- Here's the fourth elevator chime compilation on this channel, which features various chimes and beeps from the largest elevator manufacturer in the world, that is, Otis Elevator Company. Enjoy!
Chimes featured in this video:
* Bell chime: Commonly heard in old OTIS elevators prior to the 1990's.
* Series 1 chimes: One of the most well known OTIS chimes originated from North America, and as its name suggests, they are used in elevators with Series 1 fixtures. Comes in normal, high and lowered pitch.
* Classic Japanese chimes/bells: Door bell-like mechanical bell chimes commonly heard in Japanese-made OTIS elevators in the 1990's. A few elevators were also using a single-tone electronic chime.
* Series 3/Luxury chimes: Another distinctive OTIS chimes, commonly heard in Elevonic 411 and 411 M elevators with Series 3 fixtures.
* OTIS 2000 chimes: Heard in OTIS 2000 (E/H/VF) and European Gen2 elevators.
* Mitsubishi-like chimes: Sounds exactly like Mitsubishi. Commonly heard in Japanese-made OTIS elevators in the mid to late 1990's and some Chinese made OTIS Gen2 and 3200 elevators in the 2000s.
* Japanese chime: Single-tone chime that is commonly heard in Japan. Some elevators also plays a Mitsubishi chime along with this chime.
* Xizi Otis chimes: Commonly heard in Chinese made OTIS elevators, especially those that carries the Xizi Otis brand.
* Current chimes: Heard in the current batch of OTIS elevators; GeN2-Regen MRL and MR, OH 5000 and FOVF elevators.
* Other/custom/generic chimes

* Floor passing beeps: Series 1 and Series 3
* Button beep: Series 1 and Japanese OTIS
* Door opening and closing beep from Singapore MRT (Downtown Line batch)

The Series 3 hall lanterns are some of my personal favourites.
4:13 These lifts are actually pretty efficient. Some of them simply have predoors turned off so they open their doors after the motor completely brakes itself. Others sometimes opens the doors before the motor brakes.

At least every elevator brand in history has had Mitsubishi-sounding chimes, either inherited from modernisation or is actually built-in by the manufacturer

Otis Copied Mitsubishi
Not really. Its the common chime of elevator. Because it is easy to compose and easy to hear while pleasant to the ear too.

Many elevators make two sounds going down and one sounds going up. This is in order to be in compliance with USA's ADA (probably bringing the same programming to Europe).

Nope, that elevator is not modernized by Mitsubishi. It's actually an OTIS that was made in Japan. I'm still not sure why OTIS was using Mitsubishi chimes during that time.

Sorry no, those are indeed original unmodernized OTIS that, for some unknown reason uses Mitsubishi chimes as those type of OTIS elevators were manufactured in Japan.
