The ultimate Ford Fiesta XR2 with an incredible fully stamped history and one owner!
EQUIPMENT
Wind-cheating aerodynamic front and rear spoilers, halogen headlamps, tilt-or-remove screened glass sunroof, arch extensions, air deflectors, front driving lamps, digital header mounted clock, anti-burst door locks, special XR2 bodyside decal treatments, extended black window surround paint, storage compartment under rear-floor, two speed plus intermittent wipe, tailgate wash/wipe, heated rear window, tachometer, trip recorder, soft feel special steering wheel, cigar lighter, illuminated interior controls. Dealer fit options; tailored Ford rubber over mats, locking wheel nuts.
EXTERIOR
This amazing Ford Fiesta XR2 has remained with just one owner from new and has been preserved in stunning, completely original condition. The paintwork finished in factory Ford Diamond White (code B3) has a brilliant pure shine with a uniform finish thanks to being garaged from new. All original panels are straight with linear gaps completely free from rust or corrosion. A tiny ding on the nearside front wing and nearside door are both barely noticeable and certainly take nothing away from this stunning Fiesta. The factory original appeal of this special vehicle is accentuated by standard trim sections, bumpers and single body-side coachline, correct and in immaculate order. Even the supplying dealer number plates remain fitted! A true fast Ford icon in factory original condition.
INTERIOR
The interior of this remarkable example is in spotless original condition and exactly as Ford intended. The Monaco trim in Bluestone colour scheme (code L4) is beautifully clean and the common vulnerable areas for wear such as the seat bases and bolsters are as new. The colour-keyed velour carpet is clean and free from wear having been protected from new by rubber Ford over mats. All switchgear is functional and intact, and the soft finish dashboard is perfect. The header mounted digital clock retains the correct grey LCD display and the original Ford stereo radio/cassette (Model ESRT 32 PS) remains in place. The hugely difficult to source original trimmed parcel shelf is intact, straight and complete with the correct rubber hangers. An absolute testament to the owner's devotion to uphold the originality of an all-time Ford great!
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The time proven transverse mounted 1597cc OHC engine with twin-venturi carburettor develops a lively 95BHP at 5750rpm and 132Nm of torque at 4000rpm. In such a lightweight and nimble car, the sense of fun and that unmistakable exhaust note make this car truly addictive! A top speed of 109mph and 0-60 in just 9.3 seconds is eagerly achieved. The engine is wonderfully quiet and smooth, owing to a lifetime of fastidious care and maintenance, all evidenced in the fully stamped service book. The standard specification automatic choke and electronic ignition are both present and correct, and operate perfectly. The smooth five speed synchromesh gearbox with remote shift is light and exact.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Five Special 'pepperpot' 13" X 6" alloys wheel shod in brand new Yokohama 185/60 R13 tyres remain with the car, with the spare retaining the original Pirelli P6. Only very light scuff marks to the outermost rims are noticeable and certainly do not spoil the glorious aesthetics of this car. The dual line servo assisted brakes with ventilated 9.4" front discs and 7.0" rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.
HISTORY FILE
A truly incredible and unrepeatable history file make this example very special. Registered new on 12th June 1989 by Ford Main Dealer Crimble of Staines Ltd to the first owner Mr Derek Doughty, who has been the only keeper of the car since. A New Vehicle Sales Invoice illustrates the purchase price of £9,030 including an allowance for part exchange of £5,000 for Mr Doughty's 1987 XR2. Optional extras listed include, mats (£15), locking wheel nuts (£20) and Ford Extra Cover (£79.13).
The original Ford A5 folder contains all original handbooks, guides and radio instructions as well as the service booklet containing no less than 24 stamps documenting the 59,841 miles covered. The fully stamped service book is additionally noted with all work carried out and documents cambelt changes. A further colossal history file contains countless invoices and receipts for maintenance work, and an insight to the owner's quest for perfection is seen with many worksheet requests showing where Mr Doughty has insisted on a full checkover.
To find such an original, one owner example with a fully comprehensive history file is incredibly rare and an absolute delight for any classic car enthusiast. A vehicle for the collector it's needless to say, but certain to impress any motoring fan with an appreciation for the utter devotion an owner has for their beloved car. - Авто та транспорт

I had one D91 SPU 2nd car some 25 odd years ago i loved it honestly it was just beautiful. Ford really had a good car in the xr2. I miss mine looking at these now wish i still had it
Thank you for sharing!
I bought my wife one of these from new in 1987, i think the colour was moonstone? Your video did a strange thing to me as when you opened the door the interior smell came right back to me. This was a great car and felt really special at the time although it was a bit slow next to the MK2 Golf GTi
Malcolm Lane-Ley very special
Ahhh Crimble of Staines was my local ford dealer. I loved my D reg 87 xr2 in Rosso Red which I drove from 1989-1992 happy days
Thank you for sharing!
Lovely little car.
Thank you!
Love these finding one back in the day that hadn't been shelled, bumped or stolen was a task but they were years ahead of there time especially handling wise..you would buy this just for the memory's 👍
Great cars!
lovely car its a shame about the small dent in the passenger's side wing tho
Thank you for your comment!
The centre cap is wonky in the steering wheel and it bothers me.
Why the oil press warning light didn't work?
Good spot!
mark 1 and mark 2 Fiesta XR2,are still a great shape,mark 3 was horrid!,nice car!
The MK1 and Mk2 Fiesta are firmly a modern classic, but the Mk3 is not without its charm!
KGF Classic Cars
the mk3 suffered severe rust problems. all fiesta's did until the mk6. the mk2 will always be my fav my grandma had one and it was bullet proof.
@@jaggass i have a mk3 since 94 ,never put it on a garage and still rust free and it´s my daily car today, it´s diesel 1.8L, regards

KGF Classic Cars I should be thanking you for posting up this video history classic I will always look at the xr2 as one of the best fun cars there was they were like go karts small and nippy ford need to bring this model back
Is that door shut?....
Thank you for sharing!
The metro GTI 16 Valve was much faster and a better all rounder.
how the hell can you compare a rover metro to a ford fiesta? the metro had a k-series engine which blew gaskets all the time, rot faster than a dead body too. the fiesta XR2/i is a great hot hatch. most of them are gone but you do see them from time to time. rover was wank and im glad they have gone.
Mathew Jenner sorry Mathew...I owned both the ford a lot better
Metros were rust buckets!! I had an MG Metro and lusted after the XR2, but never could afford one 😩
What utter tosh.
No way
