I used to listen to Perch a long time ago. I don't think I've watched him since around the same time I stopped listening to Ya Boi. I used to love Ya Boi, but he definitely lost his way and he definitely doesn't know how to produce comics. I had backed so many of his books and wasn't getting any of them (perpetually late) and yet he was still putting out new things to back constantly. I called him out on it and he refunded all of them. I was fine with that.
From his age and location he was likely an early Amazon employee, used a small part of his windfall to semi-retire from tech and open a comic shop. He was still doing consulting when he started the channel, and he had to move the family to texas for a job, so I suspect he is not as wealthy as he likes to put on airs about. He's also your typical alcoholic, lots of big talk and plans, very little execution or consistency. My guess from the consulting work is that he is a marketing and brand strategy sort.
