if you compare this with the release version, you see they made tons of changes since, like heart containers on different locations, bush sprites and sounds are more appealing. It was really a grea... no. AWESOME game. Loved it!
Michael A. Harper they are adventure games, meaning youll do a lot of exploring. Sometimes there will be some intense combat you'll have to go through. Sometimes you'll have to solve riddles or sections in Dungeons that will make you think. It's got a bit of everything.
I'm from the future and unless one enters a dungeon the first time in A Link Between Worlds which takes more than 20 minutes to be familiar with the puzzle (ICE RUINSSSSS and DARK PALACE)!!! yeah!
I still remember the day I saw this trailer. I read the title of the video, but didn't give it much thought and thought it was just a cleaver nod to Links name... I was not prepared for an actual god damned sequel to A Link to the Past. This trailer hit so effing hard.
Why didn't you stay with A Link to the Past graphics Nintendo!???!?!?! SOME of us WANT a game with oldschool graphics!!! Please re-do SMW with the SAME GRAPHICS, SAME LEVEL DESIGN, SAME CHARACTERS. Just NEW levels! I would dish out $60 for that in a heartbeat!!!!! And while you are at it.... SUPER MARIO RPG 2!??!?!?!?!?!?! PLEASE!!!!!! (No I do not care is Paper Mario was the "sequel" to Super Mario RPG) WE NEED ANOTHER ONE!!! a REAL one!!! Or at lease an HD REMAKE?!?!? WHY WHY WHY DON'T YOU DO THIS?!?!?
***** well, excuse me for not knowing every single abreviation in the entire videogame industry. My first guess would be Super Mario World but it would be out of context since you were talking about Zelda originally.
If you study the shield you can see another piece of the triforce falling the the bigger piece also if you look at any of the older versions you can se it's clearly one big triangle without the hole that can be seen in the current day triforce
I dont have a nitendo 3ds, actually my xbox360 was a gift that i merley used it. I have followed the Zelda new's from years back (last game i played was Majora's, and of course Ocarine of time, ). But i have to say it....I REALLY WANT TO PLAY THIS ZELDA LOOOKS FREEAKING AWESOME, GJ!
Nintendo hasn't denied the MM remake. Actually, they've been hinting at it. Majora's Mask has appeared in 2 3ds games. New Leaf, and Link Between worlds.
The overworld map will be similar, with some changes. The dungeons, from what I hear, will be completely different. I imagine they'll have an assortment of new items as well. At least one or two items that utilize the 3D capabilities.
I really like the look of link in this one. It's a good re-creation of link,it looks more like link was supposed to in a link to the past but you couldn't really tell the differences from only 10-20 pixels of hair
This is definately the zelda game that I have been waiting for for about 15 years. A link to the Past is my favorite game of all time and this looks very similar. I just hope that they have all the great items that they had in A Link to the Past.
LttP was made in the early 90's, actually. Plus I hope this sells amazingly, because this is the sort of game that sets Nintendo apart, and in a good way. I always thought that games of today lost their charm, focused either too much on realism, or very few simply stood out as original AND fun. This is a way to go back to what may loved about games before with the technology of today. It is fantastic. :) In fact all these throw back game ideas are the only reason we bought a wii & 3ds.
Hate to burst your bubble, but we've already had footage from the game itself pretty much confirming that it is a different story. There's an elder that you talk to in the game that mentions the events of A Link to the Past, mentioning both Agahnim and his plot to free Ganon and how it was thwarted by a young hero. (Even said how long ago it happened too, listing at least three grandfathers I think). This game is about the lasting effects of Dark World on Hyrule now. Different story.
I ment that it is rare to see Link in the titles name; its only Link's awakening, Link to the past (like you said), and The adventure of link.these games, Nintendo had made over 15 year ago, and haven't used Link in a title ever since, until now.
It actually is a sequel.. in some gameplay videos some NPC's allude to the events of "A Link to the Past" as having happened several hundred years earlier.
i recently bought a 3ds xl and right after playing mario 3d land i went to play this game and it is one of the best games of this genre i just love this game
It's the remake of the SNES Zelda: A Link to the Past. It was arguably one of the best titles of the franchise, and many old fans are going to enjoy this for nostalgia. Try it before you knock it, because if it expands on that awesome game, then it should be a very big and fun adventure.
There is a 3DS XL Legend of Zelda coming out Nov. 22nd at least for the US for $219.00 which comes with a download code for the game. Just search for ti online. I know most people prefer to actually have the cartridge though like myself.
I never played a 'top-down' zelda game before this, but decided to try it out. It was one of the best Zelda's I played! Now I'm actually trying to finish the 2d zelda games that I never played, and the 3d zeldas until the new one comes out lol
In order of questions: 1. If you're getting an XL, get the bundle. Unless the gold things are unappealing. If you're neutral or like the style, get the Bundle. 2. The 3DS XL is not made of cheaper material. 3. It's stretched, but you probably won't even notice it.
I don't get why though. It's a good idea, I mean, for kids who can't watch 3D because it will hurt their eyes and all. Also, the 3DS breaks quite easy, so they made 2DS more hard to break, so it's just a 3DS for kids. I don't get why people doesn't like it.
I know what you mean but to me, it looks like my reply went through. It was actually directed to a person that replied to JenkPac before him, basically trying to confirm whether or not the games really aren't canon. JenkPac is wrong anyway, its been confirmed this is the sequel to a Link to the Past, taking place 6 generations later.
He is right though. Back in the day, I can remember always looking forward to a new Zelda game because it was always an original title. In this day and age, Nintendo is spending more time remaking previous entries, resulting in less time to concentrate on the more important original titles (and it's not limited to Zelda either). If people really want to play Ocarina of Time and/or The Wind Waker again, then download it via virtual console. It's essentially the same game anyway.
Skyward sword came after ocarina of time 3d. And nintendo said that they delivered wind waker in the mean time for us to wait for the next big zelda next year.
this is what i heard: The arcade game "Donkey Kong" was originally from nintendo. Shigeru Miyamoto was also a producer, or he even invented donkey kong, i really dont know now. They wanted to continue the DK series and gave Rare the permissions of DK, so that nintendo could concentrade more to their other games like zelda or mario. Rare made it to a Jump n` Run. They could`ve continued that, if rare wasnt bought by microsoft. :( And now Retro takes the DKC series alive.^^
The mapping seemed EXTREMELY similar to link to the past and I even saw one of the bosses in the trailer as well. There are some obvious differences but I wouldn't surprised if it's extremely close to Link to the Past
And Majoras Mask topped OOT in my opinion. Wind Waker was excellent. TP was different, but no doubt an amazing addition. All of the DS titles were really fun. Link Between Worlds brings back great memories of A Link to the Past. Link to the Past is my second favorite in the Zelda franchise under MM.
So I saw the Wii U wind waker bundle at Walmart today... I almost started crying as I jumped up and down with excitement... I ran to my parents and told them with utter joy, they went over there and when I told it cost 300$ my dad, of course said "Let me clarify this, NO." I've felt like crap, the rest of this day... My heart is broken.... :'(
What he's saying is that Consoles are not PC's they're computers. Because PC's are Personal Computers. In the same way that Consoles have the specific function of playing games and other little extras a PC is made for specific home use. Each can be modified to do different things because they're computers, but a console is not a PC. They're both computers however. The computer part is the blank slate and the console/PC is an extension of that. He's just differentiating between PC and computer.
Not really. They mention the plot of A Link to the Past," which does have lasting effects here, but it's all pretty much explained in the game (one video shows an elder explaining the events of that game and how they're having lasting effects on Hyrule in this game).
well, re-released, then. I believe there was a revamp during the DS era, though, to coincide with the original 4-swords. Glad to hear it's a sequel, but the bosses look eerily similar.
Well "A link to the past" was on the NES first then they remade it for gameboy and "A link between two worlds" is tied in with "A link to the past" some how I don't know how but its not a remake to "A link to the past".
The thing with Zelda games is that almost all are amazing. This one doesn't seem the most likely to be the favorite of all Zelda players. And I know I haven't seem the graphics in person, but coming from a Nintendo Game to a 3DS, they should be better than even OOT.
It's good year for the 3DS, New Pokémon, Year of Luigi, Animal Crossing, and a New 2D Zelda. I still wish for a Full 3D Zelda 3DS (Besides MM) in the future though!
I owned a DS Lite since they came out, and I always renounced the new iterations of the system. Now they have forced my hand by releasing the next Gen of Pokemon on 3DS as well as this title. I bought a 3DS XL yesterday! What I am getting at here, is that Nintendo knows what they are doing. These mega-titles sell units.
I actually want a 2ds and I want it because i´m having constant nostalgia about zelda and my goal is to play every legend of zelda including this one of course
One of the best zelda games I've ever played. Still playing it. Also one of the best sequels.
I 100%ed it again this year. It’s one of my favorite games.
Is it a sequel to Links Awakening?
@@mad493913 A Link to the Past obviously
This game introduced me to The Legend of Zelda serie, and boy! what a serie!! The adventure, the puzzles, the music(!!)
David DSB me too
Same! :D
You picked the perfect game to start you off then.
*series
Thankgod he didn't said mu ic @@pkmntrainermark8881

