A few weeks ago I lended my crockpot and instant pot to a friend who needed to cook a bunch of soups for a party. As I was loading them into her car my 5 year old started crying. When asked what was wrong he replied, “but how are we going to eat?” Shows you how much we rely on our crockpot around here.
Since I have a big family, I usually just use what I have to make taco soups. I use whatever meat I have, ground beef, or ground turkey on boneless chicken. I always add the taco seasonings and ranch seasoning, you can use chili powder, tomato sauce, tomato and green chilies. I used to add corn, now I add hominy, beans whatever kind I have, pinto beans, chili beans, kidney beans, black beans, If I'm low on ingredients I'll add a can of chili.
Watching your video made my day! My favorite slow cooker recipe is for French dip sandwiches. Toss 3 lb chuck roast, 14.5 oz beef broth, 1 packet au jus seasoning, and 1 packet dry Lipton onion soup mix into the slow cooker. Cook on low 8-10 hours, shred and serve on rolls or over rice!
Love your crockpot videos! They're my favorite and I used to have a love-hate relationship with my crockpot. The more I use it and follow step by step recipes like yours the more confident I feel making them and just more confident with my cooking in general. Keep them coming!
Oh my goodness Abby those crockpot recipes are making me drool!! Definitely going to make all of them!! That precious baby boy is beautiful. Love ya sweet friend ♥️
You are the most down to earth person I've found on YT that is budget friendly, SAHM, maker of cheap and easy (but not using a ton of gross ingredients) slow cooker meals. THANK YOU for not making videos just to make $$. Your content is REAL and it's extremely hard to find that on YT now.
A very healthy and delicious crock pot recipe is vegetarian minestrone soup. You can add anything to it that you have, veggies (chopped onions, celery, carrots, corn, zucchini, canned tomatoes, etc), any beans for extra protein (kidney beans, great northern, etc), noddles (I prefer the small shells). Use veggie broth or any broth to cover the ingredients and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. The main ingredient and what gives the soup the biggest punch of flavor is a small jar of pesto. You add the whole jar in with the rest of ingredients and stir. Cover and cook until your noddles are done. I put it high for 6 hours. After it’s done you can always stir in some spinach and top the soup with Parmesan but it’s not necessary. Very easy, very healthy and super tasty. This recipe is also a great one for little toddlers that are in the puréed food stage bc you can blend the soup and it’s a good puréed consistency. I like to freeze it in little cubes so I have a small stash of healthy quick meals for my toddler. ❤
I bought your veggie chopper a couple years ago and I use it almost daily! I would hate to live without it. Love your cooking videos and appreciate you taking time to make this ❤️
Congratulations! Your baby is amazing! I can’t believe you are still giving us recipes with that sweet boy in tow! These recipes look fabulous and so easy - I will be trying them soon. Thank you so much for sharing and have a beautiful, Blessed day ❤️
All your kids are so cute and your newest is so adorable! You look amazing and are doing a great job!! I am going to try all of these crockpot recipes. I hope you share more recipes because you always have the best easiest ones! Thank u!!😊
I have so many crockpot recipes. I cook in mine a lot...I have a daughter with severe autism and a lot of days I don't have time to tend over a stove and cook. Stuffed peppers: put a jar of sauce in your crockpot with a little water to clean out the jar. Cut the tops off your peppers and pull out the seeds and place standing up in crockpot. Mix raw sausage or ground beef or both with a cup of rice, a chopped onion, and a large can of crushed tomatoes. Season how you want. Put your mixture into your peppers. Pour another jar of sauce over peppers and let cook on low for 6-8 hours. Yum! Vegetable beef soup: stew meat, beef broth, canned vegetables of your choice untrained, seasonings of your choice, cook on low for 6-8 hours. You can make almost anything in a crockpot...lasagna, soups, pasta and meatballs, casseroles, even desserts.
Wow! I love all these recipes 😋😋😋 Can’t wait to try them. I’ve already have today’s meal planned so tomorrow I’ll make the taco soup. I have all the ingredients for all of these meals. I’m also an Aldi shopper. I have that very same chopper. I don’t utilize it enough but your recipes are about to change that! ☺️ Congrats on your precious baby! I would suggest crockpot liners to make cleanup easier. Sometimes I double crockpot recipes and when we’re done eating, I pull out the liner, tie it then stick it in a gallon ziplock bag and freeze it. On busy days I lay it out to unthaw then put the food directly onto a dish and nuke it. Unless it’s soup, I just use paper plates to make cleanup easy. God bless and have a wonderful day!
