I think it's about the music industry and the evil involved. But it goes so much deeper than that. Like being trapped in sin, " our own device," the nightman is like the guard at he'll, always ready to receive. Once in, can't leave.
Eagles wrote it like that, "We decided to create something strange, just to see if we could do it." any meaning Hotel California has is unintended rather than hidden. The atmosphere of a man in an unfamiliar rural setting, unsure about what he's witnessing, mimics - says Frey - It is the twilight zone of songs, "Vaguery is the primary tool of songwriters," Frey told a journalist during a 2003 pro-am golf tournament in California's Pebble Beach. "It works, it means whatever the listener wants it to mean." So Hotel Cali can fit many peoples bills and ideas, but really, it's just a twilight zone song :)
It's about drugs! The hotel california, was a place, to help peoples to stop taking drugs, today you call it rehab center in usa....In 1969, it wasn't called like that, but it already exsisted....As a french guy, guitarist, who took drugs, and who's clean now, i realize perfectly the lyrics....But,when i first heard the song, i even didn't listened to the lyrics, it was just a great song, in France, we all used that song to dance with ladies, Kiss them, for the first time😂😂😂😂A lot of babies were created after that song...Like you said, it's like à loce song, everybody can make his own interpretation....love, hollywood industry, etc....ok....(except, if it's about all that, what is the Hotel California, then?😂)....In a documentary i saw some members explained it, it was a place to help peoples to stop drugs! The name rehab center was used only in the 80's in usa, but it was a rehab center😂PS: I understand, perfectly, why you thought it was about love, and à woman destroying men, scamming men... Apparently, you lived the same as me😢Women destroy men....But, now, since #metoo, apparently, they're all poor victims, all the women are perfect, all the men are bastards....😡🤮👎DON'T WORRY, I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE FEELING AS A MAN....Peace from France ✌️
Hotel California is one of the greatest song ever written about the duality of the American experience and the human condition. The band members themselves offered a variety of explanations for the meaning of “Hotel California.” They’ve said it’s a socio-political statement. They’ve said it’s about darkness and light. They’ve said it’s about the self-destruction that comes from greed & hedonism of L.A. music & film industry and also about the magnificence of California which is in many ways a state of mind. For context In 1973 6.5 million soldiers had returned from the horrors of Viet Nam & many were in V.A. hospitals or living homeless on the streets of San Francisco and Los Angeles. There had been protests against the war and sadly the veterans of that war were denigrated at the time because of their participation in the war.
one of the best rock songs ever written. i love the fact that it has many interpretation. also, those solos at the end are AMAZING and the way they merge into one is FLAWLESS AND EFFORTLESS.
You hit the nail on the head with your first guess. This song is about the life of people who migrate to LA to make it big (all the members of the Eagles originally came from the Midwest). The guitar with two necks is called a double-neck guitar and the reason for it is usually to allow the player to have a six string and twelve string guitar both at the ready so he doesn't have to switch guitars mid-song. This one was played by Don Felder. The other guitarist with the bandana playing the Fender Telecaster was Joe Walsh. Both guitarists are living legends. The drummer/lead vocalist is Don Henley. Great reaction!
@@JayCapone37Please tell me what part of my answer is wrong. The only part of it that I'm not 100% sure of is that all the members of the Eagles are from the Midwest. I had heard that somewhere but it could be incorrect. Everything else in my comment is 100% verified factually correct. As to what the song is about there may be nuances of understanding,.but the gist of what I said is the correct answer. It's often said that it's about the excess of life in California (or America in general),.yet the metaphor of the "Hotel" California is specifically about the migration of people to California in search of success getting mired in the excess of a particular lifestyle and getting consumed by it (you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave)... show me some kind of reputable source proving me wrong. Am I wrong about what a double neck guitar is for? Seriously? Or that Don Felder is playing it? Or that Joe Walsh is the other guitarist and that he's playing a Telecaster? I'm afraid it's you who is wrong.
The double neck guitar incorporates a twelve string and a six string guitar and eliminates the need to change guitars midsong. He uses the twelve string (upper neck) for the intro and then switches to the standard six strings for the rest of the song. Great choice and reaction. I love your enthusiasm! 🌺✌️
great reaction!!! I think you hit the nail on the head with the thought that this is about the music business that sucks you in because the fame is addictive. But certainly it can have other meanings revolving around addictions. I love your appreciation for great music and Hotel California is one of the greatest rock songs ever-Top Ten.
I loved your reaction. I have been an Eagles fan since 1973. I saw them sing this at the concert I was at 6 days before this recording. I have seen them 11 times and they never disappoint.
