The most fun way to get rid off of Lucius permanently (probably not killing) would be luring him into a Tyranid swarm. The Hivemind will shield the Tyranids from getting taken over by Slaanesh, but even if he would be forcibly reformed out of the Tyranid that snacked him, he would be instantly getting attacked by the Fleet and get reabsorbed... just to be reborn and get reabsorbed over and over again.

Oh yes the Tyranids are absolutely immune to this. They think of us as lesser in every sense of the word. For them it’s like taking pride in eating a pizza, ridiculous. A hive tyrant would kill Luscious and then flex its bone swords and move on cuz the hive mind doesn’t give a fuk. I’d imagine hive fleet battles are the only fights the separate pockets of consciousness within the Tyranids take seriously
Just tell Trazyn, he will gladly put Lucius on prominent pedestal in his display.
I believe Lucius is becoming more unstable and scared over time is because he's not only absorbing the souls of those that kills him, he's also absorbing their memories, minds, skills, and powers into himself. However, these do not merge with him correctly, and his mind and body are slowly breaking apart, and the only thing keeping him together is the power of Slaanesh. Meaning that every time he dies, he comes back stronger and wiser from absorbing the persons soul, but he becomes more deranged, crazy, and unstable every time. A fitting fate for such a depraved creature.

@@djashovel Huh, well the trick to killing him is to feel no pride, satisfaction or emotions and thoughts linked to Slaanesh in relation to killing him. With these 3, its possible.

The landmine guy's spirit taunts him for thousands of years, proud (word choice intentional) that a nobody factory worker managed to kill a Chaos Champion.
In the hammer and bolter, his death was a feint so he could infiltrate the exorcist base. I think it was a good start for GW to not make him such a joke.

The necron one is just bad writting. The necrons have no soul, no connection to the warp and no organic body- under that logic, Lucius could respawn from the very weapon that kills him each time and just cut the "pride" bulls*it.
Consider this as pure slaanesh shittery.
BTW, Lucius dont have Necron face on his armor. So is possible he just taken over Necron body, but there was no soul to absorb. And Necron probably was also resurected in his tomb.

One of the authors hand waves that 'oh Slaanesh has thought about it and is more clever then people realize' and says that Lucius would come back from necrons and tyranids with no problem. I really do not like Lucius, he is an obnoxious plot weapon at this point.

Imagine this scenario: Some clumsy guardsman slips and drops their melta gun which goes off and melts Lucius head off completely by accident but because this happens in a chaotic melee the guy doesn't even see what happened, and he somehow survived through a phenomenon known as "Caiaphas Luck" without ever realizing what happened.
We are left with headless Lucius and Slaanesh wondering if he/she should do bullshit hacks and bring Lucius back anyway.
The manufacturer of the melta might have taken pride in making it like the landmine story

The way I see it, Lucius might be the heretic version of Dante. Someone who actually wants to die but can't. And Slaanesh is being a total c and is preventing him from dying as a way to enjoy his pain. Because at the end of the day, Slaanesh doesn't care about her servants, just what they bring forth.

Honestly, if it wasn't for GW doing everything with the intention of selling more models, I'd call Lucius' situation a longterm prank by Slaanesh. He's had thousands of years to improve and refine his swordsmanship, but doesn't seem to have learned a thing. I wouldn't be surprised if when Nakoni gets unthawed, (and hasn't swung a blade in millennia) he immediately claps Lucius' cheeks. End result being Lucius' soul having a very dumbstruck look, while Slaanesh lols and eats it.
one forgotten death is from the short story (which was supposed to be a prequel to Lucius invading Fenris) is him being killed by a space wolves champion,
story is called "in wolves clothing" it was the inspiration for the hammer and bolter episode (same plot, Lucius let's a champion kill him with the intent of gaining access to the ship of a chapter, he proceeds to kill everyone and then using learned chaos sorcery, brings his entire warband onto the ship)
sadly the story was not expanded on as he is victorious in the end but it lead to the famous landmine story and Lucius the faultless blade

Always love the videos majorkill, before you I only heard of warhammer 40k but it was because of you that I really started getting into the lore and community thank you for that brother
I really started looking into it when the first rumors of the Caville, Amazon, and GW talks. Mainly because I like Caville and do want to support his projects since his work semi-dried up after the Witcher.

In TTS series by Bruva Alfabusa, Lucius sounded like Evil Mickey Mouse.
the TTS series is how i got into Warhammer 40k lore, and that's pretty much my canon voice for Lucius for some reason.
In the Hammer and Bolter episode Lucius's goal was to get inside the Excorsist's Fortress. They were holding an EC marine in isolation who once slighted Lucius and he sought satisfaction. Possessing someone on the inside was the most expedient way inside.
He didn't want to test himself this time, he used his curse to his advantage to satisfy his own spite.

One thing that doesn’t really get brought up much is how Lucius’ immortality is also a curse for himself. By reincarnating through whoever beats him Lucius is denied the chance to ever fight them again, thus he can never improve or surpass them. For a man driven solely by his petty ego and narcissism it has to wound him on some level to have the screaming voices of everyone who he knows is better than him trapped in his head and to have an exact counter of how many times the “best swordsman in the galaxy” has been bested follow him wherever he goes for everyone to see.

Realizing Majorkill did a "who could kill Lucius without being consumed" video already I was thinking on this recently.
I think Tyberos could kill Lucius and be fine simply because Tyberos would view Lucius as so pathetic as to not warrant any pride in victory but rather at most complete disgust or contempt.