You are killing it, Momma! I’m so impressed and proud of you for making all those dinners for your family after just having birth the baby I’m not sure that I would be able to keep it together like you are whatever happened to the neighbors making your meals when you have babies lol
Chicken taco soup: 1 chicken breast cooked in the crockpot smothered with salsa and a package of taco seasoning (On high 3-4 hours) Shred the chicken and add: 1 can black beans 1 package frozen corn 1 can Rotel (Mild, or switch for hot if you want it spicy) 1 can water with chicken boullion Taco seasoning packet Additional salsa (thickens it up and I use the chunky, so it adds onions and peppers) Cook on high 3ish hours. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream and a torn up flour tortilla. Note: I meal prep meat once a month and freeze in small packages to make evening meals quick. So I cook some "salsa chicken" and freeze it to have ahead of time. I use it in this recipe, and I also use it for chicken tacos. When I have the salsa chicken in the freezer I only use 1/2 of a large chicken breast for this recipe. If I'm cooking for a crowd (like pot-luck) I use two chicken breasts, three cans of beans, two corn, and two cans Rotel. I will usually use one hot and one mild can for the large batch.
@@patriciamcintire I hope you try it sometime. It’s so easy and is always a hit. People ask for the recipe, which makes me laugh, because I just made it up and never measure anything!
It is so awesome that your kids eat that food. My son was so picky and he refuses to eat crockpot meals. He doesn’t like stew type food and I love them.
Yuuummm! Super easy and realistic meals for this season of life! A couple really easy/basic crockpot meals I do… ”chicken parm pasta” chicken breast, jar of marinara, block of cream cheese, salt/pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder. Cook according to your crockpot (they’re all different lol) and then I just boil up some pasta and mix it together. Add a little pasta water to help it combine. Top with mozzarella and parm cheese 👍🏼 “Asian shredded chicken” chicken breasts, soy sauce, brown sugar, chopped garlic, pepper, ground ginger, sesame oil. I don’t measure anything 😅 I just sort of mix it together and add a splash of water to combine and then pour it over the chicken. I find this one is better on low because the brown sugar tends to burn for me when I do it on high. We serve it over rice with a frozen veg like broccoli or green beans. “Sausage and peppers” Italian sausage (in links) I cut them in about 1 in pieces. 2 big bell peppers (any color) and a large onion sliced. A can of diced tomatoes (I’ve used plain, Italian seasoned, or fire roasted) salt/ pepper, Italian seasoning. Cook all day for sure because the sausage it raw when you put it in. So I give it a stir a few times while it cooks. Sometimes we have this as a sandwich on a roll and toast it in the oven with some cheese melted on top. We also sometimes eat it over rice. These are just a few I could think of off the top of my head! We also do like salsa chicken (chicken and salsa and taco seasoning) and bbq chicken (bbq sauce and chicken) hahah. Very easy! 😊
Great, easy to prepare recipes. Thanks. My taco soup is never exactly the same. I work with what is on hand. I usually make my own taco seasoning. Super easy. Last week my hubby made some with ground beef and left the pot out overnight. Ugh! Had to throw it out. We were going to have lemon pepper chicken the next day, but we made more taco soup with the chicken. Sometimes we use ground turkey. We like a can of hot enchilada sauce in ours to add spice. I also like extra green chilis and tomato paste and tomato sauce.
Thank you for these amazing recipes !! And thank you for making these videos literally after having a baby!!! You go girl!!!! Your doing an amazing job and I think your amazing!!!
I LOVE crockpot meal/ideas as that is my life saver each week, being a busy mom of 5 kids and all have activities 🫣🤪🙃🥰 I’m sure you completely understand. Keep them coming🤗 pulled pork or chicken is prob my most simplest;) just put the meat, seasoning of choice if you want and then bbq sauce and 8 hours later you have pulled pork for sandwiches 🤗 I had to work another 12hour overnight yest so when I got off yesterday am- I put in my crockpot- 2 chicken breast, jar of salsa(or Rotel), cup of chicken broth, and packet of taco seasoning and 7/8hrs later we had shredded chicken taco meat for tacos 😉🤗so I love my crockpot, she saves me on those struggle is real kinda days 😛
Love the video: “Cooking With Van”. My daughter had her baby the same week you delivered, and I plan to share these easy recipes with her. Also purchased the vegetable chopper because I saw it in your videos. I love it!!!
In my taco soup I do black beans pinto beans ranch seasoning taco seasoning ground beef or chicken and stock I believe lol then add cheese and sour cream . This week we made the cheddar broccoli soup and no leftovers 😊 . I love soups and easy recipes thanks for sharing !
