Society is entering troubled times. Every day, we see images of suffering from around the world: the ravages of capitalism, imperialism, ecological domination, white supremacy, transphobia, patriarchy, and all other hierarchies of power. The barrage is so non-stop that it can feel overwhelming. It is good that many of us are outraged and feel compelled to take action, yet it is tempting to get ...

This was definitely the best video on the channel so far. I hope yall continue to upload, despite how busy it can be. I'm hoping to learn a lot from Cooperation Tulsa, and hope to see this model expand alongside other anarchist methods for building popular power.

Can I ask why yall pull the mustard greens instead of mowing with a bag to collect the clippings? Is it to pull the roots out to remove as much of the leaded material from the soil as possible?

We just didn't want to mow where all the irrigation was set up, in case the mower hit the hoses.

very cool! i'm curious: if you use mustard greens to draw lead out from the soil, how can you safely use it in compost? doesn't this recycle the lead back into the compost and consequently back into the soil if and when you use it?

I had a similar question. My guess would be that the micro-organisms in the compost are supposed to break down the lead? But I'm not sure.

We have been told that chelation can bind up lead and make it less bio-available. Furthermore, composting dilutes the material, lowering the density.

I was going to comment that you should grow sunflowers for lead phytoremidiation, so I looked it up to make sure I was remembering correctly, but I learned that it's a misconception. I also learned that lead phytoremidiation, in general, is likely a misconception. However there is hope in phytostabilization, which uses compost and/or biochar to stabilize the lead. Anyway I dont want to come off as an expert because i haven't done too much research on it so I may be wrong, but I just wanted to point it out. Solidarity and good luck!

@@QueenEllouise I think you are right. I did wonder, but I thought that they seemed to lack the hair needed. I think that the video quality that I was using wasn't too good, because a 2nd looks shows them clearly.

Interesting system. Sink for cooling is important! One day you'll have an outdoor shower, I'm sure. Very useful for the post work rinse offs.