Lol lol lol. I don't even know what to say. Awesome reaction. I had just as much fun as you did. This song always brings me back to a warm summer night, under the stars, bonfire in front of us, beer on the side and this song comes over the radio. I really don't think life can get better than that. I love their chemistry on stage with this song. Everyone knew their " assignment."
There is so much talent in this band .You can't go wrong with any song from the Eagles. Check out Joe Walsh one of the guitarist for the Eagles his songs Rocky mountain way and life's been good are worth checking out. Peace out ✌️ ☮️
I do love this song and this performance. The guitar solo is so good. Eagles block so there are very few videos to work with. It is just a double neck guitar, which is a 12 string and a 6 string as a rule. They are so heavy that most players shy away from therm.
If you listen to their song from 1980 the Long Run, the song "Those Shoes" has such a funky bass line and changes that the Beastie Boys sampled it for "High Plains Drifter"
They have so many great songs! A couple of my favorites are 'Desperado' and 'Peaceful Easy Feeling', but you really can't go wrong. They have an album called "Hell Freezes Over," that's a great collection of their biggest hits in case you ever want to do a full album reaction. 🙂
A double-neck guitar is also known as a multi-neck guitar or Shrammel guitar. The Schrammel guitar has a fretted neck with six strings and a second fretless neck with up to nine bass strings. One common configuration is one neck as a 6 string guitar and the other as a 4 string bass guitar. It is so the guitarist doesn't have to change guitar to get a different sound.
I grew up in California in the 70s and 80s. I always took the song to mean the female is the state of California - a beauty with her beaches, her pretty pretty friends, Hollywood, etc. At that time, you could come to California with dreams and survive. Tom Petty came in the 70s with very little money in his pocket and made it. But many didn't make it.
They have an album named "HELL FREEZES". It has all of their biggest hits. They started off with a song called "DESPERAD" and they never liked back!! They truly are AMVERICA'S ROCK BAND!!! Their harmonies are amazing!!!!
There's a lot written about this music. Some say it's about how drugs (colitas, for example) were usual in California at that time and how it influenced the group and society in general.
Tiffany and Company is very old merchandiser known for highly crafted jewelry and miscellaneous fine home furnishings. If you have to ask about their prices you can't afford them. I can't see the captions you have up, but sometimes it's Mercedes Benz, or Mercedes Bends. The bends is a terrible thing that happens to deep underwater divers who surface too fast. If they don't take care to decompress slowly as they rise, their blood can fill with nitrogen bubbles. I don't know which term is the original lyric, but I really like the second.
On the inside of the original vinyl album fold-out, the printed lyrics say "bends". The band has said that acknowledged that it is "bends", and was intended to be a play on words. That said, I believe that the captions on this video have it incorrectly as "Benz".
@@dionysiacosmos no problem. I'm happy to verify it for you. You're the first person I've noticed that has made that observation. Most just take for granted that they're talking about the car.

Please, react to Gabriel two new cover, the first with Jade Salles, Beauty and the Beast, the second, The Tempest is Raging, on the procred channel. Amazing
I always check out new reactions to this version, and you didn't disappoint.🧓 These were in the days of the guitar gods, but if you had asked them or any other guitarists of the time who was the best in the world they most likely would have said Roy Clark. I see you don't have a playlist for him, and nobody only hears and sees him once. This is going to be fun for you! But first if you've never heard Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash, you must. It was a hugh hit for Cash, and when his best friend Roy Clark asked for his approval to do a comic version of the song Johnny couldn't wait to hear it. The best UA-cam video is Roy Clark, Folsom Prison Blues on the Jimmy Dean Show, 1963. There's a whole playlist of Roy's performances on the Jimmy Dean Show. There are a lot of videos of Roy's amazing ability to play any stringed instrument. Modern guitarists who have reaction channels are funny to watch. Their eyes just get bigger and bigger, and if they play guitar to demonstrate what the featured guitarist is doing, they often just stop the video and exclaim, " What was that? What did he just do?!" That's because his hands were so fast that the cameras had no hope of tracking them. I'll leave you to explore on your own, with one exception. Roy had a commercial hit in the 1970s called Thank God and Greyhound. Go into it blind, in order to completely appreciate it. Have fun!!🧓🎭🪕🎸🎻
WHAT A SONG!!!! WHAT IS IT REALLY ABOUT THOUGH??
I think it is for being inside of ones brains, so its not a place, its state of your brains and thoughts. So think it again in that way.
