Hi, you can quench it or let it cool naturally, doesn't make a difference how you do it, Nice result on the fitting of the bearings and crank. And the magneto repair, top job.
As spectacular as ever Brian. I have (in France) a B31 which works, but it has been in the same condition since I bought it in 1970. Would you be willing to restore it for me ?
@@zaheeralam6974 Hi, the originals were used as they positioned the conrod in the Center of the crankcases with just a small amount of end float. Hope this helps.
@@bobpin3076 Bob, I bought a whole pallet load from a technical college , round, square and flat bas all described as bright mild steel. The ends of some of the round bars are painted white and all covered in thick oil but I don’t know what that means, I’m no expert with metals and would like to learn more. I could send you a sample if you could identify it. It turns great with a good finish. Sorry I can’t be more help. Cheers Brian
@@500dbd34 Thanks for the reply Brian, I also do not know much about grade other than what Dr Google tells me. I also mainly use bright mild steel. regards Bob
Thank you for all the specifics involved with a lower end assembly….tricks of the trade!
Thanks for the comment, always appreciated.
