  • 🎻 Violin Playing Tips! 🎻
    1. Divide and Simplify: Tackling a challenging string crossing? Ease into it by simplifying. Focus on the string crossing first, isolating the left hand from complications. Open strings can be your best practice buddies!
    2. Know your bow. Familiarize yourself with your bow's different parts:
Frog: Use more fingers for control.
Middle: Engage the wrist and forearm.
Tip: Less wrist, more upper arm action.
Shape: Your hand is making different shapes as it changes with each bow section-master the hook and curve. Size is different too, varying from up bow to down bow. Clockwise and counter-clockwise rotations. Practice Krautzer etude nr 14!
Elbow Leveling: Keep your elbow level with the string you're on, slightly lower, and prep in advance. Maintaining this alignment adds fluidity to your playing.
Arm's Ball and Socket: Picture your arm as a ball and socket. Embrace the freedom in movement, creating a chain effect throughout your arm. Relax the ball socket joint for smoother string crossings-think big movements, not micro ones.