Pokemon xand y and now this. Thank you Nintendo
so it seems the time to pick up a 3ds has come!
I know, I think it will be my xmas present
XD
The sole reason I'm getting a 3ds.
a quien corresponda I think so too
Lol I got one years ago.
The big incentive was Mario Kart
I remember seeing this while watching the e3 presentation. I was blown away, and this game is still incredible!!
O.O Wow, a lot has changed since E3
I don't see any change
Shield (colour and flame-blockage), that boulder below Link's house, Fairy Fountain lighting, Link's voice (the one in trailer is from WW I guess)
also when you exit after merging in a wall the sound is different
Michael A. Harper they are adventure games, meaning youll do a lot of exploring. Sometimes there will be some intense combat you'll have to go through. Sometimes you'll have to solve riddles or sections in Dungeons that will make you think. It's got a bit of everything.
So one of the last games I remember Link not yelling 'YA!' at everything is remade...with him yelling 'YA?!'
nooooo
OOT young Link yells "HYAAA?!" too!
Seven years later, today I finally bought it ♥️🤩
Damn had it since 2013 christmas
Who watches this in 2018?
Dreamy Master me
I can't stop watch it
your mom
There's gonna be a new 2d zelda
2019
Im so glad some of the sound effects changed cuz they do not sound right to me
My wife won't let me have my Zelda edition till my birthday, il be 42
I feel your pain. My wife bought it for me around Thanksgiving and is making me wait until Christmas. I'm 29.
Worth the wait
HAPPY Birth Day
Damn, you're 50 now.
Who’s here after seeing links awakening remake?
it'll be usable there too, don't worry. The commercial was just likely made before the 2DS was announced.
Is it just me or is the dungeons in this game kinda short?-.0
they are. none of them took me over an hour to beat.
I'm from the future and unless one enters a dungeon the first time in A Link Between Worlds which takes more than 20 minutes to be familiar with the puzzle (ICE RUINSSSSS and DARK PALACE)!!! yeah!
I want a remake of the first game on Wii U. Something like Ocarina
Also, they ocarina of time for the 3ds.
I still remember the day I saw this trailer. I read the title of the video, but didn't give it much thought and thought it was just a cleaver nod to Links name... I was not prepared for an actual god damned sequel to A Link to the Past. This trailer hit so effing hard.
shut up and take my money
Shut up and take my money!
New Storyline Minor changes to landscape, Dungeons are so so much more creative and different Link.
These comments are so unreadable.

