Hi, you can quench it or let it cool naturally, doesn't make a difference how you do it, Nice result on the fitting of the bearings and crank. And the magneto repair, top job.

That quenching in water prob just speeds up cooling so u can get little jobs done quicker. Very good. Thanks for the demo

    As spectacular as ever Brian.
I have (in France) a B31 which works, but it has been in the same condition since I bought it in 1970.
Would you be willing to restore it for me ?

@@zaheeralam6974 Hi, the originals were used as they positioned the conrod in the Center of the crankcases with just a small amount of end float.
      Hope this helps.

Could you please tell what grade of steel you have used for the bolts.

@@bobpin3076 Bob, I bought a whole pallet load from a technical college , round, square and flat bas all described as bright mild steel. The ends of some of the round bars are painted white and all covered in thick oil but I don’t know what that means, I’m no expert with metals and would like to learn more. I could send you a sample if you could identify it. It turns great with a good finish. Sorry I can’t be more help. Cheers Brian

@@500dbd34 Thanks for the reply Brian, I also do not know much about grade other than what Dr Google tells me. I also mainly use bright mild steel.
      regards
