  • I am now the owner of my very First Electric Bike. It's known as the Hiboy P6 Fat Tire Ebike and it's a pretty impressive bike. Earlier this year I had reservations on owning an Ebike, but I've seen how they've become increasingly popular and when Hiboy reached out to me with the opportunity to review this bike, I figured I'd see what the hype is all about. But... is an Ebike for everyone? I'll share my thoughts about owning an Ebike compared to an Electric Scooter and I'll also share some good & not so good things regarding this bike.

      I have the eco-trick hammer bike. When you hit the brakes it shuts the motor off doesn't this one do that it's a safety precaution? Mine is 1,000 Watts it has halfway good hydraulic brakes. Changing the brakes and bleeding them is not that easy and they won't do it at the bike shop. But I can do it I've done it. The bike ecotrick Hammer is for people 6 ft or taller. Unless you do what I did and get a new seat Paul that is not a shock because it comes with a shock in the seat Pole. Just Bare Bones for $1,400.48 750 watts now mine is 1,000. It can go up any Hill unless I have the wagon on it with camping stuff then it's not that easy cuz I have one leg and I can't pedal I can't wear my fake leg it hurts too bad. I just bought a really nice battery for $500 20 amp hours I can go 30 miles on that one so now I have three batteries and I can go 70 miles without pedaling on a good day and a bad day try half of that maybe if it's really windy or something going up hills cuz I don't pedal. I made it from Batavia New York to Albion New York on One battery one and a half batteries to go from Batavia New York 30 Mi to Lakeside Beach last year. Then I went 13 miles to Hamlin Beach camp there for another week and it was 34 miles home that was serious range anxiety LOL. Well I just thought I'd tell you some of my e-bike Adventures it is fun. Especially when you don't have a license you got one leg and it saved my life get on and go. I've had to change the brakes I'm going to put that stuff in the tires flat out it has 1300 miles I really don't have to change the tires but they're getting a little worn. It's hard for me to work on the bike and flip it over its 70 lb 60 lb with you take the battery out. I've been to bike shops and they are really expensive quality bikes. Not what I could afford how much is this bike? I have to learn how to put a new controller and it will give me a little more power not much but some. Most of these bikes you can unlock the speed. How many amp hours is that battery it looks really small? People want big batteries well I do if you're not thinking about it when you first buy one the battery is the most expensive thing in the bike. If it goes it's like $500 I have three actually I have four and I left one charging for way too long and I think it burned out the BMS. People should be very careful charging their e-bikes. You should unplug it after 5 hours or whatever when it's charged. This does look like a nice quality bike minus the brakes I'd like to change out my handlebars for some kind of BMX handlebars or ones like these cuz they old schools that the hammer bike has are painful on a long trip I mean they look cool it looks like an old motorcycle. What I like about it is it has the fish battery not a battery like this. You can fit mostly any fish battery that is 48 volts in that bike cuz it goes under the seat I fit the 20 amp hour and it just barely fits barely. I think I'd like to look up this bike and see the price

      To make a long story short and I know I always make the story too long I got stop that the bike when you are like me and have one leg saved my life I am free when I'm on the bike no wheelchair can do what the bikes can do it doesn't matter which one if it's halfway decent one. My friend likes my bike he was going to buy an e-bike and he bought the electric light 350 Watts I'll do circles around him LOL. You didn't really say how fun they are to ride? And you think they're going to break and the motors keep going forever some people that have my bike oh wait this is a long story some people that have my bike have 9,000 miles. People have figured out it cost like 50 cents to fill up a battery to go 20 miles that's pretty good

    Nice idea, I like it, one thing that would definitely improve the versatility of this bike would be a electric generator that is powered by the bike itself as the bike is rolling along, to generate a charge back to the battery, another thing that would help is a friction generator that engages when the brakes are applied, I'm very sure that there are ways to get further down the path while going full blast and the bike generates it's own power, keep tinkering with it HiBoy

    These kind of bicycles are great for people that are out of shape. You can use the pedals like you normally would but if you get winded or you're trying to climb a steep hill you can use the motor until you get healthier and your body adjusts to doing it by yourself.

    What a great review Jay. I'm now leaning towards an E-bike over a scooter. Do to my health issues this is a most definite way to go (less stamina with physical activity). When I was healthier and could do 50 mile bike rides, I used cycling gloves, not the motorcycle type. These have pads to help absorb the impacts felt in the grips. Maybe this will help in discomfort you experience. Also maybe a bike carrier would help out the transportation of the bike on your vehicle. Just my 2 cents buddy 😉. Stay safe out there and thanks for the great information.👍🤙

    Look like it has some good components like the shifter, derailleur, hub motor. I agree that hydraulic brakes would be nice for the price point. Trp makes mechanical calipers that squeeze both brake pads and really only need adjusted when changing pads, but I'm already used to adjusting mechanical calipers.

    • @JPVideos81

    Gotta love a video with a length of 21:02 🚂😉 I'm so glad you got to try out an eBike! I can vouch firsthand for there being pros and cons of the eBikes versus eScooters. My eBike is a lot smaller, but still difficult to transport. I use a motorcycle carrier on the back of my truck that I can roll it on and off of. Much easier than trying to lift it in and out of the bed or onto a conventional bike rack. How much does your eBike weigh?

    Great review! Professionally done.
    I have three questions:
    1. Does it have a cruise control mode like many scooters do? I have a Hiboy S2 Pro scooter and if I hold the throttle in a constant setting for 5 seconds, I hear a double-beep and I can now let go of the thumb throttle and relax.
    2. Scooter tires are notorious for being difficult to change. It's not like changing a bicycle tire. What about this bike? If you got a rear flat do you feel like the average person could change it as easily as if it were a regular bicycle? I hear that many bike shops will not do any work on an eBike - not even help change a tire.
    3. Could the not-so-ideal handle grips be replaced - or, are they an integral part of the system?

    • @JPVideos81
      @JPVideos81  10 місяців тому

      There's no cruise on this bike. Fat tires bikes, especially 26" tires are very easy to change. The biggest thing with the rear tire is the cassette & chain. The motor just unplugs. There's youtube videos showing how to do it. My local bike shop sells and repairs ebikes, but mostly for tires & brakes. I haven't looked further into different grips. Hope that helps.

    So now with a few scooters and soon a few e bikes whats next? I like the ebike better than scooter so you can get a little exercise. I was so glad everyone had helmet on. Cuz sht happens. And we would miss you. God Bless xoxoxox

    I’ve watched several UA-cam videos on this e-bike and all the top speed tests maxed out at 28 mph, not sure why yours is only going 22.

      Apparently it can be unlocked which I wasn't aware of at the time.

    Is the P6 better than P7 ebike?

    • @JPVideos81
      @JPVideos81  Рік тому

      Two completely different bikes with specific differences. P6 is built for off road use, can handle a heavier rider and is a heavier bike. P7 is built for road and light trail use. Bike is very light, but limited on it's capabilities.