okay then.
That's called a romhack and there are hundreds

That Legend of Zelda music starts up and suddenly I'm a kid again. Well played Nintendo...
Nintendo hasn't denied the MM remake. Actually, they've been hinting at it. Majora's Mask has appeared in 2 3ds games. New Leaf, and Link Between worlds.

Even though I beat A link to the past like a bunch of times I would still love to play this.
Awesome!! ALTTP was such a mind blowing game. Music, plot, dungeon, puzzle, world size, what a masterpiece.
This is definately the zelda game that I have been waiting for for about 15 years. A link to the Past is my favorite game of all time and this looks very similar. I just hope that they have all the great items that they had in A Link to the Past.
Love the camera view. It remembers A Link To The Past
A Link to the Past on Super Nintendo was by far the best Zelda game ever made. This reminds me of it so much.
play both the first one is amazing and that can only make this one better
LttP was made in the early 90's, actually.
Plus I hope this sells amazingly, because this is the sort of game that sets Nintendo apart, and in a good way. Is it weird that i'm jumping around screaming and crying because of the awesomeness that i actually have a 3DS to play this on?
I have never been into the zelda series. (At the exception of four swords on dsi and link awakening DX). Might give this one a try
It is not a derict sequel, because it plays years after a link to the past, you play as another Link. But its the same map.
And thus, so ended the life of sarcasm, rest in peace sweet prince.
It actually is a sequel.. in some gameplay videos some NPC's allude to the events of "A Link to the Past" as having happened several hundred years earlier.
i recently bought a 3ds xl and right after playing mario 3d land i went to play this game and it is one of the best games of this genre i just love this game
Well the good news is that it's a button controlled game and not touch. The only thing this game uses the touch screen for is the map and inventory.
What a surprising direction. Didn't think they would be doing sequels of some of the early zelda games.
Nostalgia slapped me in the face-
Supposed to be major hit this coming holiday season
So do you a link to the past was one of the best games of all time and the fact that they are making a sequel is epic.
It's the remake of the SNES Zelda: A Link to the Past. It was arguably one of the best titles of the franchise, and many old fans are going to enjoy this for nostalgia. Try it before you knock it, because if it expands on that awesome game, then it should be a very big and fun adventure.

