The temp agency that I work for offers medical insurance for my wife and me but it would cost approximately $1,100.00 per month, which is roughly my mortgage payment.

I was fairly healthy but had high blood pressure and and high sugar With medication I was easily able to control these problems. Fortunately a hospital in our area treated persons without insurance We paid a fee but at least I got needed health care. Agreed! The only problem is that the lawmakers (from both parties btw) are getting large sums of money from the health insurance lobby. This isn't going to change by writing your senator or congressman. There's no incentive for them to change. Why would they want to stop the gravy train?
I live in Japan which has national health insurance. I currently suffer from a lung disease and every month I get a check up by my doctor which costs me 10,000 yen (around $70). That included a blood test, a chest x-ray, medicine, and a 30 minute consultation with the doctor. I point this out to my family and despite that and they pay hundreds for insurance every month and then see a doctor and still have to pay hundreds of dollars, think the US system is better.

The fact is that laser surgery is cheaper (& more successful) in comparison of the disc surgery that insurance companies cover. Typical disc surgery would cost about $100k, with a follow up surgery of another $100k, while laser surgery is $36k, with no follow up surgery, usually.

Thank you doctor. You shine the lights into my views now. I understand what you are sayinging. I am one of those patient that has been denied payment to my primary doctor. I have to pay out of picket and fight with the united Healthcare. I changed my insurance to blue cross now.
In your opinion, Dr. Deuk, would doctors be on board to change over to a single payer system in this country? I feel that the only reason that “We the people“ have health insurance companies who are running amok is because we ALLOW it! There needs to be a grassroots effort to protest like never before to get rid of the insurance companies and finally switch over to a single payer system. My fear is that doctors would not go for that, especially since the AMA lobbies in Washington against it, and it would prevent doctors from making untold amounts of money per year.
In November 2024, the majority of voters decided against it. While the left is variable on this issue, the right consistently and solidly supports deregulation. They want companies, including insurance companies, to do whatever they want. Their voters spoke in favor of that, and they're a bit quiet right about now, but come January, they'll get more of what they voted for. The right has spoken, and that's what they said they want, over and over again. And they won the election. The people have spoken.
I have wondered for YEARS why doctors/AMA haven’t spoken out about this injustice. People listen to doctors. In their silence I think they’ve failed us as well.
If more doctors switch to an ONLY CASH method of payment for their clinics, and create their own payment methods, the insurance companies would go out of business!!! Doctors have a voice much MORE than us regular people.
AMEN to cash/co-op medical practices!!! (except for the part where my employer FORCES me into their "insurance" ponzi-scheme, and I don't get to politely opt out and take a cash-equivalent for the premiums they gouge out of every paycheck)

