Walking Through the Fires of Tomorrow

Society is entering troubled times. Every day, we see images of suffering from around the world: the ravages of capitalism, imperialism, ecological domination, white supremacy, transphobia, patriarchy, and all other hierarchies of power. The barrage is so non-stop that it can feel overwhelming. It is good that many of us are outraged and feel compelled to take action, yet it is tempting to get stuck posting on social media and engaging in symbolic gestures, rather than asking what must be done to affect real change.
The current system thrives on our inaction and encourages us to accept small, controlled forms of protest and political engagement. This limited approach leaves many feeling hopeless or trapped in ineffective cycles of anger and resentment. We're constantly pressured to conform to a system that perpetuates inequality and destruction. But every moment we waste, our communities are suffering, nature is being exploited, and fear divides us into smaller and smaller groups which are easier and easier to defeat. The current powers exploit these divisions, believing we won't resist.
But we must refuse to settle for token efforts. We must refuse to fall into despair. It's time to imagine and create alternatives that can challenge this oppressive system and build something new. Cooperation Tulsa welcomes those who dare to dream beyond despair, who will join us in building up the power of the people, from the bottom up. Only together can we dismantle the old ways and build something better. We are not alone. The Zapatistas, Rojava, Fejuve, Cecosesola, across the planet communal structures are rising. We must build power for the people here and now, where we live.
It will not be easy. This path will require bravery, creativity, determination, and a rejection of half-measures. We can’t accept small reforms or beg for concessions from the powers that be. We can’t let our humanity fade under the shadow of hierarchy. If you share our resolve to fight oppression, join us.