OK, there's a few ways the tyranid lucias kill would go. Because he gets res'd with the biology of whoever he respawns through. We could end up with chaos tyranid lucias. Which would be brutal and dope as hell. Maybe a slannesh corrupted hive fleet turning people into space cocaine before consuming them. Part 2 of this, would be lucias respawns on a bio ship, gets eaten, and slannesh lols and then says"again". And slannesh is just laughing it's ass off as lucias is eternally locked in a state of death and rebirth until another hive fleet recognizes the infection, goes to kill the whole bio ship. And lucias respawns in space through the bio ship and finally fucking dies.
During the Hammer and Bolter episode, I perceived that Lucius' intention was always to lose the duel, to gain access to the Monastery the way he did. Just how I saw it though. Another great video.

Lucius being OP beyond anything in the setup. He would need to get killed by accident and whoever caused it wouldn't be able to know anything about Lucius death so they wouldn't feel any pride in it.
The manufacturing worker who built the mine he stepped on had no idea about his death, but because he took pride in his own work the curse took affect. It's really poor lore at this point
Alternative route: lad makes landmine. Lucius steps on landmine and dies. Lad who made landmine was killed beforehand in a factory accident. Lad who laid the landmine also got killed by an enemy sniper (or just lucius himself). Lucius has no living host for his curse to take effect on, thus he is perma dead.

Lucius would probably come back to life like the very first time he died. The whole metamorphisis soul absorbing stuff, is a way to gain experience and skill through the ones that killed him, but it's also a curse, as he can't rest and is constantly hearing the voices of his victims taunting him.

DAY 118: A video about, what if there were no loyalist elements in the traitor legions, this would also count for omegon and magnus. So there would be no need for the culling at isthvaan and weakening of the traitor forces. Giving the traitors a boost in numbers and cohesion, plus a lot of important named characters. it would be very intresting to see what all the effects would be on the possible succes of the heresy.
I'll save u any further waste of time and effort: the Imperium would be f*cked. End of story.

2:19 as much as it suits sharokyn to have mark 6, he never actually wore the armour since he was a shattered legion marine on the Sisypheum and his group never joined up with any main line legion command which would have been able to suply him with mark 6
Knowing how MK5 armor is essentially kitbash. It's safe to say he could've gotten bits and pieces of MK 6 during the Siege of Terra.
I mean Alpha Legion has a lot of them. And he's slain tons of them.

Its been stated that one of the few people that Lucius fears is Fabius, because he's apparently found a way to permanently end him, but its unfortunately never been elaborated further on

Half of Lucius get's vaporized by Jurgen's trusty melta and considering how much of a CHAD Jurgen is Lucius would not be able to resurect trough him.
Each of his losses has a context though. Cyrius was apparently wearing a power armor while Lucius didn't. We are told that he likes to play with inferior opponents a bit too much, which bakfires hard(Loken, Tarvitz). Otherwise, he's repeatedly implied to be among the best of all the legions. Loken had a much easier time with Kharn than with Lucius, for example. His only "true" loss in a 1v1 was against Nykona far as im aware

The point isnt that lucious is the best - the point is he has convinces slanesh that he is the most entertaining. He is slaneshs court jester, he is forced to fight in over the top rediculess manners to provide entertainment else he would die.
I would love a short story about lucious just after death being toyed by slanesh who is demanding he be more entertaining.

i wonder if a Sister of Silence could get away with killing Lucius and not being taken by the curse. or at least maybe delay the transformation into him for a while, cos an alternative to killing Lucius is to use the curse to lock him up in a prison, perhaps the Dark Cells. im not sure how well known the curse is to those in the 40k universe but im sure if the Custodes were ever so inclined and knew about the curse they could remove him from the playing field.

I won't be surprise if GW later says that Lucius let himself being killed all the times before because how much he like the feeling. He would have been able to win if he really wants and all that BS to give him a power spike.

I would be thrilled if you made space dwarf models. This sharrow model is super sick, like all the minis I see on your website.
A part of me thinks that the curse doesn't take effect for killing him and having pride in it. But in fact, when you have pride in anything after his death is what it takes to bring him back. But people keep falling for the "kill with pride" part is what people think is the rule for his resurrection.
But then again, I'm pretty sure they made it pretty clear that's not that the case.
The Star Wars people have the answer to Lucius... you freeze him in carbonite.
It’s worth mentioning that in the Hammer and Bolter episode, Lucius practically let himself be killed so that he could infiltrate the fortress through the Castilians body. Food for thought. Maybe some of his deaths were intentional as well.

I think the only way Lucius could ever be killed is by someone who sees it as no more than putting down a rabid dog, Guilliman being a perfect example, or perhaps a custode, they can be pretty prideful though.
There is a pretty strong rumor that Lucious got his ass handed to him by a cherub. it is said the the cherub mopped the floor with his ass using nothing but its chubby little baby hands to do so, it was so bad of an ass whooping that Slaanesh feared the cherub would come after it/they/them/him/she/her/he next so it/they/them/him/she/her/he waited a year to bring Lucious back and hid in a coner somwhere undetectable in the warp to perform the ressurection.

I would imagine that if someone were to rig a place to eject lucius into space, and after ejecting him, unaliving themselves, Lucius would have a final death

Most of the time he didn't just lose but mucked around like fighting someone in full armour with a power spear in a tunic and then he sword broke which was his first death apart from against the Raven guard who legit beaten him

It's reasonable to extrapolate that even Lucius respawn mechanic has limits even with how poorly written it is. He almost assuredly can't respawn out of any cosmic entities, and anything that actually destroys his soul on a divine level (like what the Emperor can do) would probably kill him for good.

I don’t think the emphasis should be on killing Lucius, instead of containing him. It seems much more difficult to attempt to work around Slaanesh’s arbitrary rules. If you were to subdue Lucius and throw him in the deepest darkest hole in the imperium (ie the Rock or Vaults of Terra) you could see more success. Depriving Slaanesh of its favorite plaything and chaos of a powerful warrior without risking the lives of great imperial champions in the process.