Love watching your channel and the simple food ideas :) We enjoy chicken and noodles. It's a basic recipe I found online, but its chicken breast, stick of butter, cream of chicken, chicken broth in the crockpot. Cook on low all day and about 30-40 minutes before you're ready to eat shred the chicken and you add Reames egg noodles. You can also add peas, or corn. Season how you'd like. I use garlic salt, onion powder, and pepper normally :)
I invested in a food chopper a couple of months ago. I LOVE it!!( I prep my veggies and freeze them.)Totally recommend it for people with arthritis in hands
Chicken and rice in crockpot. A few Chicken breast,2 sm cans cream of chicken, salt and pepper Cook until chicken is done Once chicken is cooked shred in the crockpot and add another small can cream of chicken with at least one can of water and 2-3 cups instant rice. Stir and make sure the rice is under the liquid. Let cook in crockpot with the chicken about 30 min. The instant rice will soak up all the soup/ water and should be creamy Taste to make sure rice is soft. That’s it! Super easy/ no effort chicken and rice. We eat it with hot sauce on it❤
I love your dump and go recipes! They are so delicious. I just got a smaller crockpot that I think will work better for my family (there’s 3 of us). I’m going to be trying these out for sure!
Abby, I am having a deja v u moment here, remembering discovering your videos years ago only it was Sybil ( hope I spelled that correctly) you were holding! Kind of brought tears to my eyes. How time seems to fly by Love the crockpot, so keep them coming, especially the ones with sausage.
Lol my two year old saw a couple of these, pointed and said “that look tay!” meaning that looks tasty! 😋. And “that look yum!” 😆😁 these were great great thanks Abby!! They look easy and delicious.
I already love that potato soup recipe from the fall soup video you shared, but now the crockpot version 😍 Can’t wait to try all of these! I try to do one crockpot meal a week so I don’t have to come home to cook!
Just made taco soup this week!!! I did frozen chicken thighs, black beans, corn, and a can of fire roasted tomatoes. top with cheese and sour cream, and chips to dip! We’re extra simple 🤪
hi abby! thank you so much for these recipes. you are so much appreciated. 6 ingredient taco soup. i am a family of 4, 2 teens included lol. so i will be sharing the amount i typically make. 2 lb of ground beef 4 packets of taco seasoning 2 regular size cartons of chicken broth. 2 cans of diced tomatoes 1 can of black beans (rinsed) 2 packs of cream cheese (regular) (softened) and of course these are optional but who wouldn't right? lol shredded cheese a dollop of sour cream on top tortilla chips and whatever else you love. cook the meat. then add all the ingredients together. cook on low for a couple of hours, stirring occasionally. 🤍 - brandie
They all looked tasty! I don’t really use my crockpot much anymore ever since I got my instant pot years ago. That a really easy way to make roasts or chicken.
Favorite crockpot meals are...Split pea and ham soup, 15 bean/ham soup, chili, and roast with barbeque sauce on it. I use my instant pot a lot too and meal prep things like taco meat for the week. Tilapia tacos (not crockpot lol) are a fast meal for busy nights...i just put olive oil and taco seasoning on the fish, the kids love it!
I make my taco soup with ground beef, ranch seasoning, taco seasoning, canned corn, pinto beans, and Rotel. I only drain the beans and add very little water. We put cheese on it and eat it like a dip with tortilla chips.
Taco soup 1# ground beef 5 cups water 4 beef bouillon cubes 1/4 tsp cumin 3/4 tsp chili powder 1 cup salsa 1 cup orzo pasta 1 can corn 8oz sour cream Brown ground beef and then drain. Put the rest of the ingredients in and let cook until pasta is done. About 10-15 minutes
My fav. Taco soup recipe 1/2 pound of ground Beef 1 can of Mixed beans with beef stock 1 can of Diced Tomatoes with jalapeño and onion Paprika, garlic, cumin, salt 1 cup of Water Toppings Sour cream Cheese Cilantro Chips
Taco soup: we switch it up between shredded chicken or ground beef. Then, it’s corn, beans (either black beans or pinto beans), rotel, tomato sauce, chicken broth, taco seasoning. Sometimes I’ll use cream of chicken soup if I’m using shredded chicken. Dump all of it in the crockpot and cook low all day. We add taco toppings, like green onion, cilantro, sour cream, shredded cheese, avocado…..sky’s the limit!
