I have always appreciated working with US fire fighters. My heart goes out to the citizens and responders dealing with this extreme wild fire occurring in a heavily populated area under extreme RedFlag conditions. Discouraging for all, to have to put up with Captain Chaos. The most destructive leadership and it is up to all of us not to put up with their BS.

Our Black friday fires in Australia didn't have wind speeds as high as this and a major water shortage and we still couldn't stop the main front from burning out neighborhoods. IN SHORT - in these super extreme conditions with no water bombing support, more water in hoses would not have changed the outcome. maybe a handful of homes on the outer edges might have been spared but only that.
These aren't normal residential fires. This is more like what we did to German and Japanese cities in World War II. You don't put out fires like that. They stop when they're out of fuel and not before.

There is so much disinformation about what were are facing here in LA amplified by Trump and his enablers. I live 3 blocks from the Van Norman reservoir which supplies most, if not all of LA City's water which comes from the Owens Valley and not the delta in Northern California. That reservoir is currently full. The real reason there were water shortages and low pressure was that the storage tanks and reservoirs "downstream" in LA's water system had been depleted. This was due to the initial and overwhelming demands made on the system by firefighters and by homeowners watering down their homes and yards as the fires rapidly spread. Our LADWP replenished these units and diverted water to critical areas as fast as they could. The real problem is that the president-elect knowingly spreads false information for his own agenda and for the sole purpose of attacking his opponents. His supporters only listen to his disinformation and don't want to listen to or believe anyone else. Like incoming president, they don't care about what is really going on here.

This is what I have heard reported. California Governor creates water shortage by routing fresh water from the Sacrament Valley to the sea and allows six dams destroyed to protect a little fish. 17M is cut from the LA fire department by Mayor. Low levels of water in LA retention reservoirs which reduced water pressure and "Never let a good crises go to waste", Van Jones.
Also one worker explained that the overhead wiring/electrical lines had to be turned off as fear of the winds blowing them down, and starting electrical fires- meant that the pumps that also activated the water supply, were also turned off. The were in the process of bringing in generators on the ground, to pump water back into the underground receptacles.
Or maybe it does have something to do with mayor bass, or you know how about th $17 million that they cut from the firefighting budget? Had we had more reservoirs/water storage it would create more water pressure. Should the fire fighters and the team involved with water storage work with the fire department? I don’t believe this is anyone’s fault besides the governor. As you stated…. This is an infrastructure issue. That falls under governor and he had cut the budget by 17.5… yet he can’t account for 24 billion. I hate to throw people under the bus, yet this is his job. If our infrastructure isn’t compatible we need to update that. He’s lining the pockets of all of his friends in hope at a run for president and we’re all suffering in California. I’m convinced that if he does attempt to correct this, it will cost more than it cost more money than a war. He has used California as a piggy bank and none of this is fair on any of us that lives here.

Almost every river system on the west coast has threatened and endangered runs of Pacific salmon and steelhead that rely on instream flows to keep temperatures from rising so high as to destroy entire populations of fish.
A lot of people left their yard sprinklers on thinking that would help their house, but hurt the water pressure, plus a lot of water pipes got busted, killing pressure.
