing all the major scenes, including but not exclusive to Zavala's death and funeral, finding the dead bodies, finding the human trafficking, being in the woman's apartment, and even some of the less ad-libbed and light car scenes, were done this way to achieve maximum reality.
The entire behind- the -scenes crew is massively under appreciated
I could watch this shit for hours.. Behind the scenes of (good) movies is so fascinating to me.
They should another movie like this !!
I fucking loved the camera angles of the city, this director has his own unique flow.
Acting is actually cringey when you see it for what it really is. :)
What are you talking about?
ipseite yeah thats what I always think 😂😂🙈
Film editors are under appreciated 🤣

So wild how this movie was filmed. It’s like a cheap low budget backyard film that’s fucking amazing
I want to see how they did the intro chase scene, and also see is the cat alright.
Those parts are actual real vids of dash board cameras
@@angell-sj3ns no they weren't lol

My brain keeps linking the noises around 0:46 to David Ayer's chewing and it is making me laugh

I laughed when the camera tech told Michael Pena “okay Miguel, good to go”

This movie is sad
This is a really good movie

That girl up there dancing is my dream girl yo
Actors do soooo many scenes and they don’t even make it into the movie.

Noise complaint. Did you guys hear anything. That ruca on the roof must be high because she was dancing to notha!
8:10 Did they shoot this part too times so they could use different angles in the same shot? Im studying film thats why i wonder :)

You suck if you don't know why they'd shoot twice
@@alejandritaag.8028 His comment is old, and he likely knows more about film than you.
Where is part 2!!!🥳🥳🥳
That was part of a scene in the actual movie
How did they make the house look like it was on fire?
Light and smoke
Orange lights and fog machines
Yellow light s and fog
Watch your 6.
So weird ! i can' t imagine this movie behind the scene like that ! i like the movie !!
So all these "Hectors" were in the movie.
I want to be an actor
I want to be a cop when I grow up
Still wanna be a cop?
Danny Marin did you do it
MrGlue lmfao probably forgot his UA-cam acc
Did you do it
Idk if it’s a good idea to be a pig
Some part are real
Censorship ruins everything, why censor a movie that has like the 5th highest number of fucks of any film ever made
what does big evil say?
My evil is big

10:45
what happened at 9:21 when jake and anna are kissing w jake's reaction to the camera being there...
It's a joke
They were actually dating at the time not anymore tho.
What's the point of putting the rigs on Micheal and Jake at the house fire scene? Wouldn't POV stuff like that usually just be shot by camara people?
Catch the others walking behind him and other props
I'd like to see Ayer apply this shooting style to SUICIDE SQUAD.
Eli DEVITT lol
No, you don't.
The cholos were great in this movie.
9:31 wtf is wrong with that weat guy?
Crowded and noisy standing around
has that guy at 9:32 wet himself?