Chicken and rice is an easy crockpot recipe. Add your chicken breast( we add a piece for each person) 2 cans of cream of mushroom and one packet dry onion soup mix. Cook on low for 6 hours. Serve with rice. It makes a gravy while cooking so we pour that over the rice!! It’s really good and easy!!
I make my soups similar to yours. For taco soup and enchilada soup, I add a poblano pepper (seeded and chopped). It's delicious without adding heat and I also add chopped cilantro before serving. Try picante chicken - 2-3 chicken breasts, 16oz Pace picante sauce, 3 tbsp mustard, 3 tbsp brown sugar. Crock pot high 4 hours, low 6-8. Serve over rice and a side of green beans. Fideo (my way) - 2 chicken breasts (I season and fry them in a skillet for more flavor. Add in crock pot. Add 6-8 cups chicken or vegetable broth, 1 diced onion, 1 can diced tomatoes with seasoning, 4 oz can diced Chiles, 1 can black beans rinsed, 1 can corn drained, and cook high 4 hours or low 6-8 hours. Pull apart the chicken. Add a small bag of fideo pasta, stir and cook just a few minutes. Top with chopped cilantro. Stir. Serve with shredded Monterey Jack on top. My family loves it with Texas toast. Van is so cute!
Yuum all these looked delicious! I would eat all of these for sure my hubby on the other hand is picky lol. I don't have any crockpot meals to share but I think I'm going to start using mine more!
I love to use the ranch beans with jalapeños and fire roasted tomatoes in my taco soup. I understand if you can’t have it very spicy because of children. I love to make Gnocchi soup and Zappa Tuscan soup in my crockpot both use shredded chicken. Van is getting so big.
I put cream cheese in my taco soup for it to be creamy.. It's super good!! We leave the beans out, but we do a keto Friendly taco soup... I will have to try this one!!🙂
My favorite is pork green chili. I make a pork loin roast for a previous dinner. Leftover pork roast at least 2 cups of cooked meat (more is better) Half an onion A can of green chilies A can of navy beans A can of chili or pinto beans One can of tomatoes diced Chicken broth 1-2cups Chili powder Onion powder Garlic powder Season salt Season pepper Cummin Spices are to your taste preference. I usually do a couple of teaspoons full of each. Maybe more of the chili powder. Cook on High for 3 Hours or Low for 6 Hours in the crockpot. Top with cheese, sour cream, avocado and green onions or salsa Whatever you prefer!!
Abbey you and Trey have a beautiful family. ❤ i love watching all your videos ❤ You keep taking care of that family and the new baby Van hes precious ❤ i will always continue to watch you ❤ Love You ❤
You can always regrow green onion, just place the ends in a little water and they will resprout, then cut the tops off again, I plant them after that, and they regrow
A few weeks ago I lended my crockpot and instant pot to a friend who needed to cook a bunch of soups for a party. As I was loading them into her car my 5 year old started crying. Since I have a big family, I usually just use what I have to make taco soups. I use whatever meat I have, ground beef, or ground turkey on boneless chicken.
Good stuff!

That sounds really good!
Do you use the green or red pesto? Or either?
I make it with green pesto 😊

Chicken taco soup:
1 chicken breast cooked in the crockpot smothered with salsa and a package of taco seasoning (On high 3-4 hours)
Shred the chicken and add:

Once chicken is cooked shred in the crockpot and add another small can cream of chicken with at least one can of water and 2-3 cups instant rice. Stir and make sure the rice is under the liquid. Let cook in crockpot with the chicken about 30 min. The instant rice will soak up all the soup/ water and should be creamy Taste to make sure rice is soft. That’s it! Super easy/ no effort chicken and rice. We eat it with hot sauce on it❤
Yumm!! Thanks for sharing!
I love your dump and go recipes! They are so delicious. I just got a smaller crockpot that I think will work better for my family (there’s 3 of us). I’m going to be trying these out for sure!
What size crockpot do you use.. I need to get a small one as I cook just for myself.
@@lashortyislabonita623 I got a 4.5 qt and it’s the perfect size for us!
@@FrugalLifeThriftyWife thanks for your reply.
@@lashortyislabonita623 of course! I hope you have a great day 😊
I'm glad you like them and I hope y'all enjoy!
This comes in handy, Abby! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I am 20 weeks with my 4th baby and I'm trying to continue to make home cooking a priority but it is hard! Love crock pot meals. 💙
You got this!
Abby, I am having a deja v u moment here, remembering discovering your videos years ago only it was Sybil
( hope I spelled that correctly) you were holding! Kind of brought tears to my eyes. How time seems to fly by
Love the crockpot, so keep them coming, especially the ones with sausage.