Getting the new limited edition, so pumped.
ME TOO
maybe this is the game that links the defeat, child, and adult timelines together
I dont think so, its the same timeline as A Link to the Past since it's a direct sequel
WOW Link to the past gets the 3DS 1ST CLASS treatment. I'M BUYING THIS BEAUTY
I never played a 'top-down' zelda game before this, but decided to try it out. It was one of the best Zelda's I played! Now I'm actually trying to finish the 2d zelda games that I never played, and the 3d zeldas until the new one comes out lol
you should try out ToZ: THe Minish Cap if you have a wii u
Weenie The Pooh Will do!
In order of questions: 1. If you're getting an XL, get the bundle. Unless the gold things are unappealing. If you're neutral or like the style, get the Bundle.
2. The 3DS XL is not made of cheaper material.

Just bought a Nintendo 3DS, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and this :) Is mostly looking forward to play this, it looks extremely brilliant! =D
I don't get why though. It's a good idea, I mean, for kids who can't watch 3D because it will hurt their eyes and all. Also, the 3DS breaks quite easy, so they made 2DS more hard to break, so it's just a 3DS for kids. I don't get why people doesn't like it.

its like TP, a spiritual sequel that takes place centuries after, but not direct
looks like they are going back to the stuff that made link's awaking such a good game
He is right though. Back in the day, I can remember always looking forward to a new Zelda game because it was always an original title. Well, wether or not a game is memorable depends on the player, since I played first the 64 ones, those are the ones I remember with most nostalgia
The mapping seemed EXTREMELY similar to link to the past and I even saw one of the bosses in the trailer as well. There are some obvious differences but I wouldn't surprised if it's extremely close to Link to the Past
Already Pre-Ordered it. Can't Wait!
yeah b/c when i think of change,i think of a barley modified overworld thats still the same as the one back in the early 90s
My friend told me that Demise will be coming back in this game, and that we will find out about why the center of the triforce is missing.
So I saw the Wii U wind waker bundle at Walmart today...
I almost started crying as I jumped up and down with excitement...
I ran to my parents and told them with utter joy, they went over there and when I told it cost 300$ my dad, of course said "Let me clarify this, NO."

AHHH ich kanns gar nicht mehr erwarten, bis ich es endlich kaufen kann!!!!!!!
It's not a "3D gimmick". It works exactly as glasses-less 3D appliances work. It has a ton of features that the others do not have too.
people would be just as happy if they got a majoras mask sequel, the audience of snes era is also audience of n64 era
2 months 2 days left till this game comes out!
Not really. They mention the plot of A Link to the Past," which does have lasting effects here, but it's all pretty much explained in the game (one video shows an elder explaining the events of that game and how they're having lasting effects on Hyrule in this game).
This fits after AlttP and before the original Zelda, prior to the "Princess Zelda I tragedy."
They'll make that game when they get to it.
Don't worry about Moldorm! He's been brought down a few notches. He doesn't regenerate if he knocks Link off the platform anymore.
Yep, definitely amazing. The overworld seems so similar to ALTTP (yes I know this is a sequel), so I might feel like I am in familiar territory. :D
Can't wait for to experience the new story. I wonder where Zelda plays in all this. We didn't see her in the developer direct...
you do realize nintendo is what saved gaming back in the 80s right. and thats for a damn good reason
Hopefully we'll get some info on the story soon.
well, re-released, then. I believe there was a revamp during the DS era, though, to coincide with the original 4-swords.
Glad to hear it's a sequel, but the bosses look eerily similar.
FINALLY, Nintendo is revisiting, in my opinion, the best Zelda game. This right here might be the reason I get a 3DS.
Well "A link to the past" was on the NES first then they remade it for gameboy and "A link between two worlds" is tied in with "A link to the past" some how I don't know how but its not a remake to "A link to the past".
That power up looks freaking crazy, I am excited!!
Now, Link is back to kick some ass
The thing with Zelda games is that almost all are amazing. This one doesn't seem the most likely to be the favorite of all Zelda players. And I know I haven't seem the graphics in person, but coming from a Nintendo Game to a 3DS, they should be better than even OOT.
i cant even count the amount of face palms i am executing right now
I love this game and zelda a link to the past
It's good year for the 3DS, New Pokémon, Year of Luigi, Animal Crossing, and a New 2D Zelda. I still wish for a Full 3D Zelda 3DS (Besides MM) in the future though!
Why can't we heart the rest of the trumpet at the end? IT sounds so GOOD
You think Lites are durable? I had 3 hinge cracks in 6 years on mine. They just break on their own.
No link's awakening isn't a sequel as from a storyline viewpoint and a link between worlds will most likely take place after a link to the past
I'm sure if you have a 3ds you can get a demo off the eshop when a game comes out.
play the minish cap!! It was my first Zelda game and still my favorite!
I actually want a 2ds and I want it because i´m having constant nostalgia about zelda and my goal is to play every legend of zelda including this one of course
