• Electronic chimes (2): Commonly heard in Singaporean-made Hitachi elevators since the mid 2000s. Normal pitch for older installations and higher pitch for later installations. These chimes are commonly heard in Singapore and Hong Kong.
• Custom/generic chimes from Oriental Hotel Georgetown in Penang, Malaysia.
• Classic bell chimes (3): Commonly heard in modern Hitachi elevators made by Guangzhou Hitachi Elevator.

I wonder why Hitachi elevators are rare here in Indonesia. Too expensive, or the maintenance costs itself?
I wonder why too. They used to be quite common in the 1980s-1990s, but they're slowly becoming less popular in the early 2000s. They are often found in government buildings or statutory boards in Jakarta, but rarely in commercial buildings.
Hitachi? These elevators are popular in Japan, but in other countries they aren't popular...
They are also very popular in Thailand, China and Singapore.
I have ridden alot of hitachis (mostly YPVF) some of them had square pushbuttons and modded buttons in Thailand
@@idl3k_elev malaysia has also quite a number of Hitachi they are mostly found in shopping malls, but rarely office towers
Hitachis are quite rare here in Indonesia. They are now mostly found in government and some ministry buildings in Jakarta, but very rarely in commercial buildings or even shopping malls. I'm pretty sure they were quite common back in the 1970s and 1980s, but now they are very rare. Even the newer ones from the 2010s onwards are found in government buildings, one of them is the Ministry of Home Affairs.
2:04 I hate this chime, The japanese ones better
