I get the feeling he told him to level vigor, and he didn't listen. I'd be gloating like a motherf¥¢ker if my friend went into the DLC, sub-1000hp, and got deleted by a single hit of a fairly balanced ash of war.
Easy way to think about the Greatsword of Damnation grab attack is that it’s a DS1 backstab. It’s only confirmed client-side, so as long as it lands on their screen you will get grabbed for ten million damage. Even if you initiated a roll well in advance
Genuinely, that's how grab attacks have always been coded, even back in DS1. Hackers will force people to teleport to them simply by backstabbing a client side version of their character - and that method has existed in DS1, DS3, and now ER, all because the grab attacks code is still exactly the same.
For as nice as Wing Stance looks, I have to stand by Sword Dance on the Milady. Gives it much needed HA, stagger and blends really well. Might even be a roll catch after a guard counter but I haven’t tried it Edit: I may have misunderstood what you were saying but as far as I am aware the two handed talisman doesn’t affect AoW’s
@@anitaremenarova6662 if it gets a buff it might get way too opressive. its so fast and has so much reach and pierce damage and just decimates light weapons

all my friends hated on me for insisting that Elden Ring was worse off for not including a deflection-style mechanic in the default player character move set... now look how much literally everyone LOVES the deflecting hard tear
As other people pointed out, two handing talisman doesn't work with ashes of war...HOWEVER it does work with war cry and barbaric roar since technically those are R2s instead! So if you really want to give someone a bad time, slap war cry (or braggart's roar) on a halberd, equip the roar medallion, axe talisman, two handed talisman, spear talisman, and the highland axe in your offhand. Oh and the charged attack physick tear too. Just delete folks from this plane of reality
Yeah the impaled thing ignoring roll I-frames is insane. I wonder if it's a latency check where advantage goes to the attacker. Because the only reliable way to avoid it, I've found, is spacing, which sucks. I'm so glad you're having so much fun with milady! I was so happy to switch it in for the Godskin stitcher. The moveset is so fucking fun and has such a better skill feel than the heavy thrusting swords. Looking forward to catching more streams when your Internet is fixed and I've finally finished my first playthrough
I used milady in my main hand and the dueling shield in my off hand and that was really fun being able to attack with the shield led to some great mix ups!
I started keeping a Midra sword on me and busting it out on other midra users. In coop it's basically a GG for the invader because of how much other stuff they have to pay attention to. Also the recovery for the ash is long enough for another midra user to punish with the ash. So whoever midras first loses basically
2-hand talisman doesn't seem to affect ashes of war, but still works very well with LGS And that Smithscript Shield is a regular smithing weapon but can't be infused, any status build on it is a bug like the old deathblight pulley xbow.
I agree wholeheartedly with the anti air talk. I was half expecting to see some sort of dp move after seeing the dryleaf arts in the teaser. As a sf fan I’d absolutely love that man…
I’m here for new era of st riot milady content, by far my favorite weapon/class of the DLC. From just needs to give it a tiny pump in poise damage and it’s perfect.
In PvE maybe, the entire point is to surprise people by deflecting with a smaller weapon that normally doesn't have the stats to block. My personal favorite is the sword lance, it has greatspear R2s which means quick poke that can one-shot with the right talismans.
@@anitaremenarova6662I've got over 1000 kills in ER invasions, maybe once or twice I've seen heavy weapon users block with their weapon. That is most definitely not "expected". Blocking with any weapon and not a shield is unexpected. The issue with relying on hard deflect tear for colossal is that their guard counter swing seems too shit to land consistently.
@@yeahr1ghty The thing is you can already do that without the tear but colossal weapons are so slow people can just reaction-roll your guard counters. It's best used on light weapons with quick guard counters, greataxes work too for some reason.
I fought rellana with ruins greatsword and deflecting hardtear, was extremely fun. It has better magic and fire negation than most medium shields so her 2nd phase was effectively the same as 1st. Great fight.
15:54 saint thankfully the status build up on the smithcript shield was fixed in the emergengy patch and the thing about tye greatsword of damnation is the because it's a grab it will get you if it hits you in your roll regardless of i-frames but if you roll but don't get "hit" and evade (like you did in that invasion) you won't get grabbed. I'd love to see your thoughts on invading in Wo Long considering that Deflecting Tear + Light GS feels a lot like discount Wo Long. Can't say the non-combat stuff for the game is up to ER's standard, but man that combat tho.
I've been using the smithscript daggers in the offhand with milady. I doubt it's the best option but it's good for chip damage, and the jump attacks when two handed can headshot, which is good for punishing spellcasters
Deflecting hardtear is the best addition to any soulsbornekiro game since trick weapons. I just wish it wasn't a temporary buff. A talisman would probably just be too much but maybe if it took up two talisman slots or some shit, I'd never switch it out
saint_riot comes from the Shaman Village. One day, the hornsent came and stuffed him in a jar. He got mad about this and became a god in order to smite the hornsent. But he got distracted playing Elden Ring pvp along the way.
I honestly really wish we got this as a Crucible style Talisman where you can just deflect but take more damage type of thing instead of it just being tied to the flask lol 14:18 Its kinda like how you can get a sleep or madness stagger despite rolling the attack that built it up, or like how you popped his bubble at 15:05 despite him not taking damage. Another issue caused by phantom hits and FromSofts netcode sadly.
I see you're running quality from the looks, are you around 150 for PvP? I'm not sure what the meta level is right now! Rolling into other player hitboxs makes tracking weird on some spells and aow's. Probably what happened with the greatsword in the blast clip. You can also do this to the new thony bleed spell from this dlc too, but risky becaus its also bugged and will one hit you if you roll incorrectly too close
The people who are against hardswapping have two problems: 1: people who go so wild with it you can't tell how their next swing will come at you or what the weapon will be (very rare) 2: they don't upgrade more than one weapon and are mad that other people do. I'm a wizard and on top of two shields and a staff I have like 5 different weapons for different situations. It's pure skill issue
Yes. I’ve been trying to tell people the dlc is meant to be played like sekiro.
