I passed my driving test in a Ford Fiesta, identical to this one in May 1982..Lovely cars to drive & this video shows an absolute gem of a sought after classic..
Just bought a MK1 popular completely original last month 950 engine one mirror no rear wiper or heated window. No radio not even a cigar lighter and 54000 miles on the clock
Very nice example of an early MK1 Ford Fiesta. Always a good idea to take the key out of the ignition before slamming the driver's door shut ! unless you have a spare key somewhere !
Una belleza, que por suerte tuve durante 34 años en color champan con el mismo acabado, el dia que me separé de el parecio que se me murio un familiar, un privilegio verlo de nuevo, y todos los que teneis en el canal, enhorabuena, Un saludo.
Ver nice! I wonder what the second, unmarked warning light is there for? It lights up during starting. I think for this quite luxurious GL version, Ford shut have put the clock instead of the gearshift pattern, instruments now looks a bit sparse for a GL. Below the asher the clock is hardly visible.
Looks beautiful, I really appreciate the variety of cars you have for sale at your showroom and can't wait to see your listing for this one... I would love a MK1 Fiesta as a first car :-)
Now that is beautiful and a rare car in GL trim, bright wheel rings and chrome trim round the window frames are the giveaway. Is the Fiesta an 81 as for the 82 model year they gave it bigger bumpers. The colour might be Terrecotta.
Never understood why they couldn't put the gear selection on the gear stick like every other car, instead of putting it on the binnicle. Like you needed to be reminded every time you looked at your speed. Still an excellent example though.
The mark one Fiesta was very nice to drive , comfortable and very nippy . The mark two was not as nice , the seats were too low and Ford off set the steering column position.
Nice looking car. I remember when this generation Fiesta was here in the USA. I was too young to drive the car, but I remember admiring its box-like shape. I've never seen one in this nice condition. Isn't the petrol filler a little low on the car? Isn't it supposed to be further back and up above the black strip below the window?
Thank you Jason. Incidentally the sixth generation Ford Fiesta was introduced in North America in 2010 making it the first Fiesta available in the US since the first generation discontinued in 1980. The fuel filler is exactly where it should be. It was sited quite low on the Mk1 and facelift Mk2 Fiestas.
KGF Classic Cars It's incredible how long ago it was when this generation was introduced to the North American (USA) market. I've never understood why it was discontinued from the US market after only one year here.

Thanks for your positive comments
Had the same car in the same colour on an X plate but it didn’t have those bumpers, plain Matt black as I recall. This is a stunning example. Thanks.
Thank you!
How lovely my first car was a 1.1L loved it......the wash wipe was a foot pump on the floor 😂

Na.. Sunset Red... Biggest give away of the GL model was the passenger door mirror..
The Pumpking King I have a GL with only one on the drivers side...

These Fiesta with the same colour had my mother in the mid eighties. Until I crash into a tree with him , that was the end of Fiesta's life.
A sad end thank you for your comment!
Time travel is possible
It is at KGF Classic Cars!