Thank you, doctor, for speaking out on this; we really need your profession to do this en masse. As of now, I make a living doing temp work while I build a K - 5 reading tutoring business. The temp agency that I work for offers medical insurance for my wife and me but it would cost approximately $1,100.00 per month, which is roughly my mortgage payment.
I was without health insurance for 17 years. Thank God! I was healthy during that time.
Thank you Doctor who are not afraid to tell the truth. I hope more doctors comes forward to speak the truth.
Yes, tell me about it. Between deductibles and co insurance and co pay.
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Wow thank u for speaking up! 5 million denials a year?
he said a day.
Yes he said daily 😮
He said 5 million denials a day.
When I was under retirement age I had to take a job that didn't offer health insurance benefits We tried to buy insurance and were willing to pay for the Monthly Premium in Full No One would sell me insurance! I was fairly healthy but had high blood pressure and and high sugar With medication I was easily able to control these problems. Fortunately a hospital in our area treated persons without insurance We paid a fee but at least I got needed health care. (The doctors who treated uninsured patients were internships doctors in training) Thankful for this situation 🙏👏💘💯
Thank you, Dr. thank you thank you for stepping forward. We need all of us to come together the patients the doctors everyone in the 99% we have to go against the one percent there are many many more of us than them. God help us!!
Thank you doctor. God bless you and your family for honest and direct message to politician and insurance companies. OUR POLITICIAN ARE CORRUPT AND ONCE THEY ELECTED THEY FORGET WHO PUT THEM IN THAT RUEL. WE NEED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.
This is a man who is in it to help people, you can tell by his words. I seriously hope you guys get your system together asap
THANK YOU DR.FOR SPEAKING OUT. PUBLIC NEEDED YOU & YOU COVERED IT PERFECTLY.
Greed greed and greed
Thank you Doctor.
I have the same back problems with a few more to add to it. I know the pain as many other people do.
To deny LIFE SAVING treatment is unforgivable...Thank you Doctor for speaking out!
Thank you!!!
This should be broadcasted throughout the entire country! United Healthcare should shut its doors.
Class action
Thank you.
Well said sir. We are in trouble in this country in more ways then one. Americans no longer trust the "system," & 2020 did not help matters.
Thank you for speaking out against the unconscionable practes of health nsurance companies
Libertà per Luigi..🙏🙏
Aetna doing same thing. I’m getting denial for surgery. They don’t care that my back hurts crazy and I need to take pain medication. Went to private doctor and was told surgery needed as as possible. Health care mafias
You said it! There needs to be laws against the type of practice the health insurance companies get away with!! 💯🌟👍
Agreed! The only problem is that the lawmakers (from both parties btw) are getting large sums of money from the health insurance lobby. This isn't going to change by writing your senator or congressman. There's no incentive for them to change. Why would they want to stop the gravy train?
👍💯
I live in Japan which has national health insurance. I currently suffer from a lung disease and every month I get a check up by my doctor which costs me 10,000 yen (around $70). That included a blood test, a chest x-ray, medicine, and a 30 minute consultation with the doctor. I point this out to my family and despite that and they pay hundreds for insurance every month and then see a doctor and still have to pay hundreds of dollars, think the US system is better.
Thank you Dr. Deuk 🙏🙏🙏 l wish more doctors were as brave as you are for speaking up and l hope the USA will adopt a universal health care system for its people 🙏🙏🙏 l live in Canada 🇨🇦 and I'm so grateful that everyone has access to health care 😊 I pray that the people in the US will have the same soon 🙏🙏🙏
Courageous video. Thanks for going public on this topic.
Thank you for spewing out. UHC denied my IVIG to save my sight them my SI Joint fusions. All in 1 week.
This explains why another hospital is closing nearby.
The fact is that laser surgery is cheaper (& more successful) in comparison of the disc surgery that insurance companies cover. Typical disc surgery would cost about $100k, with a follow up surgery of another $100k, while laser surgery is $36k, with no follow up surgery, usually.
I know several people who had that disc surgery and not one would do it over again. Every one of them told me never do it and I won't.
@chiaralistica After an injury at work, clients gave me same advice!
Thank you for that information. Very bad business, Congress needs to take a look at this!!!
They are getting paid off
Senator Warren grilled a CEO from United Healthcare a number of years ago, so it's not like this hasn't been exposed it's just that nothing gets done because of corporate greed and too many politicians being paid off and not enough being ethical honest people like Senators Warren and Whitehead. . In fact the UA-cam showing Senator Warren's showed up in my feed recently even though it was from several years ago so you can easily Google Senator Warren Senate hearing UHC CEO
You're the first doctor / professional I've thumbed up. Thank you for not equivocating.
This doctor has a lot of insight that makes sense to me and he seems very credible. Nice to see he is brave enough to come out and give his views.
I’d love. to see a national class action suit against all dis-advantage plans. Health insurance stinks. There is no healthcare.
Thank you Dr for being so honest and decent,
you've always been one of the only doctors I've trusted and I've never met you. and again you are proving yourself trustworthy and compassionate and intelligent. thank you doctor. you should give lectures at universities. seriously.
Thank you
I agree with this doctor 100 thank you Doctor
I just want to say thanks for the disclaimer you put at the front of the video.
Thank you, doctor, for helping to educate us all.
Luigi must be freed....
And elected president when he turns 35 years old. In the meantime, he's old enough to be elected to Congress.
Thank you doctor. You shine the lights into my views now. I understand what you are sayinging. I am one of those patient that has been denied payment to my primary doctor. I have to pay out of picket and fight with the united Healthcare. I changed my insurance to blue cross now.
Thanks so much, Dr. Deuk, for your part in fighting the good fight!
Amen, Doc!!! ❤
I was denied a common Rx just the other day.
thank you for having the spine for speaking the truth
@@wkrp01 Millions didn't vote for stupid "reasons". That's how the felon got elected.
Amazon is having a sale on pitchforks.
Free luigi ❤
I have wondered for YEARS why doctors/AMA haven’t spoken out about this injustice. People listen to doctors. In their silence I think they’ve failed us as well.
Free Luigi ♥️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
God bless you, Doctor
One of the best videos I've seen about this issue. Clearly summarized the process and the problems.
My son got denied coverage. I had no choice but to quit paying premiums. How can one have confidence in a system so greedy and corrupt?
Thank you sir , i appreciate it immensely. We need to know the truth. G.bless.
Why is it that we are allowing an insurance company to second-guess the treatment recommendations of a patient's own doctor and deny needed care?
Wow, thank you for speaking out on this.
Then you'll get mad at the doctors because they have to make a profit to.
Thank you for speaking out.
Thanks for your honesty, few would state this reality as a Board Certified Physician to the general public. Your courage speaks volumes.
Thank you for your courage and time to advocate for people's needs. America needs to change the current health care system by the people, not by politicians because the people are dying daily.
