Probably one of the most significant safety features is the landing gear themselves. A trailing arm design, as on the F/A-18 Hornet, the Shark’s main landing gear significantly prevents bouncing on touchdown over a wider envelope making it extremely forgiving, for novice and experienced pilots alike.
