  • We've all heard of base training, high-volume / low-intensity, endurance miles and zone 2 riding, but why do we have to spend so many hours in the saddle? That's exactly what this video is all about. I'll talk about the top 3 reasons why endurance training improves performance and then I'll give you a few pointers on how to incorporate "long" rides into your training plan.

Dressing up like backwards hat Dylan and then roasting Dylan is very inspired. The comedy was like the peanut butter that tricked me into eating the information pill. Great job!

I was taught in the 90s to ride LSD if I weren't doing the group "race" or a real race. I always felt that this type of riding built a kind of "subtle power". Good to know the simplified science behind it.

I love how you explain things to where they're easily understood and using actual examples. I feel like I'm learning things that actually are relatable and usable in my training.

I like that you reframe "endurance" as "non intensity" I think that makes a lot of sense rather than trying to stay in a specific zone the whole time it's more of staying OUT of higher zones.

    Good video, is there a difference between 2x 2.5h z2 rides and 1x 5h z2 ride?
    Perfect fueling and same hr/pwr?

DREW, What do you think of Maffetone vs Z2? It seems Z2 has more range.. But is Maff method a good sub for Z2?

A lot of people go out and do an ‘endurance’ ride but is it possible that riding too frequently, too easy can actually hurt your fitness, hurt your power ?

It’s still a training ride I guess not just a cruise. I’ve been trying to get better at cycling by watching UA-cam grain of salt with my words

Lets be honest all of this is void and null if your running the wrong tires and pressures.