Aww yes time does fly! Thank you for watching!
Lol my two year old saw a couple of these, pointed and said “that look tay!” meaning that looks tasty! 😋. And “that look yum!” 😆😁 these were great great thanks Abby!! They look easy and delicious.
High praise right there!
I already love that potato soup recipe from the fall soup video you shared, but now the crockpot version 😍
Can’t wait to try all of these! I try to do one crockpot meal a week so I don’t have to come home to cook!
It's so good! That is awesome!
Just made taco soup this week!!! I did frozen chicken thighs, black beans, corn, and a can of fire roasted tomatoes. top with cheese and sour cream, and chips to dip! We’re extra simple 🤪
can't beat that!
I love your recipes 😋❤️
I'm so glad!

Thank you for sharing - love it!
They all looked tasty! I don’t really use my crockpot much anymore ever since I got my instant pot years ago. That a really easy way to make roasts or chicken.
Definitely!
Great video thank you for sharing ☺️
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing!!
I'm definitely doing that mexican casserole yum 😋
Hope you like it!
I make my taco soup with ground beef, ranch seasoning, taco seasoning, canned corn, pinto beans, and Rotel. I only drain the beans and add very little water. We put cheese on it and eat it like a dip with tortilla chips.
Can't beat that!
I have never had or made taco soup before…I’m going to have to try it sometime 😊
It's so good!
Your an awesome mom!!!
thank you!
Congratulations!
❤
Taco soup
1# ground beef
5 cups water
4 beef bouillon cubes
1/4 tsp cumin
3/4 tsp chili powder
1 cup salsa
1 cup orzo pasta
1 can corn
8oz sour cream
Brown ground beef and then drain. Put the rest of the ingredients in and let cook until pasta is done. About 10-15 minutes
YUM!
My fav. Taco soup recipe
1/2 pound of ground Beef
1 can of Mixed beans with beef stock
1 can of Diced Tomatoes with jalapeño and onion
Paprika, garlic, cumin, salt
1 cup of Water
Toppings
Sour cream
Cheese
Cilantro
Chips
That's a winner!
Our taco soup is similar. I add pinto, chili and small red beans. Try topping it with Fritoes instead of tortilla chips. Yummy. Family favorite.
Oh yum that would be good!
We add black olives and eat ours with cheese, sour cream and corn chips. Love it
yum!!
Yum that is awesome!!
That sounds so good!!
Love your videos and love your recipes! I do prefer hearing you talk rather than the background music though
Ok thanks!
Love crock pot meals very easy
Me too!!
That sounds so good!
Adorable 🥰
:)
I never made taco soup, need to try this.
Give it a shot!
Yuum all these looked delicious! I would eat all of these for sure my hubby on the other hand is picky lol. I don't have any crockpot meals to share but I think I'm going to start using mine more!
Definitely start using it more - it's the best!
This is great and works for busy dad's too!
❤ absolutely!
I like your videos so much!
I'm so glad!
Your new baby is beautiful!
Thank you!! 😊
I love to use the ranch beans with jalapeños and fire roasted tomatoes in my taco soup. I understand if you can’t have it very spicy because of children. I love to make Gnocchi soup and Zappa Tuscan soup in my crockpot both use shredded chicken. Van is getting so big.
Great recipe ideas thanks for sharing!
I put cream cheese in my taco soup for it to be creamy.. It's super good!! We leave the beans out, but we do a keto Friendly taco soup... I will have to try this one!!🙂
Sounds great!
Taco soup yes!!! Chicken salsa tacos, tic tock pasta, Mississippi chicken or roast, 7 can soup.
Yum!!
My favorite is pork green chili.
I make a pork loin roast for a previous dinner.
Leftover pork roast at least 2 cups of cooked meat (more is better)
Half an onion
A can of green chilies
A can of navy beans
A can of chili or pinto beans
One can of tomatoes diced
Chicken broth 1-2cups
Chili powder
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Season salt
Season pepper
Cummin
Spices are to your taste preference.
I usually do a couple of teaspoons full of each. Maybe more of the chili powder.
Cook on High for 3 Hours or Low for 6 Hours in the crockpot.
Top with cheese, sour cream, avocado and green onions or salsa
Whatever you prefer!!
Yum! thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing have a good day.
Have a nice day!
@@thesimplifiedsaver thank you.

You can always regrow green onion, just place the ends in a little water and they will resprout, then cut the tops off again, I plant them after that, and they regrow
Great idea!!
You do a great job 👍Hi from Missouri
Thank you and hello!
