Here's another fact! In 68 Elvis's closing song! "If I can Dream" was directed to this horrible incident! It hit Elvis hard, especially due to the fact it happened in his home town.

Thanks Jordan for another great vlog. Good history lesson. I was 7 yrs. Old and remember Mum & Dad watching on the news. They told us a bad man killed a good guy. Looking back, it was a good explanation to four young kids. You are so respectful when you cover these types of stories, Scott too.

Welcome to Memphis. Most people who come have plans for Graceland, Sun Studio and music related places, but the Civil Rigjts Museum shouldn't be missed. In addition to all the displays highlighting the history of civil rights, they end with visiting MLKs actual room which they have kept as it was on that day. Jordan, you did an excellent job in telling the story of that tragedy.

    Great episode, Jordan ♥️
I went about 5 years ago and they allowed me to film but I think they stopped it not too long ago. I'll never get rid of the footage. Has his room glassed off and you can see they still have the ashtray filled with cigarettes and the plates by his bed along with so many other amazing things to see; Bus, phonecall with LBJ etc...
Also, the owners wife suffered a stroke later that night and passed away five days later, sadly.
Jesse Jackson said that he was in fact tying his shoe when he was sh#t in the cheek, which then traveled all the way to his shoulder.

I appreciate you posting this. I’m 60 & when I was a toddler, people who were black were still not allowed to sit at the front of the bus! Isn’t that just nuts?? And shame on some white people of today that think they are the only ones that should be here!
One of the beauties of our Democracy is that if you don’t like it here, you are FREE TO LEAVE!
Everyone who hate’s Democracy and diversity should just pack up and go live where other haters congregate.
Gosh if not for diversity in our Democracy, we wouldn’t have anything good to eat! Lol! America has the best food choices in America BECAUSE of our diverse culture!! Mexican food ! It’s what’s for supper tonight!

What an incredibly sad time! Martin Luther King Jr was the epitome of peaceful reform. In a time where there were signs everywhere saying blacks with an arrow that indicated where they could sit and cafes, drink from filthy fountains and stand in lines where whites would always be served first. It was a scary time because of the riots and unpeaceful protest in sharp contrast to Dr King. However, his legacy will always live on! Thanks Jordan for walking through our history!

Jordaniare, you did an amazing vlog and its important that vlogs like this get made. I watched a documentary that came out in 2020 called "MLK/FBI which was based on recently declassified files. This explains the conspiracy quite well. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker Sam Pollard explores the US government's surveillance and harassment of Martin Luther King, Jr. It explains how J Edgar Hoover really hated MLK The film indicates Hoover's involvement in the murder of King. It is really sad because they mention that when King was brought to the hospital he could have been saved but Hoover and his men ordered the doctors to let him die and one of the even spit on him. Our government had blood on its hands for sure. Its sad because it seems like anyone who really wanted to do good in our country was murdered by evil people in our government.

My mom was on bed rest and due with twins (my bro and me) the day MLK was assassinated. She remembered thinking, “What kind of terrible world am I bringing these babies into?” On the contrary, I’ve witnessed amazing civil rights activism among my generation and those that followed. Evil will always be waiting to stomp out the light, but sometimes it only makes it shine brighter. #MLK ✨

I have been to the Lorraine Motel many times while working in Memphis and 3 times to the Civil Right Museum, 2 times on the tour, and the 3rd time my wife and I watched President Barack Obama take the oath of office in 2009. We sat 3 seats away from Rev Billy Kyles. Reverend King was preparing to have dinner with Kyle's that evening when he was tragically gunned down. Seeing King's blood that still stains the concrete next to room 306 will bring tears to your eyes and a lump in your throat. It makes this event in history very real.

I had the opportunity to visit his childhood home in GA, as well as the grave where he and now his wife lay at rest! I went with family my uncles wife family and it was then that I learned soooo much that the history book/courses never taught! When it was revealed that he was was unfaithful in his marriage honestly I just couldn’t believe it, but who was I like who am I to argue with adults who were actually there!! It did spark my interest in history of the lost of historical figures!! Move forward to the day that Barack Obama was sworn in as president and making history as the First African American to be in office, I always said had it not been for the strength of Martin, Malcolm X, Amelia Boyton, Corretta Scott-King, and several other invisible giants (A new name used in my home town of Selma, AL to honor those who marched and fought but went unknown especially during the annual bridge crossing jubilee which they end every year with the March on Sunday to honor “Bloody Sunday”) we would have never had an African American as president!! They all marched, so that Barack could run, but not only run, but exceeded all expectations!!
