Christian, I sort of disagree with you a bit: Swiatek lost not because she did not play her level but because Zheng forced her to play worse tennis. Zheng dominated this play. I would add, that some of their previous encounters were not so easy for Swiatek and statitics showed that Zheng had more winners but also more unforced errors. Therefore Zheng's strategy was, as she said herself, to stay patient and excercise pressure but strong hitting close to the lines to provoke Swiatek to lose precision. I think that this match is a masterclass of mature strategy.
Zhang has quietly been getting better and better over time. I saw her in US open 2023 and was really impressed with her skill and play. I predicted that she will become one of the top ten players soon. There's no hype from media. The media loves to coddle their favorite players while ignoring the real talents in tennis.

Congratulations Zheng! Iga’s biggest problem is herself and her fragile mental state. She is aware of this and that’s why she travels with a mental coach on her team. At her age she’s very accomplished but she has a difficult time handling pressure and stress. Based on Iga’s reaction after the collins match she looked stunned with Collins comments. It’s for certain that she was thinking of that with her match with Zheng. Again congrats to Zheng! We shouldn’t applaud when people are going through hard times especially mentally. Find strength Iga and come back strong.
I have the most respect for Iga's consistency and it is inspires me. The rest of the field has made so inconsistent against her that only FOUR of TWENTY TWO titles consist for more than one three set match. She is so used to winning 6-0, 6--1 sets that when it is time to win ugly and pull back to back three setters against in from opponents she crumbles. That Collins match stressed her and Zheng was confident from defending a title so just like at AO and Miami she crumbled to a big hitter after 3 set scare from a previous match against the same style of play. The way Carlos won ugly at W - pior to final - Iga doesn't yet have that, she hates adversity on court unlike Carlos who smiles through hardship.

Where did Iga start crying when called don't go her way? also I literally agreed with you so why you are saying I am fooled is weird. Iga's method of bathrooms breaks and raising her hand when someone is serving are well within the rules so people don't notice much
Coco already done umpire debates several times. Dont play victim to defend her.
Donna Vekic plays well on that match

Did you not see Iga cry? Wow
Tsisi is one if those players are great players but due to the era, he may never be #1.
It is not a shock when any of the women lose. The top 30 or so are just about interchangeable and the top 50 or so can beat them all on a given day. The men's tour is totally different. The top 5 or so men are legit and it IS a story when they lose.
Really? 😂
Oof. Iga has won 4 of the last 5 tournaments on this court. There's nothing interchangable about that.
Iga has been unbeatable on clay all season and she has four GS titles at Roland Garros so her defeat was at least a big surprise. But she( Iga) has not looked that great after winning that French Open title two months ago. She skipped the grass court season then lost limply at Wimbledon. Then she has looked quite inconsistent at the Olympics. Not sure what’s going on with her but she will definitely will not be a favorite at the US Open.
@@juismacShe hasn’t been unbeatable Rybakina beat her this year at Stuttgart semi-final but I get your point.
@@juismacI did become worried that she would lose seeing how she played against Danielle Collin’s ,I think the pressure of wanting to wing Gold really got to her and it was really sad to witness.
Iga had high ego😂. That tears are her ego melting into vapour thanks to god lord Buddha she will be now good women 😂😂😂
Swiatek not my cup of tea
She has (No sportsmanship)😮
